Amazing pizza - my favorite while in Italy!
We made a quick stop here with a Trastevere food tour, and got to try three of their pizzas:
- Margherita (€7) - tomato purée, mozzarella **
- Boscaiola (€7.5) - mozzarella, sausage, mushroom **
- Contessa (€8?; vegetarian form) - zucchini, mozzarella, ricotta *
I believe you can also buy the pizza by the lb.
All three pizzas were amazing.
True Roman pizzas focus more on the flavors than the dough itself, and these were especially so.
My personal favorite was the Boscaiola; it was juicy, scrumptious, and had a soupy flavor almost. Most peoples' favorites are usually Margherita, which was just as good!
Their bread was super thin and had a right amount of crisp... It's a wonder how the toppings didn't soak up the bread too quickly that everything would quickly fall apart. Ugh, it was perfection, and I miss their pizzas so much.
I wanted to go back to also try their burgers and supplì, but didn't have time to... Almost want to come back to Rome just for this. Haha! read more
