    Best sandwich place
    Ann D.

    The sandwich we had was very good. We also tried the prosciutto that they make with fennel and spices and that was very good. The ingredients were all fresh with special sauces. The mural was painted by the owners family member.

    Amazing sandwich shop! A big student spot. Sandwiches are made right on the spot, all named after rock starts and rock bands. The porchetta was amazing, I really like the skin and when I asked they cut me a nice crispy piece to enjoy while I waited for my sandwich. All veggies were fresh. Sauces were tasty. Bread was crispy. And they seem to be open all the time! Best sandwich place in Roma!

    This place is exactly as the reviews say!!! The staff was wonderful and suggested changes on our orders based on our tastes. The wall art and music adds to the incredible food experience. I would 10/10 recommend this place because there is something for everyone!

    The bread was the most amazing part of the sandwiches. And everything else was the perfect compliment of flavors. Gonna go everyday.

    Delicious, friendly and excellent selection of beer. You can't go wrong here. I got the Blues Brothers on ciabatta....sooooo good! I cannot emphasize how friendly he was and even let us try the sun-dried jerky, which was so tasty, we bought 2.

    The Bobby D in all its glory

    I am but just a simple lad living on the humble streets of Trastevere when one day I stumbled upon this small hole in the wall sandwich shop unbeknownst to me that it would change my life. A few classmates and I were lured in almost hypnotically by the wafting aroma of Italian cold cuts and cheese and we were greeted in such a warm manner by the owner of the shop, Alessandro. Looking at their gargantuan menu was almost a bit overwhelming, as there were dozens of sandwich options named after some of the greatest musicians of our time. Seems like Alessandro really likes his classic rock. One sandwich at the very bottom of the menu caught my eye, by the name of Bob Dylan. As I unwrapped my Bobby D, there was a near eruption of cheese as it overflowed throughout the sides as I hastily used my entire napkin reserve to wipe off nearly a half pound of wet cheese. The other components of the sandwich consisted of grilled chicken, creamy avocado, sun dried tomatoes, and crispy onion flakes; and when I took that first bite it was magical. It was like falling in love. I regrettably didn't savor each bite as I ate this sandwich so quickly, Joey Chestnuts himself would've been impressed. Donkey Punch has themselves a customer for life now, and I vow to try each and every sandwich on the menu.

    Porchetta = YUM!!!

    Located in the Trastevere neighborhood of Rome, Donkey Punch is a small and quirky sandwich shop which happens to serve outstanding food, coupled with a very solid Italian craft beer bottle selection. The highlight here is the porchetta sandwich ... which was absolutely delicious. This is more of a take-out place as there is only seating for about 5 people. The sandwich options are immense ... probably about 20 different types of sandwiches ... but like I said, the prochetta is the main attraction. Knocking off one star due to aloof and slow service ... coupled with high prices. For the money we paid (about 8 euro per sandwich), there really wasn't much meat on it - definitely could be a better value for the money.

    Best in town. Good prices, friendly workers (who even remember your order) and a good student discount. Everything is fresh. One of the places in Trastevere you must go to!

Everything we ordered was yummy. From the kimchijun, the mandugook and the kimchijungol (aka budaejigae). Even the homemade banchan were good. Being in Rome, we tempered our expectations...any kimchi would suffice, but from the first bite to the last spoonful, this was the taste of home we needed after being in Italy for two weeks. Place closes at 3pm and reopens at a latter time. We got there at 2pm but food service was very slow. The dishes did taste amazing! It's located in a very busy tourist area do parking was hard to find. You'll need to find street parking and pay the meter. Overall good experience, just service was extremely slow. (There were several tables ahead of us that got their food and almost finished eating before we got our food.) Of course, we pointed and spoke only English as the waitress only spoke Italian or Korean.

Even the side dishes were pitiful. The So galbi was so rubbery and the samgyeopsal does not taste good. They also gave me such a small portion. Furthermore, I could see into the kitchen and I saw them make my doenjang jjigae by putting a frozen block of doenjang from the freezer in there. A good restaurant wouldn't cook their food that way and would only use fresh ingredients. Doenjang is fermented and lasts veeerrrryyyy long in the fridge. Fermented food in general lasts a long time. There's literally no reason to freeze the broth of that soup unless you just can't cook. Ugh wasted money at this restaurant and I really regret my choice. People... listen to me. This is a great place for Koreans craving Korean food. We ordered the kimchi soup, kimchi seafood pancake, and the pan fried pork and kimchi with tofu. Everything was so delicious! The kimchi was fermented enough to give that sour kick that the soup and the pan fried dish needed in order to feel refreshing. The pancake was crispy and wasn't too salty, which I loved. It was seasoned perfectly that we literally ate the whole thing. The service was great and they were very attentive. They were nice enough to answer any questions we had, especially since we were first time tourists in Rome. I would definitely come back here if I can save enough money to visit Rome again!
