    Michelin reviewed.

Finding any Korean restaurant in Italy is a challenge, with Rome being your best bet. Gainn, a Michelin reviewed restaurant, will meet your expectation for really good Korean food. The menu will look familiar to anyone who loves Korean food, and the results are as you might hope. Best is to call or WhatsApp for a reservation. The place is small and if you have limited time in Roma and need your Korean fix, plan ahead for the reward.

We initially chose this place just because we were craving Asian food and it was near our hotel, we were SO pleasantly surprised! The food was so flavorful, it wasn't until after our meal that we realized they had received multiple Michelin stars in the past - they definitely deserved it! Be aware you may have to make a reservation, we were lucky that they were able to squeeze us in as a walk in

First time to Italy for a family trip, went thru lots of flight troubles and I was exhausted. 5th day in Italy, I found this restaurant in Rome with the Korean flag hanging on the entrance. I never felt so relieved to see a friendly sign welcoming me. At least I wont get lost here. As soon as their restuarnt opened the door at 12:15pm we were welcomed by the restaurant owner and the staff who spoke Korean, and their menu also had multiple translated versions. The food was on point. Maybe it was just my family really wanting a Korean flavor after 5 days in Italy, but it was on point. It was better than some of the Korean restaurants in Los Angeles Ktown that is known to be good. (maybe their kimchi was bit salty and sweet) The fact that they offer so many diverse korean dish that is actually good even for my Korean parent standard, in middle of Italy where Korean restaurant was so hard to find, this place is awesome. It is 5m walk from Roma Termini train station.

Third day in Rome we wanted some Korean bbq. We had googled a few places but this was the one with the highest rating, and we found out for very good reason. We both got the Bulgolgi. It came with multiple side dishes, all delicious. The service was insanely fast. I mean within 5-8 minutes? We later found out they had received their first Michelin star this year, well deserved. When In Rome! Check them out. You will be so happy that you did!

Good Korean food in Rome wasn't something that I was expecting. After eating Italian food for the past couple of days, our entire family and family friends were starting to crave the taste of the homeland. We found it through Gainn. It's a somewhat small place, so you got to be sure to get there early. The most impressive part was that our server, who seemed to be of South Asian descent, was very fluent at Korean and was a very good host. His presence made our meal very enjoyable and relaxing after dealing with about 10 restaurants shoving fliers in our faces on our walk here. The food was beyond delicious. Unlike some Korean restaurants here in America, they didn't compromise on any of the flavors or spices to appeal to the "majority" population. I got the beef stew and it hit the spot for me. The banchan's selection was somewhat small (about 4 dishes) but each of them were very delicious. My only gripe is that they don't refill them like at most Korean restaurants. If you're feeling something Korean in Rome, this is the place to go. You won't be disappointed.

This place is the best Korean restaurant we have ever been in our trips to Europe. We went there twice while we were in Rome. The food was good and there was nothing to complain about. Highly recommend to the visitors staying in Rome.

Good korean food- nothing memorable, but good and a welcomed alternative to the italian fare we've been having everyday.

Everything we ordered was yummy. From the kimchijun, the mandugook and the kimchijungol (aka budaejigae). Even the homemade banchan were good. Being in Rome, we tempered our expectations...any kimchi would suffice, but from the first bite to the last spoonful, this was the taste of home we needed after being in Italy for two weeks. It's located in a very busy tourist area do parking was hard to find. You'll need to find street parking and pay the meter. Overall good experience, just service was extremely slow. (There were several tables ahead of us that got their food and almost finished eating before we got our food.) Of course, we pointed and spoke only English as the waitress only spoke Italian or Korean.

Even the side dishes were pitiful. The So galbi was so rubbery and the samgyeopsal does not taste good. They also gave me such a small portion. Furthermore, I could see into the kitchen and I saw them make my doenjang jjigae by putting a frozen block of doenjang from the freezer in there. A good restaurant wouldn't cook their food that way and would only use fresh ingredients. Doenjang is fermented and lasts veeerrrryyyy long in the fridge. Fermented food in general lasts a long time. There's literally no reason to freeze the broth of that soup unless you just can't cook. Ugh wasted money at this restaurant and I really regret my choice. People... listen to me. This is a great place for Koreans craving Korean food. We ordered the kimchi soup, kimchi seafood pancake, and the pan fried pork and kimchi with tofu. Everything was so delicious! The kimchi was fermented enough to give that sour kick that the soup and the pan fried dish needed in order to feel refreshing. The pancake was crispy and wasn't too salty, which I loved. It was seasoned perfectly that we literally ate the whole thing. The service was great and they were very attentive. They were nice enough to answer any questions we had, especially since we were first time tourists in Rome. I would definitely come back here if I can save enough money to visit Rome again!

On New Year's Day it was difficult to find a restaurant that serves Asian style soups and stews, after much walking and searching we settled for this place steps away from Termini. First thing first, price here is high for sure, especially for those who come from California (or Korea) where Korean food are plenty abundant and accessible. Also be aware that almost everything will be charged separately (including side dishes, water, and rice), something that might feel like nickeling and diming for us who aren't used to it. The food was, price aside, objectively not bad. We had the vegetable pancake, which had good flavor and texture if not for it being a bit too oily. The tofu soup we got was quite bland, but the cod fish stew was good with fresh fish and plenty of vegetable. Side dishes were also surprisingly tasty. On a value per $ basis, definitely not worth it. But if you have no choice and are looking for some Korean fix, this place should do the trick.
