We went here for brunch to start our day in Trastevere. The people here are really friendly and helpful. They also can speak some English if you don't speak much Italian. We all ordered something different. I ordered an avocado toast and a caffè latte. The avocado toast was very flavorful from the bread as well as the avocado spread! The caffè latte was good too like most places in Italy where I have had coffee. The restaurant itself if comfortable with some cool artwork on the walls. This is a great place to try if you're in Trastevere however, there's so many good places to try here too it would be hard to choose where to go! read more

My uncle, a local, has apparently reached maximum saturation with pasta and pizza (a shocking betrayal to the carb factory). So, in a daring act of rebellion, we marched ourselves to Mammo, who has burgers, because sometimes you need a break from marinara and mozzarella and want to flirt with cholesterol in a different shape. He went full carnivore, ordering something with more meat than a Roman gladiator banquet. I, still blissfully meat-free, went for the Cacio e Pepe, because if I'm going to eat pasta in a burger place, I want it to feel ironic. Nestled right by the Tiber river where you can ponder life's big questions like is Uncle Tom technically cheating on Italian cuisine, or is he just evolving? Either way, 10/10. Stopped in here for a quick breakfast on our last day in Rome and I must say I was surprised but delighted! It's def a little more Americanized but you order at the counter and pay up front (so none of the three hour Italy meal experiences) and there's a long menu filled with bagel sandwiches and other entree options, along with plenty of coffee and juice choices. I got the carrot ginger juice, the California omelette (no cheese), and the sesame bagel with PBJ. The juice was made fresh, a little warm but tasty. The omelette came in a more deconstructed style but the components were so good! Idk what they do to their eggs but they were amazing! The bagel was a large proportion and I liked that it wasn't drowning in spreads. The perfect amount of PBJ. My husband got the bagel Sammy and the eggs and bacon plate, which he also thoroughly enjoyed. There was only one problem... when he asked if the cream cheese was local, she said it was Philadelphia... we expected better from a city with so much fresh cheese but he admitted that nonetheless, the bagel Sammy was delicious. read more

Known for being an American restaurant it was packed with students getting coffee and a bite between classes. Lots of "American" food: avocado toast, bagels, eggs, for breakfast. When I shared my skepticism it was on the menu. She went & got Michele, he was humble but was certain that his brisket could compete. American style. Very good and quick. Lots of sandwich, bagels, and wrap options! Coffee is just okay, but I think a lot of people really like Mammo because they have American style coffee. This might be one of the only places with iced coffee in the area. read more

It's one thing not to cater to tourists because - I will admit - tourists are annoying. It's another thing for staff to openly mock patrons even after trying to speak the language (I wasn't good but I tried). The staff on the day we went were a bunch of jerks and I would have been speaking to a manager in the states. The food was fine, nothing special. Was so happy we found Mammo. The crowd at breakfast and lunch is made up of college students who are mostly here from US. we enjoyed breakfast here twice and lunch only once. Everything we ordered was really delicious. Had BEC on a bagel, avacado toast with eggs and bacon and California omelet for breakfast. Lunch was chicken salad on a bagel and pulled pork on a bagel. Have you ever cried when eating a bagel? Fluffy, thick plain and everything bagels piled with a delicious inside. These bagels are some of the best I have ever had! Their other food and drinks are good as well such as the te caldo or the waffles. My favorite dish is the #2 bagel. The staff are kind and welcoming as well. There is Wi-Fi inside which is great for a quick study session; however, if they need the table then you will have to leave when finished dining. The layout is wonderful as well. As a born and raised New Yorker, there's one thing that will always be a main staple in my diet...bacon, egg, and cheese on a bagel. Having been in Rome and a bit home sick after 2 months I found this place like an oasis in a dessert. Thank you Mammò for giving me a taste of home! Okay place for a quick breakfast, which luckily for us was quick. After reading the other reviews and watching service, I saw that we were lucky in that we walked in when there where no other guests. Two other couples came in after us and I watched as they waited and waited to just put in their order. I have issues with inefficient restaurants, this is one of them. The food was okay, we both got breakfast bagel sandwiches that came quickly and were good. Warning, their avocado bagels are skimpy on the avocado. But they were filling and what we wanted and needed before heading to the train station. Luckily we left our luggage at the AirBNB because there is no room for that shit here. We also both got cappuccinos, which just came out of there Nespresso machine. Here's the thing, I have a Nespresso machine and I love it, but when you're in Rome and every single other cafe makes fresh espresso, that is just plain weak. The machine is also awkwardly facing the customer, so they have to leave the counter and join you on the other side to make coffee. Just hand me the pod, I'll make it myself... Lastly, my receipt came in two parts with two amounts. There was a slight confusion because I did not see the second half of my receipt because it was folded. Overall, if you are hankering for a bagel, which many Americans do on occasion, you can get one here. However, there are so many other places to eat. read more

By far my favorite place to eat in Trastevere. It's a very small location, but incredibly special to anyone who goes there. Everyone is so nice and you instantly become part of the mammó family. Sabrina and Francesco are people to die for who take hospitality to a whole new level. I am a university student here in Rome and the quality of the food is far better than the price; so I go before and after classes. Mammó has become part of the Trastevere community and not stopping for a sandwich would be a great loss. They are also the only bagel shop in Rome with products coming directly from the United States. Their selection of craft beers makes it hard to leave without wanting to try them all. I also recommend the dessert of the week: my favorite is the mint chocolate cheesecake or the Oreo cheesecake! 10/10 would recommend any day of the year read more
