Sesami Chicken Flavor Bomb- BBQ chicken, brown rice, bean sprouts, grilled zucchini, house pickles, sautéed mushrooms, corn, green sauce

I always love supporting local businesses, especially in areas that are run by chains. I found this place on Yelp and visited with a couple of friends since we were in the area and we were all impressed with what we got. The restaurant is like a modern take on Asian comfort food meets the convenience and modern adaptation of a rice bowl. The first thing I noticed about the food, they aren't stingy with the portions at all, the portions were huge! I also, really appreciated how the food had an emphasis on being healthier, I thought my bowl had a ton of healthy veg even the apps, which were fried, didn't taste heavy or greasy at all. Often times, I really hate when I eat something fried and feel like death afterwards, I didn't get that feeling here at all. The food: Night Market Chicken- Taiwanese style popcorn chicken seasoned with 5 spice served with Sriracha aioli. Oh god are these addictive! They are like a little Asian version of chicken nuggets, these were so juicy and had so much flavor. If you ever go to a restaurant and there is a dish that is named after the restaurant, you order that dish! I thought the tots were great, they were nicely fried and I thought all the fixins made so much sense. So much different tastes and textures, it's also fun to eat. Crispy Chicken Dumplings- Juicy chicken and veggie dumplings served with sesami dumpling sauce. I thought these were made well, not super exciting but definitely solid. Sesami Chicken Flavor Bomb- BBQ chicken, brown rice, seasoned bean sprouts, grilled zucchini, house pickles, sautéed mushrooms, yellow corn, green sauce, nori and crunchy shallots. Jesus Christ there was so much food! I thought this bowl was great, nice crunchy veg with juicy and flavorful chicken with brown rice. I actually couldn't finish this and had enough for a second meal. Sesami offers fast, casual cuisine featuring Chinese, Korean, Japanese and Vietnamese flavors. This small corner restaurant is at 1531 W Wynnewood Road in Ardmore. I tried the Sesame Tots, Vegetable Spring Roll, and Make Your Own Bowl. Loved the crispy spring roll and spiced tofu. I wouldn't get the soggy sesame tots again.

Going to the gym on Tuesday and Thursday I pass this little corner place all the time. I decided to stop in to my surprise it was cute inside and the seating outside is great too. The manager and staff were polite and service was fast. I got there at 11:25am even tho they open at 11:30am but they were ready for me to order. I was so excited to try the teas out which they had 2 one green and one black. To my surprise they came in a cute reusable cup. I created my bowl and it was delicious the dressing was perfect. So vibrant in color and organized and layered perfect. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is I wish it had more tea flavors and or boba tea also kid friendly options too. But if you pass by def stop by they even have shirts you can buy. I did not try the juice box which is tea but can't wait to later today.

It was like an explosion of flavor in my mouth!!!! I love that you could create your own bowl like you were at one of those Chipotle restaurants. I ended up with pork and rice, toppings as well. Everything just went together. Fresh ingredients as well. Two different sauces as well. They give about 4 to choice from! I also ordered an iced tea Jasmine flavor. Which was perfectly sweetened.

Finally something good has taken over the old J&G Deli! I didn't care for the previous 2 establishments that was here before Sesami came here. Tiffany is an amazing intuitive employee who helped me decide what I wanted. Davis is the chef who has skills! These guys are going to do very good here with these creative bowls. It's like the perfect 1,2 combination, the dynamic duo basically. Yes the rest of the staff kick ass, and I was not going to leave them out. The bowl I went with was the All meat , no greens dish, but I added kimchi to it which brought this to a whole different level of winning. I'm a carnivore, and this just spoke to me, simply biblical I tried their Sesami Tots and their crispy chicken dumplings on their munchies . Just order it ! You're welcome, no need to thank me for that pro tip. So what I'm trying to say is get in here and just enjoy a meal or two, or three. Obviously you've seen I've been back several times. Review over, now to these tots I've neglected.

Wow!! Had been dying to try this place after hearing how fantastic it was from friends and even with all the hype I was not disappointed. I did a make your own bowl with 5 veggies (shiitake,kimchi, zucchini, edamame and broccoli), rice, chicken and 2 sauces (ginger sauce and sriracha). Finally garnished with seeds, nori, and shallots! It's similar to chipotle and cava where you pick your base, meat, toppings etc. that said portions are way bigger and quality of food better! 1000% recommend and will definitely be returning when in the area

Been waiting for a modern Asian street food place in H-town and finally Sesami is here. Korean bim bim bowls all fresh and made to order with your choice of protein, probiotic veggies and home made sauces in 10 minutes! My regular is the spicy grilled pork and second choice spicy grilled chicken. I also add the crunch puffed tofu for texture. Brown rice , white jasmine rice or spinach as your base - all good. You still need a cheese steak and fast food burger fix once in a while but if you want healthy fresh food check out Sesami.

During this pandemic, I've definitely had more mood swings from my withdrawal of foodie cravings. It's been a battle of weighing financial costs yet supporting local businesses... "oh I really want this, but oh I need to be smart with my money spending, but oh the local businesses need our support, and oh I'm just really hungry and dont want to cook, treat yourself". 99% of the time, I'll have to confess my cravings wins, but hey it's for the local good, right? (Justifying my wants vs need is something I'm notorious for when it comes to food, or so I'm told) So no surprise, craving comes knocking at the door and I was feeling a hearty rice bowl with a healthy balance of protein and veggies. Sesami has been on my radar for quite some time, but a good 30 minute from where I live. Wasnt sure if it was gonna be worth it, but they fit the description of what I wanted perfectly, so why not? And it was their grand opening! Thank the Lord, I was hangry on the drive there but my belly gave a thousand thanks when I finally got my hand on a bowl! (Order ahead of time) Pros: - customization; create your own if there are particular food aversions or allergies, or cravings to tailor to your taste. - great pricing, and your bowl is stacked to the brim - vibrant colors from the veggies and sauce, super appetizing. - flavorful marinated meat and veggies, distinct in it their own representation individually yet harmonizes well when mixed together as a dish. Recommend any of the meat, tofu, mushrooms/shitake, broccoli, purple cabbage, cucumber. - get the sesami tots! So good. - light, hits the spot well, not heavy and excessive in oil or sodium taste - their homemade tea is super refeshing and not overly sweet at all - great friendly staff and service Cons: - sadly we couldn't dine in due to covid but the interior looked beautiful , we did see outdoor benches though - the nori "seaweed" topping is not what I expected like the sesame oil crunch one you get in Japanese restaurants, but it had a dried thick tougher crunch texture like I was eating the algae itself. I wasn't a big fan of that due to the fishier taste, but that's a personal preference - spinach as a topping was a big no no for me. It wasnt specially prepared or anything like I expected, just .... raw spinach on the side. Meh. - but worse of all, writing this makes me want to go back soon for another bowl! All in all, I cant wait to go back to try again. Just saw they posted about popcorn chicken too now (small fried pieces of juicy chicken basically) !

After a long awaited delay after their soft opening due to the pandemic, my wife and I drove out just to pick up lunch. And we were not disappointed - not that we expected anything less than delicious food. They've upped their game, making tweaks and improvements that seriously makes it one of the best places to get food in the area.

Great spot!! Offering totally different food then what's quickly available in the neighborhood. We ordered the Super Green Bowl (vegetarian) and the Chicken Flavor Bomb. Absolutely delicious food, great flavors and textures, good quality ingredients, good portions (I had leftovers) and really happy with the price. Cannot wait to visit again. This place is amazing! We ordered delivery from here and our meal was delicious. The bowls were extremely flavorful without feeling like you are weighed down. I have been waiting for them to open and it was well worth the wait! The food is fantastic, staff very friendly and customer service above and beyond! I had a custom bowl with BBQ chicken and the flavors were fantastic! The Sesami Tots and Crispy Chicken Dumplings are not to be missed. I can't wait to try everything on the menu. My new favorite place and Pan Asian is a welcome new addition to our local foodie scene. YUM!! read more

What a great addition to the neighborhood! Everything was so fresh and flavorful! We enjoyed our make-your-own bowels, they were outstanding! The tater tots are outrageously delicious! Crispy and covered with edamame, corn, black beans, carrots and cheese with a sauce that had just the right kick! Looking forward to trying the dumplings and more varieties of bowels. It was love at first bite! I ordered from Sesami for the first time after driving by so many times! The food is OUTSTANDING! I got a vegetarian "make-your-own-bowl" and everything was fresh and delicious. House made kimchi (the best I've ever had), pickles and sauces. Even the iced tea is brewed in-house. This is my favorite new place! So happy they are close by, Sesami is a great addition to the neighborhood! THANK YOU for opening up here. PLUS, there is plenty of parking in the back which is amazing!! I'll be back tomorrow. One of the cooks there said "Don't blame me when you get addicted!" Lol! He is RIGHT! I AM addicted! Food was amazing. I love that adegaeshi tofu is an option-cause I love all things fried. Generous portions, yummy sauces and a variety of options. I was super impressed with the kimchi cause well I'm very picky about that kind of stuff. It's not mama parks kimchi but a very good substitute. I plan on getting food here pretty frequently so just letting you guys know. I will need a frequent buyers card- please! Oh and the staff was super friendly what more could you want? read more

I absolutely love Sesami. You don't often get food this fresh from a restaurant, especially a quick restaurant. I'm a vegetarian and they have great options including the Green Bowl and I like the "build your own bowl" option. The tofu is so delicious and always crispy. The veggies are super flavorful and plentiful. The best part... the orders only take 10 mins every single time. The sriracha aioli and the pickles are my favorite part. I hope this place sticks around for a long time. Also, the staff is super friendly every time I visit. Always willing to answer questions. Yummmm. read more

All I can say is WOW, WOW, WOW!! The establishment had been closed for most of 2020 so I was looking forward to trying it out. My only regret is I didn't try it sooner. I had the Sesami Chicken Flavor Bomb and my wife enjoyed the C-Town Crunch. I've worked in food service so I know some of the pit-falls of fast-casual dining. These folks get high marks all around. Everything was fresh, flavorful, perfectly cooked and seasoned. I arrived a few minutes early to pick up our meal and it was ready to go, no waiting. All COVID-19 restrictions in place with safe, easy pickup. Friendly greetings and great attitudes to boot. You must try this restaurant so they can flourish and grow. Your welcome :) read more

The food is delicious! The BBQ chicken is phenomenal, and the tater tots munchies are really fun and yummy. Friendly owner and staff, very clean (not to mention they are following all CDC Covid safety recommendations). The service is fast, I ordered online on their website and the food was ready for contactless pickup in 10 minutes. Prices are reasonable, and honestly you get a lot of bang for your buck (large portions). One build your own bowl will get me 2 lunches! Looking forward to my leftovers tomorrow :) I'll definitely continue to support this neighborhood gem. read more

Highly recommend, great value. Large portion and only $1.75 extra to add another protein; their single protein portion is already large. Ingredients are very fresh. Pork and chicken are both very well marinated, tender and tasty. Bowls are ready within 10 mins of ordering. A bit far from me otherwise I'd get it every week. read more

When you buy a house 250 feet from a restaurant, you hope it's a good one. That's what we got moving in next to Sesami. Our family eats there at least once a week, esp. our pre-teen who has an obsession with the night market chicken and would be there daily if we let him. The bowls are delicious and filling, and the staff is friendly. I love the pillowy tofu, fresh veggie toppings, and authentic sauces. Especially during Covid, we feel lucky to be able to support a wonderful small business like Sesami. read more

His timbre precluded any conversation at my table .... but at least we were amused while devouring our lunch.

We focused mostly on the noodle dishes for this trip, and want to go back to try their other dishes (many which seem to be more geared toward the American palate, e.g, General Tsao's chicken). Deep fried dough sticks (you tiao) - 5*/5, I love these and have not found dim sum places in Chinatown that serve the light, easy to tear apart version of this anywhere and Sang Kee Asian Bistro does not offer this on their otherwise wonder dim sum menu. I am SO happy to find this and will be back again and again just for these. Along with some hot, sweetened soy milk to dip them in, this will be my special treat/snack go to item at Taste of Chang'an. Hooray! Pork & Chives dumplings - 5/5, these are very good dumplings and although I like the filling I make better, I am unwilling to make my own wrappers so I can imagine ordering these for takeout in the future as an appetizer for a party. Hot & Sour soup - 4/5, good overall but could use more hot and more sour. I appreciated how the broth was actually not broth and not as gummy as some hot and sour soups can be. Changan Biangbiang Noodles - 4/5, I appreciated the hand pulled noodles but found the ratio of pork belly pieces to the amount of noodles to be too low so after eating my way half through the bowl I had only noodles left. Flavors are good, but the next day I did not want to eat my leftovers which is a sign. Pork Ribs Noodles - 4/5, my son had this and he and I agreed the pork ribs were more flavorful than the pork belly pieces in my noodles. He also had many leftover noodles with no more meat, and did not want to eat the leftovers. Sauteed Spicy Chicken Noodle - 4/5, my husband had this and it looked more like a chicken/green pepper dish on a bed of noodles. Leftovers had a good ratio of all items in the dish and I did eat these the next day for lunch. When I go back, I'd like to try their zha jiang noodles, pork buns, scallion pancakes, and their other dishes. And I am so happy to have found somewhere on the Main Line where I can pick up fresh, hot you tiao!

i ordered the Kimchi Tots, and I don't know why but they are very soggy, it feels like I'm just eating baby food with beans and edamame. the chicken was barely cut. I did also order the mini bowl the chicken was barely cut and The rice was burnt. I hope I just got them on a bad day or something but I will follow up and do another video for my tik tok review on this food store, I hope that they fix these soggy tots. read more

Tiny lot on a corner -- many businesses have come and gone from this location, but I truly think Sesami is here to stay. Their food is AMAZING. There's so much flavor and so many different ways to eat everything if you make your own bowl.
