I had minor flooding in my kitchen, which turned out not to be so minor. Worked with my insurance for remediation for the water damage. They were at onsite immediately. Richard was the first to come out to do the initial damage control, Randy did the remediation work. They did great work, but Richard went above and beyond and coming to check on things and making adjustments where necessary. read more

I really can't recommend this company for minor damage due to mold. My experience was poor, and I wound up not using them based on the details included below. They might be great for mass damage due to aggressive mold and long-term damage, but for a small job not billed through insurance, I would look elsewhere. After a fiasco in getting on the schedule (it was always check with scheduling and then waiting days for someone to get back to me), I hadn't even received a written quote or scope of work. Two wonderful gentlemen showed up as promised and proceeded to go up to the impacted area. It was a small area next to the shower that was not properly kept clear of water and subsequently rotted and grew mold.) One was putting down plastic on the stairs and the other proceeded to let me know that all they would be doing that was removing the vanity, the 4ft drywall and knocking out the shower. WHAT?? I told him that is not what was discussed. Not once in the conversation I had during the initial consult was I under the impression I would need a complete bathroom remodel once this was done. He paused and said he would call the project manager. Shortly after I halted the work, I received a call from Indy to review what was going on. He recanted our initial meeting and conversation. I corrected him and told him we only discussed removal of the vanity, toilet and a 4ft section of drywall. I told him it was unimaginable that before even looking behind the impacted area they would just demolish the tile shower and vanity and that I hadn't even received a written estimate or scope of work. He said he would send one over and confirmed my e-mail address. I received the quote, almost $1200 more than what he said the high range would be in our initial conversation and it included removal of the vanity, the 4ft piece of dry wall, the ceiling, insulation, and shower. (The verbal quote from the initial consultation was between $1200 and $3400.) I promptly went out and told the gentlemen that we were not moving forward, and they proceeded to remove the plastic I had stopped them from laying down. Fast-forward to later that afternoon, I contacted another company who subsequently came out the following Monday. On the same day, they remediated the mold, treated the area to prevent it from coming up and flushed out the vents and ducts in the house to ensure clean air. It was discovered that the damage was superficial. The drywall was intact except for the exterior paint, the insulation and framing studs were intact, shower unaffected. Surface and air tests confirmed mold was remediated. I now have a contractor, replacing less than a 2-foot piece of drywall and the baseboard. The shower and vanity are intact and mold free. I would caution anyone agreeing to such an extreme plan of remediation from Serv Pro of Tracy. After no more than a 10-minute look, including an air test and some photos, they were going to cause more damage than the water leak/mold had. I will say that the quote, once I received it was comprehensive and thorough, but it's something I should have received before people showed up to work and not created and sent after they had arrived, and I questioned their tasks. It is unfortunate that this was apparently not the first time this had happened to these guys sent out to do the work. Mold exists everywhere, even in "mold-free homes". It is only when it is concentrated and at a high level that it is dangerous. Use caution when using ServPro, they are very aggressive and would have been overly destructive. They may be used to just billing insurance, but we all know how rates in CA are rising and companies even leaving. Do your due diligence and contact some other companies. I completed my work, got what I believe to be more protection moving forward and including the general fixing of the wall and baseboard, saved about 1/2 of what I was quoted for unnecessary work. Should I decide to sell, I have confirmation of remediation and a proper warranty. read more

We had a leak in the drain pipe behind the bathroom wall and it leaked out into our living room, hardwood flooring etc. Randy came the very day I called him. Well if COVID-19 wasn't bad enough! So we were away for only 4.5 hours and returned to a whole first floor flood!! OMGosh water is not our friend. We had water damage in our home and were looking for a company to do the repairs. The first company my husband found was ServPro. Their website was professional and they seemed like a reliable company so we gave them a call. My husband called the local ServPro number midday to schedule an appointment. The agent said he was at a job and for my husband to call again after work. My husband called again after work and the agent said he was still at the previous job and would come by our house in about an hour. After waiting two hours my husband called and it sounded as though the agent forgot. He said he could come right away but it was too late at night at that point. The damage was in my sons room and it was already past his bed time. The agent then said to call back tomorrow to schedule. Why he couldn't just schedule an appointment ahead of time is beyond me. In any event, we did as instructed. My husband called the next day during his lunch to schedule and the agent asked if he was free at that moment. Seriously? Again, my husband was supposed to call back AGAIN after work but we were tired of that game and decided to just call someone else. They start off as being nice business owners and give you their complete attention and tell you they won't bill you for certain things but when you get the bill they charge you for ridiculous things. So pay attention to your bill and question every charge. The owner showed up for an hour each time for three days then charged for 2-3 hours a day (shady). When I questioned him he thought speaking above me was going to fix the problem. The owner enjoys over charging my insurance, his solution to everything was "bill it to your insurance". While they did a great job fix the mold issue we had, the other damage they left behind and missing shower parts, were not okay. They took the shower out and took the brand new shower head and faucet nobs? We told them we wanted to keep them but, they're gone. Also, when sealing off the room, the used large staples around the door frame. When the removed the plastic, they ripped off chunks of paint/ texture, so now we're left with HUGE patvjes of drywall exposed...that they refused to mix. My husband and I had bought our first home together in November of this year and finally had our first housewarming party scheduled. The week of we noticed downstairs (which is where the location of most of our bedrooms are) the carpet was wet in the entry way to the bedrooms. As these bedrooms are not yet occupied and more of spare rooms, we did not notice any water until probably a week or so into the water accident. We were unsure of where the water was coming from, but, Our master bedroom is upstairs and the bathroom shower and sink plumbing shares the walls to the downstairs bedrooms. When we went into the spare bedrooms on each side of the wall sharing them the carpet was soaked! More so on one side then the other. We had difficulties with our insurance getting a plumber out right away but ended up getting one later in the day the following day. Meanwhile let me tell you I have about 100 people coming over in a couple days for a party. The plumber came and of course could only by our home warranty take care of the actual plumbing issue. What was next? We needed someone like RANDY to come help us. Let me tell you, what a relief that he was able to come that night. After a long day of work Randy was actually on his way home for the night but was so kind and came out for a late visit, fans and dehumidifiers put in the same day to help dry walls and carpets. He ALSO did not work the next day but offered to come by and see how it was working and how the walls and carpets were doing. SO HELPFUL, so nice and so understanding, with great communication skills and very personable. He put both me and my husbands minds at ease. I highly recommend servpro, especially if everyone you deal with is like Randy.. You will have such a pleasant experience under the crappy circumstances. Thank you Randy!
