We found out when we purchased our house the previous plumbers had not connected the only shower to the sewer system. A temporary fix was installed, but all the pipe was rotted cast iron underneath the bathroom area. There was no p trap so the sewer smell was non-stop. We called Simpson out for a quote and they provided an extremely fair price for two days of work to replace all the cast iron with ABS. They managed to fit a p trap underneath in the tight space. They had to cut a concrete slab, and managed to replace the toilet flange without removing any bathroom flooring. A project that should have probably been a full remodel ended up being only a plumbing fix. The lead, Aaron, was extremely kind, knowledgeable, and considerate. I felt like Simpson did everything possible to make the project smooth and reduce the life disruption. I highly recommend them for your plumbing needs. read more

2 shutoff valve repairs were completed last week. Plumber came out knowing it was a valve repair replacement. Quoted $350 for parts and repair. Problem was plumber didn't have the parts. My husband had purchased the valves prior to service. He asked if he could use the ones he purchased and asked what the price would be since plumber was using his parts. Plumber called his boss and his boss said no change in price. This repair needed to be complete without waiting another week so he did the work full price with our parts. Plumber did a good job, however management should have considered a small discount based on them using homeowners purchased parts. This shows poor customer satisfaction in their business practice and I feel the price was too high for work completed in 45 minutes. I would not recommend them based on their lack of integrity. read more

We recently moved in with my mom, and as our refrigerator is larger and has an ice maker and water line feature, we decided to use ours since it would be a good fit for all. Unfortunately the kitchen didn't have an "ice maker box" hook up for us to use. Luckily we saw a Simpson Plumbing truck in the area and decided to give them a call. Juan came out and took a look at our situation and what we were looking to do and gave us a couple of quotes: One if we opted to use PEX [cross-linked polyethylene] piping, and TWO if we opted to go with copper piping. Since the house is raised up vs built on a slab, we opted for the copper piping. Juan had also discussed with us that he would do his best to minimize the damage to the wall area behind the refrigerator [in order to put the ice box in], and that they don't do drywall repair work but that they recommend Fresh Coat Painters of Central Valley to do the work and left us their number to get a quote from afterwards. We scheduled the work and a week later, Juan arrived onsite promptly and after he geared up went straight to work crawling under the house to run and mount the piping on his own. Once he was done under the house he changed out of his "under the house gear" and came into the kitchen to tackle the job of opening up the wall to attach the ice maker "box". He did a great job and cleaned up the mess [not that there was much] from cutting thru the drywall, and once he was done with that he went and showed me the opening he had made and how the ice maker box fits between the studs perfectly. Once the supply line was hooked up to the new water line and the refrigerator, it was just a matter of running the water thru the line to bleed the line of air bubbles. Prior to the work it had been discussed with us that they do not do replacement drywall work afterwards but that they would do as careful a job as possible to minimize the additional cost we would incur to get the wall repaired. As I mentioned, Juan did a great job and cleaned up afterwards leaving barely any trace he had been there, except for the smile on my sons face later that afternoon when he went to the kitchen and saw that he could now get a glass of water whenever he wanted vs looking for a bottle of water. read more

Our leaks have been fixed! Our water bill shot up in the month of January. I put in an online request for service from Simpson Plumbing last Tuesday night (after hours) and Francisco showed up Wednesday morning at 9am. Our condo was built in 2016. The leaks were in the piping that runs about five feet from the Tracy meter to the edge of our house. One of the leaks (the smaller) had already had somebody attempt to repair. The other (larger) leak was near the meter and was caused by an overtightened fitting. Francisco did a great job finding and repairing both leaks, he worked hard and gave me updates as he worked. The job estimate cost was on par with three other companies that I got bids from. I chose Simpson Plumbing because of the reviews on Google and Yelp, and the fact that they were local (located in the town in which I live in). The job was to install a water loop along with a new whole home water filter. It took them four attempts to get the job done correctly. The first time, they did an install, but it needed to be corrected. It took them three more attempts to finally get it done correctly and without leaks. I do want to say that the technicians were very courteous and polite. I spoke to the owner about this issue, which only apologized to me and said that the issue may have been the items that were installed. Come to find out, the issue was not with what was installed, but with how the pipes were installed. That didn't settle too well with me, but it is what it is. If I were to have any other plumbing work done, I would try another company based upon the experience that I had. read more

Very disappointed in the service from this company. They fixed the leak - great. Within the scope of work was to do a brushed finish of the concrete to look similar to the driveway. We know it won't be exact, but come on, this is a joke. Escalated to Brandon, didn't hear back, spoke to Ruth, and she told us to basically to go fish. Check out the workmanship after paying $1600 for a crappy job. See the picture after a week of the concrete being dry. They could have even put a slurry over the top to make it cleaner. Botch job, a weak company with no form of customer service, empathy or expertise for a job that now we know was way beyond their expertise. Be warned and stay away. I was given a time window, so I took that part of the day off from work. Come apt time, I didn't receive any calls, so I attempted to call their office multiple times. No answer or calls back. That night I received an quote for camera scoping (something I'd already had done). I called and left another message and then emailed. I received a call back explaining their mistake and asking if they could meet me back out there in a couple days, so I did. Took that morning off also and met them for the apt. Went well and they said they'd send me an estimate the next day. Didn't receive anything, so I called their office a week later. Said they would send it to me soon. 2 weeks later, I still haven't heard or received anything from them. Curious what the heck happened to their great service that I read about on Yelp. I cannot recommend Simpson Plumbing highly enough. The professionalism and quality of work and attention to details was superb. Where I had challenges, they offered solid options and pathways forward. To set context, they were installing gas and water line runs as well as a drainage run for my hardscaping / kitchen island project in the backyard. They had to dance around some less than convenient spaces and runs of other lines nearby, and found great ways to accomplish just that. They constantly kept in mind that this work is precursor to other parts of my project, and flexed their schedule to keep all the entangled interdependencies moving, including permits and inspections. On a personal front, all of the crew I interacted with were awesome. They knew their stuff, never minded talking through their work and explaining the what's and why's, and were just the kinds of guys you'd go have a beer with. My rental house needed a water heater inspection and possibly replacement. Since tenants were in hurry I had to call this company instead of my usual plumber in trivalley. They quoted about $250 more than what I paid in San Ramon few months ago for same capacity same brand water heater replacement. I requested for discount, gave me $100 off if job is done today. I agreed. These guys need 10% non refundable deposit to even get job scheduled. No one asked me such thing in the past. Called me multiple times to get payment. First time I felt like car sales men are better than these guys. After job is completed the same afternoon, installers didn't inform tenant that it's done- they just left. Ruth, the lady that handles phone calls kept on calling me for final payment even after I told her I need to ensure my tenant is happy with installation and I will pay today evening. She started on pestering for taking credit card number. Escalated to her manager Brendon, he is also the same. He was even threatening to put a lien on the house if I don't give credit card number on the phone. Not sure if they sell credit card information to others but I felt odd why they would want card number when I am ready to pay via invoice. I don't see why they could not wait an hour or two to get paid either. Something fishy there. Both Ruth and Brendon acted very unprofessionally, rude in their conversations with me. I would never hire them again ever. If anyone is considering them and want my opinion - feel free to reach out. They delivered, installed, hauled away the old heater, checked for gas leaks and water damage. When I called Simpson Plumbing, no one answered and I had to either leave a message or book an appointment online. When booking online, an appointment was not available for 2 weeks. My situation was not too urgent so I booked it. When the guy came, he wrongly assessed the problem and said they would email me an estimate. Two weeks later, I never heard from them again. When I called Knight's, a pleasant lady answered and set me up with a next day appointment. They continued communicating with me until their techs arrived. Robert was very knowledgeable and fixed the problem (which was fairly significant) in about 90 minutes. They did a FANTASTIC job and made me feel valued and cared for through the whole process. Full disclosure: I never met the technician because my FIL dealt with the team while I was at work. I talked to the office and made all the appts tho I am so impressed because the technician was in and out and pricing was very reasonable. I needed water softener I bought installed for my house. I have called several plumbers for this and none of them came even close to pricing wise! The only "complaint" I have is that Sometimes it took a little longer to hear back. Brandon apologized and let me know that the office was short staffed lately but that everything should be back to its speed once they hire more help. Work wise, someone came out the same day when I called and sent me an estimate. Once the invoice was approved, I was able to get the appointment for the next day and everything was nicely done! We had a clogged up sink and a toilet that was leaking water out the back. Simpson Plumbing come out and they fixed the sink that day and gave us a few estimates for the toilet. Logan installed our toilet this morning and he was fast, efficient and courteous. Their estimate system is extremely convenient, they sent the quotes via email where you can accept them there and Simpson reached out again to schedule a date. I really appreciate their communication, we received text messages when our plumber was on the way as well as email notifications. We spoke to the dispatch girl about not being charged a diagnostic fee she asked to send me a picture of the shower we needed fix. The technician showed up first thing out of his mouth was $115 diagnostic fee!! "UPDATE" 30min after leaving my house they called me back explaining and apologizing for the miscommunication with dispatch. They came right back out the next day repaired my shower and went out of there way to pick up a part I was missing!! All businesses make mistakes but very few work to remedy the situation. I believe he had issues with my plans to get a permit since it was a total down to studs bathroom remodel on the second floor. I called to install a water softener alternative(no salt) and I was told we need to have pre plumbing for water softener installed for them to install the water softener. And cannot install if there is no pre plumbing. I was disappointed as to why was plumbing service provider telling me to have things pre plumbed. That is what plumbers do. Our original reason for contacting Simpson plumbing was to fix a kitchen faucet that was spewing out water from the back of the head (turns out it was a super easy fix, just twist the head and re-insert a new O ring). Luckily they also offered dishwasher installation service as well! We bought a dishwasher from Lowe's (they didn't offer an install service), so we needed someone to also put in our new dishwasher.
