I called and spoke to the owner about a bad clog in my shower. His son came by and tried to unclog it. The owner proceeded to tell me he would need to either get up on the roof or May need to replace my plumbing under the home. I asked how much will this cost and he quoted me $2k-$4k in work, without looking at it himself. I called another plumbing co in Redwood City and they cleared the clog within 12 mins and charged me $275. I called PopNGo for an issue with our showerhead. The owner sent his son to the job. Was charged $160 to tell me that either the temperature valve or the entire shower installation needs to be replaced. I was told having the valve replaced may not be the actual issue but can be verified. However, the part must be replaced first to see if it would solve the problem. I declined for the time being as I am aware there might be a way for me to get the part for free from the manufacturer. Took him a while to put back the shower handle, during which, the assistant has to turn the outside water shutoff valve on and off several times. The way I see it, he wasn't very familiar with the 15 year-old fixture I have at home. During the diagnosis, the son had his assistant turn on/off the outside water shut valve to make sure water does not come out of the pipes while the showerhead was being diagnosed. I wasn't aware the water is supposed to drip from outside so i tried to turn shut the outside valve but it was lose so I left it alone. After the work was done, the tech and his assistant informed me that they have to charge me an additional $275 in order to fix the outside shut off valve because I caused it to get lose (and even lose the screw that holds the handle in place, even if i saw the screw in there when I saw it), even if it was already lose by the time I saw it. Also the assistant has been turning it back and forth while the son/tech was at the shower stall fixing the faucet. Since it was already late at night and I didn't want any more argument, I went ahead and paid for the outside shutoff valve to be replaced. IMO, since nobody knows who did what, at least, in a good gesture of customer service, PopNGo should have shouldered half of the cost to replace the outside shutoff valve. So. If you intend to use PopNGo, please make sure the water shutoff valve outside is working properply and record a video of it in perfect working order. Just wanted to share. Thanks. read more

They focus on small to medium-sized jobs and are willing to offer and try the most cost efficient option. Other companies might not do that. There are times you don't fix it yourself DIY. This is when you need a professional and bonded plumber to do it and this is the man for you. I came home from my volunteer work to find my wife trying to dry our bathroom floor from being flooded. After surveying the damage, I found the problem was from the corroded ptrap pipe of our vanity being dislodged from the main drain line that goes inside the wall. It is also the main pipe of the other bathroom from across the wall. Easy fix, I told myself. Went out to buy the necessary parts and went to work on it. The problem really started when I could not dislodge the corroded pipe from the wall, even when I sprayed it with WD lubricant. This is when I told myself that I wouldn't want to risk damaging the main pipe because if that happens, the whole wall has to be ripped off to install a new drain system $$$. I call Joe and we set an appointment for the following day, a Sunday to come to the house. He follows it up with a call before the appointed hour. He surveys the work to be done which explained to me and also recommends to have a snake clear the main drain, since he already has access to it. He has a whole list of jobs to be done with the corresponding rates to which he gives me a senior discount. I make the decision before signing the paperwork - very professional and gets to work immediately after. His rates are very competitive and clearing my main drain is good for another 10 years as Joe tells me. Hiring Joe than fixing it myself gave me a sense of relief and peace of mind that if something went wrong, I would blame myself and will eventually cost more and definitely not worth the hassle. I sure was lucky today. I heard evidence of a heavily-leaking water heater just before I was ready to leave the house. Lucky I was home. Found that the water valve had rusted off and water was gushing everywhere. I was unable to reach the turn-off valve so had to crimp the hose in order to stop the deluge.
