I asked about the pipes under the house and they took pictures and explained the situation which involved pipes that were evidently installed by someone other than a professional plumber. I requested that they replace the pipes, which they did. I was pleasantly surprised by what they charged and how efficiently they worked. Had one of the plumbers come to my house with zero manners. Unexpectedly rude and crass. He spoke with a demeaning tone. Accused me of "breaking" my own plumbing. And said "who f*cked with this?". We had them do all of the valves in the shower 4 years ago and thought they might have a replacement part for the part that's clearly broken. ( on the inside) I sent pictures so that he would " have the right part". He said he didn't. Awful customer service. I wouldn't have this person in my house again. Short review: Quick response time, very professional, great price. Would highly recommend the business. Long version: I submitted a request for a plumber to find and fix a leak behind my shower wall first thing in the morning. Herk's plumbing was the first to respond so I called to schedule a time to come out. Initially the woman on the phone asked if I was available in the afternoon the following day, and I asked if there was anyway they could come out today because I was really hoping to get the leak fixed asap. After a brief moment on hold she told me that the owner would be able to come out within an hour or two. Herk dropped what he was doing and showed up to my house quickly to assess the leak and then went to get his work truck to come back and fix it. He was very professional and charged me what I thought was a more than fair price. I greatly appreciate the effort made to come out on such short notice to fix the leak. I have to use them many times they seem extremely honest and they try to do the best they can for you on the price.

I had an ADU project at my home and was referred to Herks. I was quoted a price and agreed to begin the project. After a few hours of busting up my concrete the plumber that was working the project told me that they wanted to charge me more money or they were going to leave the job. I agreed to an additional over $1,000 from what I was quoted. The plumber that was left here to do the job seemed very inexperienced and did terrible work. I also was told I was going to get a tankless Navien NPE-240A2 water heater. I just realized that they lied to me and installed the NPE-240S2 which does not have the built-in recirculation that I requested. After the inexperienced plumber they left here to do the work kept screwing up and taking more and more time out of ignorance the owner's son showed up on the next the last day and gave me grief because his plumber was lying to him because the job was taking him so long. The owner which showed up on the last day and he was very unprofessional and acted like a jerk because the plumber they had here lied through his teeth and was doing slow terrible work and put the blame on me somehow. Here I am thanking the water heater I bought and paid for was the model I wanted and now I see I was lied to about that as well. I did not recommend this company. Overall it was very unprofessional and they did very sloppy unprofessional work. I thought I was saving money using them and was given a deal initially and then my job was basically held for ransom to get more money out of me and they sold me a cheaper water heater that does not do what I wanted it to do. The guy who came out was able to arrive within 30 mins of my call, he was nice, and that's where the good ends. $250 for 40 mins of work is criminal. This is an industry that holds you hostage to your own repair needs. You get to choose between astronomical rates and sewage pouring into your house. He left me to repair and fix the pipe he dug up and knocked a hole into fire the rooting. Told me to unfold a soda can, use that to cover the hole, and then just pile dirt on top of it. For $250 you'd think the repair guy could do that little bit of repair. I would highly suggest replacing your dispatcher (who seemed very annoyed to have to field my call early on a Sunday morning.... get a different job?) position with a customer service representative position, who actually has knowledge of the company and can answer questions before being charged for a site visit. When asking about services or pricing, she said she was just the dispatcher and didn't know any of that, but this morning discussing that the problem wasn't solved yet, she seemed to know everything about the process and prices. Just another skeezy tactic to get them out to your house and charge you for the visit. I challenge you to be better, but you won't because $$$$ Edit for response: You bet I'm complaining! People are poor! I had to choose between having sewage in my house and being able to poop and pee, vs eating something other than Ramen for the next few weeks. If you don't want to work on the weekend then close up shop and don't work on the weekend. Grocery stores don't charge extra for being open on the weekend. Gas stations don't charge extra for being open on the weekend. Thousands of businesses are open on the weekend and they don't charge anything extra. Your response reads like "Well, we pillage, plunder, and steal less than other pirates, so you should be thankful." AND the bathtub is still draining slowly so you didn't fix anything. Our house is 90+ years old and has needed a lot of work. We have used Herk's several times: to replace all of our old piping, fix a leaky faucet, install a water and gas line. Each time they were kind, quick and professional. I called Herks. they were prompt efficient and we were very happy. called them again for a follow up on an item they recommended. they took my filter apart and I asked how much the bill would be they said over $400. OK, for anyone looking for a good plumbing company, this is it! I had a terrible, foul sewage smell in my bedroom and couldn't figure out where it was coming from. I called Herk's and they sent a guy within a day of calling, he was friendly, not over talkative, and discussed everything with me and took the time to even look at another issue I was having. He crawled under my home and within minutes, confirmed where the smell was coming from and told me how it would need to be fixed. I set the appointment and he was back in two days from the original call and fixed the issue within an hour. I have their number now locked in my personal cell to use them for ALL FUTURE PLUMBING ISSUES. Cliff was my technician and he is awesome! The service I had from Herks was in late April 2025, so SORRY for this late review. I had used Herks before and was pleased with their work. This time I had a toliet that was stopped up, sometimes working, sometimes it wouldn't flush water/waste down. The owners son, (I am sorry, but I have forgotten his name) came out and did a free estimate. Turns out he "snaked" the toliet and found a toliet bowl refresher clip that had fallen into the toliet. He immediately got to work and provided fair estimates for installing a new kitchen faucet, fixing two randomly running toilets, and a new water heater. Well my shower was leaking in the upstairs bathroom so I decided to open wall up and figure out what was leaking. It ended up being the actual water valve I've never replaced one my self so decided to call Herks plumbing. The lady from Herks was very pleasant and made me appointment and ask to send her pictures so plumbers can see what's going on. On the day of appointment Herk jr called before he showed up and was on time. He had another guy with him sorry didn't get his name. Both were very professional and easy to talk to. They figured out the problem quickly and started working. They took there time and didn't rush! That was greatly appreciated. Herk knocked out the new valve and left no mess behind. He called me up to show the finished results and it was a 100 times better than my old tired valve and handle also new shower head. A week went bye and everyone was happy to use the shower again upstairs and I was surprised with a phone call from the nice lady at Herks asking how everything has been going. Nobody does service like this anymore! I mean these guys were great, on time, easy to talk to and 100 % professionals. Thanks for coming to our home in Ceres and taking care of us.
