Frustrating experience because it was incredibly busy. The board read 104 minutes maximum waiting time, and it took me all of that in order to get and finish my 2 minute transaction exchanging vehicle registration for address change. I wish they had a queue just for quick transactions like mine. While I was there, they cut off G1 testing at 12 (this is one of very few ServiceOntario locations that also does just G1 testing, with no roadtest offered here). They have a monitor and automated voice prompts that tell you the next number they're serving. The numbers are not sequential, so it was frustrating waiting for B1027 to show up.... when I started it was B1019 and most of the numbers served were A series or S series numbers so I had no idea where I was in the queue or if it was safe for me to even get food. The waiting area is surprisingly large, you'd never suspect it looking from the entranceway outside. It's quite modern in design and has been nicely renovated recently. It feels like a fancy airport waiting area more than it does a government service office. Don't be like me - set up an appointment online beforehand for priority service!

I'm not a life hacker. I do not make bureaucratic appointments and giggle over the time I save. I show up places and hope for the best. This doesn't make me cooler than you brainiacs, it's just a different approach, and guess what? At Service Ontario, they don't make it tougher on my kind... in fact, I was in and out in under thirty minutes. I needed my health card renewed, and the process was very easy. Minimal paperwork, minimal wait, pleasant staff. Just be sure you're armed to the gills with proof of address mail if you've moved recently, and you're all set. Enjoy your free health care, Ontario! You deserve it!

Book an appointment online. You will sail through. There are a lot of spaced-apart seats and good air flow in this large space.

I literally cried after doing hours of paperwork. I'm homeless and I came 2 hours to get here. they have no idea why not respecting ppls time and their own hours is a problem. Just shake their heads like they don't care about anyone but themselves. I almost threw my drink and got another charge. I hate this place. so incompetent and their blame culture is sickening. They r the exact type of ppl that can make a regular disadvantaged person go crazy and do things they wouldn't typically. I have no idea why they act so above everything and it's clear they hate their jobs but damn fine just give the job to someone like me who would care and help and want to service everyone and anyone then. These people suck. They think theyre all the police and have the right to do anything. smug and entitled.

The 1st time I went there I was quite lost about filing a motion to my case, so I talked to a person called Wally (according to another worker) He literally states: ''what do you want me to do?'', ''I can't do anything'', ''we do not give legal advice or call no one'', ''Go talk to your ex and you ask him to pay the owed amount'' (I was in a domestic violence situation). The 2nd time I went to ask for my file which took like 2 weeks to arrive. The 3rd time, yesterday was awful! I went to pick up my file and asked to file a motion to the guy that attended me; my bad luck this worker calls Wally and gives him my file, I asked him: ''I need to get a copy of my file and file a motion'' immediately he interrupts me and do not listen to me, saying ''No we cannot help you'', ''Go somewhere else!'' I was so upset I told him I'm not talking to him anymore because he is so rude, ignoring me and talking and laughing with other workers in my face, I was like this stupid behaviour from adults? I talked to a nicer girl at the entrance that told me ''You can file a motion, but it is gonna get rejected'' I left! and hopefully I never go there anymore! It is alarming this behaviour, the lack of communication and the time wasted there, so beware and if they are rude to you SPEAK UP!!! attached pic of Wally

I was assessed by this lady officers' four work colleagues, and upon arriving at the station-I was then fingerprinted by a brunette lady officer who was in very good spirits along with her 3 work colleagues-I might add that they all treated me well considering that they were very tired from I am sure from an extreme long day and, most likely a very long day. I am very grateful the officers at the station that include Officer Terry Allen, whom took fingerprints upon my arrival. Great work officers!!. JP Preston.

As a Black woman living in the City of Toronto, I have experienced firsthand the painful truth that…read moresystemic racism and anti-Black bias remain deeply embedded in our institutions -- especially within the Toronto Police Service. What happened to me on October 31st, 2025, is a reminder that even when Black people follow the law and seek help, we are too often criminalized instead of protected. That day, while returning home to 325 Bleecker Street, and I was physically assaulted by a white male tenant. I did not know his name at the time. He blocked my access to the elevator, and when I politely said "excuse me," he began swearing at me and then violently grabbed and shook my shoulders. I immediately called the police and filed a report (#25-2287454, 51 Division, Detective Turnbull). I informed the officers that the entire assault was captured on the building's security camera, yet no one followed up to view the footage. A full week passed without any police contact, a clear sign that my report was not taken seriously. My safety as a Black woman was disregarded. Then, on November 7th, I encountered the same man in the lobby of my building. Fearing for my safety, I called my daughter and asked for help. My sons came downstairs to escort me to my apartment while I sat in my mobility scooter. One of my sons reacted to the man who had previously assaulted me, and he called the police again. This time, the officers from 51 Division arrived and actually reviewed the security footage -- footage that clearly shows me seated in my scooter and not assaulting anyone. Yet, despite this evidence, the police viciously handcuffed me and charged me with assault, while the man who physically attacked me continues to face no accountability. The female arresting officer referred to me as a "gal," a term historically used to demean and dehumanize Black women during slavery. Her tone and conduct were humiliating and degrading. She went as far as instructing her partner to physically force me to sign release papers. Her behaviour made it painfully clear that some Toronto Police officers harbour deep contempt for Black people -- a reality that has been proven repeatedly but is continually ignored, dismissed, or minimized by both the media and the justice system. How many more Black lives must be ruined, violated, or taken before these injustices are acknowledged? How long will this city allow officers who clearly display anti-Black attitudes to continue policing our communities? I am a volunteer crisis responder who provides emotional support to people worldwide, yet this experience has left me emotionally scarred and seeking support myself. The trauma of being assaulted, dismissed, and racially dehumanized by those sworn to protect me is unbearable. We are not "gals." We are human beings. Our Blackness should not determine whether our lives, pain, or safety matter. It is time for Toronto to confront this truth -- and to finally deliver justice that includes and protects Black people.

However, by 8:25 there were probably 10 people behind me. When the doors opened at 8:30 the first woman in line took off to the other side of the office, which left me first up. I took a number but still ended up having to wait 10 minutes for the first clerk to be ready. She was your typical union government employee; Grumpy, not friendly at all, just doing her job to the letter of her job description. She put in the minimum amount of effort to answer my questions. Once I had filed my papers and gotten everything stamped, I was sent down to the 9th floor to the Family Law information office to get the paperwork for step two. The security guards at the entrance were really nice and friendly. We chatted for a minute or two while I went through the screening procedures. What a world of difference between the 10th floor and the 9th. The two people working in the information office were awesome! So friendly and nice and walked me through the next procedures very thoroughly. They answered all my questions above and beyond. As great as an experience as I had with the staff I don't look forward to going back, but I'm relieved that some of the staff understand that people aren't coming in under the best of circumstances and try to make the best of a bad situation for you.

Attending for motions or case conferences is not as painful as filing documents as they are usually scheduled beforehand. Even so, the said motions and case conferences rarely begin on time. Filing documents on the 10th floor is a nightmare as there is always a substantial wait time. They need to adopt a rule whereby those who are not prepared are sent to the back of the line as these individuals cause a substantial delay. Outsourcing management of this operation would also be helpful as the staff tends to work painfully slowly under the ministry. Overall, send a process server, and generally try to avoid this place whenever possible.
