A senior customer after I paid $ 7,123.00 for 2 huge brand new slabs of Quartz That resymbles Marble The service Master employee instructed a senior citizen to they had to purchase 2 huge slabs in order to remodel kitchen counter & backsplash in. Reality they only needed 1 slab. When they were finished with the kitchen restoration they said they had a small left over piece if the 2 nd slab and asked me if I would like to donate the small left over piece to charity to someone less fiortunate I asked service master Huntington Beach if I did donate it would they reimburse me they said NO. So I said no I did not want to donate it so they delivered an entire huge slab of the 2 nd huge slab of Quartz I purchased there. Delivery man broke off the corner edge I complained to the manager he said there employee was mistaken telling me I purchased the square footage instead of 2 slabs they did not take responsibility on damaging my new Quartz slab saying I could sell it on offer up I'm a senior that was taken advantage of. This went through my insurence that paid service master Huntington Beach they said the payment they received from my insurence company was acceptable for restoration then they charged me a additional $ 29,000 out of pocket providing my receipts as paid in full however they. This is an update to a previous review. The update is that things continue to get worse with this crew. As we've moved back into the home, and see more of the shoddy work service master did. Mismatched paint, paint on the floors and fixtures. The replaced showed has corners that don't fit, so they showed them together hoping we wouldn't notice. Seriously, do not have this team do your work. Not only will your home not be returned to the state pre incident, but it will most likely be worse off. And you will have to hire other professionals to fix what they did. I'm amazed this group is even allowed to still do business. Everyone on their team are charlatans and probably crooks. I say this because I know good construction, and this is definitely not worth what my insurance company paid them for. But when the SM people show up (if they show up, I should say) you'll see them decked out in gold watches and cheesy jewelry. So, that's probably where your money went. I had an issue with the plumbing in my house that caused water damage. Contacted service master to get some help. Let me just say their service is amazing and they are quick responders. Their tech Adi did a great job at explaining everything and getting my damage situated. I have tried other companies in the past with very poor outcomes but with service master you can tell that they take their work very serious and close to heart because they never leave you in the dark with what's going on and you if any problems or delays should arise they inform you right away. Not only did they tear apart the house, they tore up tiles in my kitchen dragging their machines in and out. I sent pictures, their tech took and sent pictures, I got estimates for the repair cost, and this company did NOTHING. I then get a call from the "boss" Steve claiming he needs to come out and see the damage himself. It has been 2xs already that this guy does not show up! And 2xs that they give me an excuse of him having an emergency. They are extremely unprofessional, all they care about is the money, and I have made my insurance company well aware of the treatment and actions of this company. I found necessary to write a review and share with other people that may considering to hire this contractor about my horrible experience with ServiceMaster and their employees. This people are so unprofessional they lie to get the contract and once you agreed they don't care, I also found them deceiving because I hired them believing their employees were going to do they work, but I found out during the process they hire handyman to do the work, paid them minimum salaries but they charge premium fees. I had a water heather leak and I was recommended by my insurance to deal with the water damages, I made the mistake to hire them to repair the kitchen floors and bottom cabinets that was damage from the water leak believing this was going to expedite the process. I was told by Steve Lylly, that was going to be a two weeks project. (It took four months). My tenant was frustrated with this people canceling appointments or showing up late so, I agreed to take over and meet them my self, every time they had an appointment was either cancel or they show up late and once they arrive they always find away to leave withing a couple hours, , they couldn't install a small vinyl floors, so they had to redo it twice, I actually had to help the guys to carried the kitchen sink from the balcony to the kitchen because he said was to heavy, I can go on and one, I made sure my Insurance company is aware of the type of company they recommending i'ts horrible. read more

Service Master is a one stop shop. I had a grease fire situation about 2 months ago that caused the fire department to come down and put out the fire. The fire department cut through my roof, ceiling and made holes in my walls. Unfortunately it happed during the rainy season so not only did my house have fire/soot damage but it also had water damaged caused by the hole in the roof. My insurance company recommended I use ServiceMaster. My neighbor had a great experience with them on a previous project. I called and not even an hour later they had 2 technicians out. The technicians (Sergio and Alfonzo) put a temporary tarp on my roof to stop the rains from coming in the house anymore then what it did. The technicians also set up equipment to start drying things out. Not even 2 days passed and my house was packed out and placed in temperature controlled vaults and stored in their warehouse. Everything was professionally packed and labeled according to room and placement in the room. Demo started the very next day after they finished the contents move. In about a week they had everything dry as the technician was here everyday to check on the equipment. The technician mentioned they could also take care of the repair work. The construction manager (Bobby) wrote a repair estimate and helped get it approved by my insurance company. Bobby and his foreman Adi were very respectful as they helped me pick out materials. My roof was fixed. My walls were patched and painted as like they were before if not better. My floor looked amazing once they were done installing. New cabinets were installed to complement the newly painted walls and installed floor. Everything was treated with respect and sense of urgency. After everything I really appreciate everything ServiceMasters did. I highly recommend them for any project big or small going on in your home !!!! read more

This company is used by my insurance company to move furniture. They'd paid to move 3 pieces of furniture from one room to another and given me money to have it moved back. I got an invoice for both moves. When I called I found that they had charged 1.5 hours for each mover and a full day rental of the van they arrived in. Both minimum charges which should've been noted on the invoice. Turns out it's an agreement with the insurance company. Sad, but true. I sent the check. Two days later I get an invoice, no detail, for the amount I'd already sent. Okay, but with "Please send payment today". Since they went to the extra effort to highlight it in yellow, I thought I'd take the time to write a (rare) review. I wish I could give them a lower rating, but they were easy to schedule, showed up on time, and were in and out in less than 30 minutes. read more

Had a leak where another contractor left some uncaulked holes in the galvanized metal at the top of my chimney. It rained then it leaked into my attic. I recently had a fire at my house. The insurance company recommended ServiceMaster as the first response team to get things cleaned up after the fire department had finished putting out the fire. They were prompt, helpful and courteous. Alfonso was my initial contact. He is able to speak English and Spanish, which was comforting to both me and my Spanish speaking tenants. Alfonso let me know their initial game plan for the clean up and covering the roof that was damaged in the fire. The owner Steve contacted me shortly after that, and Steve was hands on, and my source of contact from that point on until the job was completed. I hired Service master when I had a water leak in my bathroom. Their service was terrible! Their equipment leaked more water on my carpet. My carpet is a mess. Worse than from the original damage. They didn't show up for many appointments and I had to leave work early to be here. Also when they were vacuuming the drywall dust their vacuum spewed dust throughout my home. Then they were supposed to schedule a time to do the repairs never returned my calls for 2 weeks! I kept getting the runaround! I was told when my call was finally answered I was told that he had 4 things on his list to do and I was #3. Not what you want to hear. I hired someone else to do the job. After being overcharged and misled about their service, I am now being harassed by them. I had to make payment arrangements (which I have honored faithfully and have never even been late) with them to pay off an egregious amount of money they charged to drop off my furniture, only to get a very stressful collection call every month like I never paid a dime. It's not bad enough that I was cheated out of over $2000, to add insult to injury, the woman, who shouldn't even be calling me is extremely rude and insensitive. After the fortune this company has made off of the damage to my families home, I have had to deal with horrible disrespect and downright terrible customer service. I had some water damage done and had gotten two estimates from this same company. the 2nd estimate was 770.00 over the first estimate. 30 days had not expired from the 1st estimate so when i called to get the lower estimate. No way, they refused to honor the first estimate but only the one that was almost 1,000 more. Don't trust a company with such different estimates on same job same areas. If I could give a lower rating I would...I was given their info by my home owners insurance company after my water heater leaked and flooded my laundry room. I was very disappointed in the treatment I received from Nicole and Josh. Nicole was very unaccommodating to my work schedule so I had my mom be there when they came to do the second check. Without calling me (the home owner) and notifying me of the work they were going to do Josh ripped out the bottom of my kitchen cabinets/baseboards and when they returned the next day I asked Josh if he can fix the damage. He said they had a construction manager that can give me a quote. I didn't understand how insurance worked with their construction so he had me speak with Nicole. Nicole told me I'd have to get a separate contractor to fix it. This was after Josh had told me they do construction. I told her Josh told me otherwise then she changed her story and said she would have to talk to the construction manager. Then as Josh was packing up his equipment I noticed that my wood flooring in the kitchen where he ripped out the bottom of the cabinets was scratched. When I pointed it out to him he said that was already there yesterday and that he had notified his office of it. To which I responded "no it was not". He proceeded to say that the dryer that was there and probably did the damage when he moved it back. First off the scratches are in an area that the dryer couldn't even reach because the laundry room door is in the way and the scratches run in a completely different direction then the dryer was in. Come to find out from my mom who was there when he was doing the demolition he used a sledge hammer and crow bar to remove the cabinetry/base boards which are consistent with the damage done to my wood flooring. I immediately reported the damage to my floor to my insurance company. My experience was awful and I will never use their services again nor would I recommend them to anyone. read more
