I ignored this bogus bill thinking it must be an error, but they sent it two more times. Finally, I called and they gave me the unpleasant news the bill indeed was THREE TIMES the agreed upon amount. To my further dismay they were not only trying to collect this inflated amount from me, but they were also billing my tenant from the damaged location. I told the woman they could speak to the folks from Repair Masters who were also there when Ben said $250, she said she would get back to me the next day. I didn't hear anything for weeks until I found out via email I had been sent to collections for $750.00. I promptly called ServPro rather confused and frustrated, and they said it's completely out of their hands now. I then proceeded to call the collection agency to explain my quandary and they said they will have to talk to ServPro to lower the amount. So, it turns out they were lying again, in fact it was completely up to them whether they charged me the correct amount or the fraudulent amount. Almost 10 business days later they got back to me that $250.00 would get it settled, but they would rescind that offer if I didn't pay within 4 hours. Important to note, they never performed any work so there was no reason for an increased amount. Further, the bid I received wasn't even correct. Ben drew up a gabled roof with 2 dormers when in fact the damaged property was a hip roof with 3 dormers. I even offered to meet them out there to verify this. If we had not caught this mistake on our end it would have cost me thousands of dollars on the insurance claim.

He was very kind and did a great job of calming me down and convincing me that everything would be taken care of. He sent someone out to put tarps over the holes in the roof until the tree could be removed and the roof repaired. He somehow did this in the dark. Then Steve came again to check the tarps over the weekend since rain was predicted. Repair Masters dealt with my insurance company and that went very smoothly. The crew who came to work on the roof were here promptly at 7am and were very professional. They finished what seemed to be a big job in a day and a half and cleaned up when they finished. I would highly recommend Repair Masters and Steve was especially kind and efficient.

I was shocked when the contractor showed up that day and on time. This has never happened with contractors I've hired in the past! I asked him to replace anything he saw that was damaged. He ran into other problems and he took care of them. He was professional, had a great eye for detail, and his work was very neat and sturdy. I was told it would take 1-2 days when I was given the estimate. The job was completed in a day and a half. It looks great! It came in just a little over the estimate due to the extra materials needed to complete the job properly. I believe the price was fair. I am looking forward to hiring this company for more repairs and remodeling on my home in the future. It means a lot to me that they actually showed up when they said they would and the cost was reasonable.

Shame on Stanley Steemer. 4/24 Review: Have used the Rockford Stanley Steemer before but, had a crew out on a recent Saturday to clean carpets, tile floor and, ended up adding cleaning of a leather couch while they were on the job. This was a pretty big job. 1. I was not quoted accurately for the couch cleaning and when the bill was tallied, I was charged a huge amount for a simple wipe down. 2. One of the crew members helped themselves to my mother's purse. Took the whole thing with them. While we missed pulling it out of the room where the couch was cleaned before they arrived, apparently too tempting. 1 crew member was on her own for an hour in that room and just took it! They TOOK a 92-year-old woman's purse. Her SS card, Veterans Admin card, cash, credit card, checkbook. We filed a police report, and I called the manager of the facility. I was not offered anything but a "sorry - hard to hire, staff is normally good...." Careful before you invite them into your home. Very disappointed and appalled.

The plumber discovered that there was in fact, debris, loose installation, wood chips, nails, drywall, and particles of other materials that were torn out from the demolition of the mold remediation project. The plumber left telling me that the lines needed to be jetted and that he would talk to Caleb about the follow up during that time. I asked Caleb to send me the report after spending hours of flushing, the sewer line out with my water ,which height my water bill $200 more than average.. I also had to call some heating and cooling assistance to do a vent cleaning which cost me over $1,800 along with all of the miscellaneous personal property that was flooded in the basement cost over $2000 which included yard tools, lawnmower, dining room table and chairs two twin size metal beds, a line, leaf blower, electrical weed, whacker and other miscellaneous tools. Caleb never sent the information about the follow up or evidence from the plumber and did not go forward with completely clearing out the debris his team had carelessly forced down into my sewer pipes. Caleb is very deceptive and his team has absolutely bad customer service . Caleb did not want to follow through with resolving the issue. His company has created Thousands of dollars of damage-during that period of them doing that tear out. They also ran off with my ladder and I had to complain to get it back which was It was a thief. Caleb completely ghosted me after I called him back after my basement flooded again almost a year later after a heavy storm. I was requesting the report from the original plumbers inspection, which I discovered that Caleb and the plumber had discussed father jetting of the sewer pipes to get all of the debris out, but Caleb did not go forward with the work, not taking responsibility for what his workers did and cost me detrimental property damage a year later . Caleb is very untrustworthy and does not keep his word after his workers causing damage to your property. He rather you take him to court after trying to resolve the issue with him He ultimately did not resolve anything. He chose to ignore the damage they created for me . His company has forced me to endure Financial hardship and had not continue to be a professional to simply resolve the original issue his company created.

I put it back together, but the water would no longer turn off so we had to keep the water to the entire house turned off. I called Ray's and they were not able to come out that night. The next day they were there within an hour of calling them. An hour later they had it fixed completely. The competition came out the night before and talked about putting valves in the basement, tearing out a bedroom wall to get to the back of the plumbing, and cutting through the shower wall! I knew this was not required because Ray's had switched out the other cartridge just a few months prior to this incident. The competition told me the cartridge was stuck and he may not be able to get a part since it was 8 p.m. He looked up the part and said it would be about $500 for the part and around the same for labor. I told him I'd call another plumber and deal with the mess in the morning. The competition charged me $189 to do nothing. Ray's charged me a total of $200 for parts and labor. I will never attempt plumbing DIY again and I will never use another plumbing service!

From the process of the estimate, to the contract, to even getting issues resolved--nothing but…read moreproblems, being interrupted by people, and quite frankly, some shady business practices. You should be well versed in contract law, paint colors, and triple check any paper against what is verbally discussed if you decide to use this company. Apparently they are very good at saying one thing and writing another. We'll start with the estimate. There is NO transparency in prices. If you watch your money or live on a budget at all--this is not the company for you. They show you photos of all these great doors, tell you to pick one, and then they'll start looking up prices...after they've talked your ear off about it for 30+ minutes, and you don't want to go through the entire 30 minute process again to guess the cost of another door. Simple list of A door is $X? They don't have it. I was told verbatim, "the brochures don't come that way." So apparently salesmen knowing the prices OR even the novel idea of using a pen to write down the prices hadn't occurred to anyone. We agree on the price, anyway, despite feeling like that was all a plot to hike the prices of the products. Slightly higher than others in the area, but we went with what we thought was an organized company. We requested the color that matched our siding. What I specified as the important part--that it match our existing siding. Not a problem, Brett says. We've got that. He writes down a color name. I'm not a door salesman. Or a paint salesman. I don't know one color name from the other. I just know he's shown me 9 colors and 57 doors and one is the color of our siding, plus that this meeting has gone on much longer than I expected an estimate over a door to go. That was in August 2023. The doors finally arrive from the supplier in February 2024. One possible date was given for install, so we took it, not feeling like there were a lot of options. They arrive (earlier than stated and sat in our driveway for a while before ringing the doorbell), and immediately start to work without even checking to ensure the product was correct. No, "would you look at these doors to make sure it's correct?" Nothing. I don't see the doors until they've got my old one already off and who knows where?! It's not like I can say "please put the old door back on because this isn't what I ordered." It's gone. The color: very much NOT the color of my siding. Grey. Blue grey. It's a great color of grey! Beautiful, really. The problem is: My house is brown. If you've ever looked at grey next to brown and kept from losing your lunch, I applaud you. The two are not even slightly complimentary colors. No one with any sense of a color palette--like someone who sells things in different colors for a living--could say these colors go together. So of course I am upset that I thought I was getting a beige/brown tone door and a blue/ grey one showed up. I call in to try to figure out what can be done. I am interrupted by Stacey. Repeatedly throughout this 30 minute call. Stacey doesn't understand why I would want to see the range of prices a product COULD cost before I buy it. Stacey doesn't understand why I might be upset that this is not the color I thought I ordered. Stacey assured me that even though she wasn't there, I was definitely shown every color in a correct representation and weighed my options. Stacey cannot tell me what comes next in the process of fixing this despite that I indeed tell her this is not the color I was *shown* in my house during the estimate and writing of the contract. Yet when I call back, I am told Stacey is the only person who can address this problem. So does Stacey know how to address the problem or does no one knows how to address the problem? Spoiler alert: it's no one. Which means I dig out the contract and the estimate, each of which actually list different colors but because the *contract* lists the incorrect color and obviously verbal remarks aren't worth the paper they're written on, they choose to uphold a piece of paper due to me not being able to correct the salesman that in fact, the color I asked for that matches my siding is called "heritage", which is beige, and not, in fact, "sandstone/beige", which is not beige at all, but grey. The verbal assurances that it would match the siding mean nothing--which, yes, may be contract law 101, but just another example of why you can't trust anything someone here says to you, nor do I think most of us would be able to correct door paint colors that are specific to a single supplier, having seen a single sheet of paper where we were unable to read the tiny font of the paint color, for under a minute, after saying "yes, this color matches my siding" and being assured "this is the color that matches your siding." So, know your paint colors, triple check your contracts, and never have an issue that you expect to fix, because they will help you with exactly none of this. They'll collect their $.

They booked me last minute, which was nice. When they arrived they said it would take a few hours to clean & polish. I opted not to polish and told them to yell when they were done cleaning. It was no more than 10 minutes they're calling my name. They said they were done. I was flabbergasted. The original phone estimate was $415 for cleaning only. The onsite guys adjusted it to $315 to reflect actual square footage. The finished floors were dull, streaked, many places not even hit with the cleaner. And the crevices were still dirty. The guys who came to clean were both very nice and tried to go over some places that I pointed out. But the crevices were my main concern and they looked no better. I called the manager and he said the machine is a surface cleaner not a crevice cleaner. All in all my floors would've looked better if I had just use my swiffer. I just spent $300 for nothing and now I'll still have to scrub it by hand. I would not recommend this company for hardwood floor cleaning.

In short, they ended up going downstairs and re-routed the sump to my sludge pit and the line became disconnected and discharged water all over my basement flooring. Jake authorized me to contact my insurance company to bring ServPro out and stated their insurance would cover it working through my insurance. I got the mess cleaned up and when I had my insurance company reach out to theirs, apparently Jake Ray & Sons had let their insurance coverage lapse. After Danielle Ray stated that they would reimburse me for the bill at approx. $500 per month until it was paid off, they refuse to make payment. Of course, I paid them for the work they did in a timely manner, but apparently they don't have the same integrity and are ignoring their commitment. So, now it's August 1st and I have to go to Sangamon County Small Claims Court to recover the amount both Jake and Danielle said they would cover. I would never, ever, recommend their services to anyone. Keep in mind, they may still be uninsured and their most recent post prior to mine was well over a year ago.
