While nothing about French drains or foundation repair is fun, exciting or cheap; we knew we had to get some of this work done to our home due to some minor flooding/cracks in the foundation. After doing some research and asking for bids, we decided to work with FRS since we knew they would do a thorough job and offer a nice warranty for their work. Not to mention how everyone we worked with was super helpful and friendly and they explained lots of things to us in ways that we could understand. When you are going to spend $$$ on something as massive as a french drain and foundation repair, you really want to make sure you have some of the best people to work with and FRS was it for us. Earlier this week, we had Dylan and Sam out at the house so they could work on the side to help us with drainage and repairing the foundation. I really have no idea how this is done, but they managed to do it in just under 3 days and took great care of the yard and our neighbors yard while they were working so they did not make a mess or damage anything. Knowing that these giant house repairs have been completed, I know that our house will be taken care of we won't be experiencing any more damage. I know they will come out again in the future to just check in to make sure everything is still working correctly and I feel secure knowing they will take care of anything thanks to the warranty they offer on their work.

Kurtis and his crew came out today to replace a portion of our dewatering system. We've had water…read moreissues in the area of the new section we had installed in 2019, two years after the original detwatering in our laundry area. After heavy rains we'd get water, we had technicians come out and they would recommend building up the foundation to draw water away from, we got new gutters, all the while while losing hundreds of dollars of flooring and furnishing. We sent pictures each time, and nothing seemed to work. Though during it all, no one thought to check the system itself, that is until Dave arrived in July. He actually put a hose to run water directly into the system and discovered that the water wasn't draining into our sump pump. Kurtis and crew were extremely polite and listened as my wife explained the problem. He had barely broken into the section of the concrete revealing an area where the new system wasn't even connected to the old. And he showed by my that no weep holes were drilled. He decided he was going to replace that entire section as he didn't trust the rest of the work. All these years, that water just dumped into the ground. His crew spent 5 hours replacing then entire new system and showed my wife what they did and why before concreting over. Kurtis has restored our trust in Helitech and NOW when it rains heavy we won't be anxious about water in the basement. Once I closed on the house, I called JRE Construction about the warranty/bill for the instillation because it was in the seller's name. I explained how my name was not on the paperwork and if there were any issues in the future, my name needed to be on the paperwork. The man I spoke with stated he knew the sellers of the house and if there was EVER an issue, to call him and they would fix it. For the past few months, I started to notice the sump pump was not working. I called JRE Constructions phone number from their website, (217) 691-8555 about 6 six times, leaving two separate voicemails. I emailed their website and drove by their business (Which looks abandoned). Not a word back. Avoid at all costs.

I learned early that I had to keep an eye on everything to make sure it was done correctly. The owner was pretty responsive to my complaints while the work was progressing and was unpaid, but once he was paid this changed. Shortly after I paid him I discovered that he failed to install to water feeder lines clearly required in the contract and he then claimed they were unnecessary and refused corrective action. With recent heavy rains water has accumulated in my crawl space where he failed to install the feeder lines and it will cost an estimated $2000 to $3000 to have this work done by another contractor and a lawsuit for any relief. Avoid at all cost.
