Rick Ray's plumbing came to my son's home to look a the backed up sewer. He ran the camera from the roof to the end of the line. He told me the line was not clogged. He was very honest. They worked on my neighbors plumbing and used a heavy skid steer in my driveway, they cracked my concrete, I've asked them to fix it they said they would 6 months ago and never did. It was not reinforced with rebar so they left my driveway uneven even though I didn't even ask for the service call they just showed up and tore up the old concrete in my driveway. They did a good job. I was not thrilled about the mess they left after their work. They showed up most the time when they were supposed to, but there were a few times they didn't and that set our project back. But mostly because of the messes left after they were done is why the 4 star. I think the work was 5 star. Showed up to my house recommending a brand new toilet without even diagnosing the problem at hand. Played around with the snake tool for about 3 to 5 minutes said there was nothing he can do without charging me $700 to reinstall and install the toilet so he can snake past the toilet drain he said it was impossible to sneak past the toilet with the toilet installed on the floor. read more

We purchased a new Tankless water heater from Rick Ray and they installed it in a very timely manner, however we had an issue with it not holding a constant temperature. We call Craig at Rick Ray and he came out and said we may have a bad valve. So they replaced it with another new one, it worked very well for a few months and then we started having the the same problem. We called then again and they came right out, we had another bad valve problem. To make a long story short, they replaced it with a new power vent water heater and solved the problem. We are very pleased with the service and professionalism of everyone we have been in contact with at Rick Ray and will be recommending them to others in the future. Replacing a sump pump is a time sensitive problem and Ricky Ray Sons responded quickly to complete the work. I called other plumbers and would of had to wait for weeks to have some one come out to replace the sump pump. Sewer had a blockage and it caused water to come back into the house. Called 3 separate contractors and they all said it wouldn't be until the evening they could be here(noon at the time of the calls) When I called Allied they forwarded me to Rick Ray. I called and the owner answered and within five minutes he connected to to one of his technicians and he headed towards us. Shane had our sewer opened and talked with me about measures we could take to replace the damaged tile but with absolutely no pressure. Follow up review from incident on 12/24/23Follow: Had the repair appt for 1/5/23 @11 ish. They showed up at 9am. Ok.ollow I had emptied under the sink for the faucet run-on issue, SHOWN ON THE BID, and Brian said he didn't think he could get a part for it. I gave him the pkg label I found under the sink. He just turned away and showed my husband how to turn the house water off in the basement. I had reminded my husband to address how my toilet would no longer FILL after they left on 2/24, but did flush after KEEPING water in the tank, possibly not getting the street box turned all the way on? No more water, Dr appt in hour or so. Contacted Rhonda at the office and told her what was going on. She tried. The men overrode actually operating and acknowledging the problem (that I have a video of). I googled and found the part in 5 minutes on Amazon. I get home and the 2 workers were leaving. Inside I find that they had replaced a sink drain? - which we provided, my husband didn't know about run-on issue - which magically had stopped, they had reconnected the pipes that had been cut and capped, gutted my toilet?? and TOOK the fairly new system (had a bright green top on it). They got a check for the entire bid amount. 26 days later the faucet starts the run-on again. See copy/paste below from text for how they treat customers and back their work. For the record, they didn't install the sink. 1/31/23 ***** Rhonda- I'm hoping you can help me. We had repairs done earlier this month on a bid from our Christmas Eve water break. The bid included fixing the faucet run-on in the kitchen. It worked fine for a couple of weeks. Now it's doing the same thing again. I wasn't happy with repair day and now, after paying $1275, it is running on again. Can you tell me what they did to it? It needs to be a permanent fix please. He said it's normal for a little bit of a drip because the water trapped in the faucet, if the faucet is defective you need to call the company you got the faucet from. All we did was install it, if it was continuously dripping non-stop the it would be the cartridge. If you want us to come back & put in a different faucet we will but there will be a charge. They told me on the phone that it would be $50.00 to walk in the door. My basement flooded, but when he got there it was dried out and the water heater started right up. He was there about 5 minutes then billed me $135.00. said because I had to pay his travel time...RIP OFF!!! Will not use them again. read more

OMG!!! This is my first time ever writing a review online, but its needed. I really don't know where to begin. Although this was a plumbing nightmare, it ends with a happy ending. Thanks to Rick Ray Plumbing. We were very desperate and had no referrals to start with so we started our plumbing journey blind to what was out there. Our story started with me and my husband David contacting a local Springfield company in Springfield area. This company (Rays Affordable Plumbing)came in and used a tool that broke off. Then they wanted to charge us for the job (which did not fix the problem) they even wanted to charge us over $2000 to break up he ground to have their tool removed which was the damage that they did. Then we called Rotor Rooter who charged us $350 to put the camera down in order to just see where the tool was located. They said in order for them to fix our plumbing problem that tool needs to be removed which will cost us over $3000 to starts. The nightmare begins. For three months I had to mop up water whenever we shower, wash dishes, use the toilet..ect. It made my life a living hell to say the least. We were at our wits end. We then picked up the phone and every plumber we contacted told us they couldn't do the job because of the stuck tool. If you are a home owner I'm sure you can relate...its imperative to know a good honest plumber when that tie comes. We are truly grateful to Rick Rays Plumbing and his family team who not only fixed our plumbing problem but also understood or situation and gave us a very reasonable affordable price. My husband stayed with the workers and witnessed it all and he said they could of easily charged us more than what they charged us. truth be told, we had lots of baby wipes that were removed. I was practically a three hour job. They did excellent work. The best part of it all is they fixed the problem that other plumbers said could not be done without paying an arm and a leg.
