Having dealt with my fair share of nightmare movers / delivery services, I am often wary of having to oversee a delivery being made in either my home / or office setting. In fact I get heart palpitations and sweaty palms just thinking about the myriad of things that have gone wrong in the past.
Service West Inc gets 5 stars for the wonderful professionalism exhibited by Mike. He was courteous, funny, competent, and efficient. What more do you want from the guy delivering your furniture? The FUBAR furniture company (see my scathing review on Side-Mark Furniture) told me to expect the delivery between 8am and 12 noon (Ugh). Mike called at 10:30 and politely asked me to confirm which floor I was on b/c FUBAR furniture put 23rd floor instead of 28th floor. (par for course, FUBAR) Oversight corrected, Mike showed up a few minutes later, and you can tell he's a pro at this because he got the 12 large, heavy file boxes out of my boss's office, moved the lateral file in, and had the boxes stacked neatly next to the file in about 15 minutes flat.
We consulted briefly about where / how to place the file so it was both aesthetically pleasing in the office, did not cover electrical sockets, and opened up floor space. Sure enough, his suggestion was spot on. He even took the time to perfectly center the file against the wall, remove any residual debris from the packing foam / shipping tape, showed me where the extra file supports were in the drawers, and give the exterior a good dusting before he left. Again, all this took about 15 minuets.
Since this is the first time I've encountered Service West, I don't know if Mike is an anomaly, or if this is standard for ServiceWest, but I was happy / impressed enough by this experience to take a moment and share in the hopes that ServiceWest sees this and takes note. read more
