The person said to make it easier he would need to drill some holes to help hide the wires. He asked if we had paint and said he could patch it. Next thing you know we have a 5"x5" hole in our fireplace along with holes in another wall. The patch was left unfinished. He said he had a paint brush initially and then later said he didn't. Pretty sure he was using a paper towel. Then told me I should paint it in an hour. Called their office and Nikki told me their team doesn't do paint or patching...ok. Why say you can? She couldn't tell me when someone would be back out and never called me back. So we have a mounted tv but now we need a professional painter to come fix the botched patch. Not to mention I spent 30 mins cleaning up after they left.

They claimed outlet was not "up to code" and didn't work. It works perfectly fine. they are not licensed electricians or handy men. Worst of all they tried to leave without even straightening the TV! when I pointed out to the level was clearly showing it wasn't straight, they told me it was "the best they could do" The entire experience was extremely unprofessional. I was genuinely concerned they might damage my TV and I ultimately had to call an actual professional installer afterward to fix their work. The small amount you might save is absolutely not worth it. I would strongly recommend going with a reputable professional instead.

We sent our kitchen assembly instructions ahead of time to make sure they were aware. My overall sense is that Carlos is fairly capable and experienced but either his team or him are not as careful as we had damages to our finished wood toe kicks and our lacquer cabinets looked like they had been dragged over nails as they were being assembled. I didn't appreciate that they made 0 mention of it at all and I had to point it out. As the homeowner, I essentially had to baby sit them for 5 days through the install since it felt like they were incapable / unwilling to read the kitchen cabinet installation instructions in detail and I caught several mistakes early on during the cabinet assembly that made me hesitant to leave it unattended. Carlos's attitude was particularly bad through the entire experience as well. Always made it seem like we were inconveniencing him or being too nit picky even if we caught some mistakes. At one point, he even threatened to quit after the assembly but before the installation simply because he had underestimated the complexity of the project. We did have a 1 day delay due to some plumbing / electrical issues but that's pretty typical as far as kitchen cabinet installations go AFAIK. In the end, they were able to get all the kitchen cabinets installed, albeit with a lot of effort from my end due to the more custom nature of the project. The price was affordable and the work was solid (minus the scratches) but for me the bad attitude wasn't worth it.

Ron, within minutes of entering our home, confirmed our suspicions and quickly got to work, starting with the removal of the severely damaged drywall segments followed by the removal of paint. He doesn't do plumbing, but recommended a plumber that he trusted and partnered with over the years. After the pipe was repaired, Ron proceeded to patch up the wall and prep it for painting. His professionalism throughout this multi-day experience was very positive - he shared his thoughts on what happened and why. I appreciated his candor and friendliness. The price we paid for the work was fair and very competitive, something I greatly appreciated.

Everything needed to be torn down and replaced. The wiring was old. The plumbing was leaking. And the flooring needed to be completely replaced. They produced an estimate. And came in on budget. They gave a time frame. And finished on time. I'm not sure what more you could want in a contractor. We will use them again!

The Great (+2 stars) ==========…read more * The structural work: Our home is on a great, new, solid foundation (with shear walls), so we feel as safe as we can be in our home for an earthquake! * Our basement is also now more usable. * Drainage: There is now drainage around the foundation and under the basement slab, so we are no longer worried about our basement flooding! * The working crew were very friendly and considerate. The Bad (-1 star): ========== * The electrical subcontractor was quite bad. The electricians didn't install the dryer outlet properly (one conductor came loose before I first used it), most outlets they installed are loose (they give when pushing in a plug), and they installed a used, old (not LED compatible) dimmer for the LED lights they installed. Also, the owner yelled at his team a lot. * The plumbing subcontractor was bad, too. They misdrilled several holes, damaging the interior of the home. They didn't seal around exterior penetrations into the house. They didn't put a cover over the branch of a wye that was no longer needed. They wouldn't do anything about the loss of hot water pressure in a bathroom faucet that occurred after they moved some plumbing around (I ended up having to disconnect and disassemble the hot water valve myself and I found a piece of silicone clogged in there). They over-glued the drain of the laundry supply box making it nearly impossible to remove the cap, and they lost the o-rings on my faucet aerator. The Ugly (-2 stars): ========== * They overlooked details in the plans about where walls and doors should go, and denied responsibility since they weren't in the structural engineer's plans, which they opted to not have updated with the revisions I told them about. This lead to a sewer pipe being installed in an inconvenient location (it went through the foundation, so it can't be moved), a structural wall that was almost built in the wrong place (I caught it while they were digging the footing), and a room that was built with no doorway (they had to cut some framing to make the opening). * The pricing/scope was negligent at best, but I'd put it closer to misleading or deceptive. During the initial visits, they talked about all the things they would do (including putting up framing, drywall, and insulation), and then sent over an estimate that I accepted. I didn't realize until halfway through the project that the estimate didn't include many of the things they talked about (including the framing, drywall, and insulation); those apparently would be part of "Phase 2," not included in the price of the first estimate. I had chosen E&F over another estimate that was less expensive even though it did explicitly contain the "additional" scope. I was also surprised that the electrical and plumbing (most of which was necessary to get them out of the way for the structural work) was billed separately; i.e., an unexpected additional expense. * They chose to rebuild a segment of stairs (rather than just adding two steps at the bottom, per the plans), which ended up having insufficient clearance with an overhang halfway down. They tried to convince me there was no new problem because they built them the same as before (but the run of the new stairs was one inch longer, causing the 4th step down to be 4 inches closer to the overhang) and resisted remedying the issue. They just ended up taking a sawzall to trim the overhang -- a joist -- which I just have to hope doesn't compromise any structural integrity! Further, they didn't even finish the stairs (sand and seal); "Test your staining skills," they said. * They ghosted before Phase 2. As the structural work was reaching completion, we were going back and forth on scope for Phase 2. However, when the structural work was actually completed, they just stopped communicating, left dirt and demo debris they left on our driveway for a month, then disappeared. There were lots of things they removed to get out of the way (like several segments of fence) but didn't put back. I could easily add 3x more issues and details, but this review is already too long.

I sent him photos and within a few hours, he responded back with a quote, which was quite reasonable. We made an appointment for Saturday morning as we wanted to surprise our daughter with the vanity built for her birthday. My son was also excited that his desk was going to be assembled as he wanted someplace to study, as well as a place to sit and play online Roblox with his friends instead of the dining room table. Guilherme texted me 15 minutes before our appointment to say that they were running behind schedule and would be at our home 20 minutes later than our scheduled appointment. I appreciated his communication with me that they were going to be late. When Guilherme arrived, he was accompanied by Isabella (who I learned was his fiancée who works with him). They were very friendly, and both went right to work on assembling the two items. They were professional, efficient and friendly, moving each of the furniture items after they were assembled to where we wanted them in our kids rooms. Great service! We will definitely hire them again for our furniture assembly needs!

Elan installed a front porch railing at my moms house. We were both very happy with the finished product. Elan was very organized and reasonable priced and friendly. He did run into a bit of a hiccup, but instead of just "making it work", he spent extra time to take the railing apart and corrected the problem. His work was over and beyond expectations and I definitely would rate him a 10 !! I definitely do recommend Elan for handyman services and look forward to working with him again. The first time he made a significant mistake, which had to do with improperly installing gutters on a roof that caused the rain to fall all around the building, he was not particularly happy about having to correct it, but he did so. More recently, I discovered that when he remodeled a bathroom, he installed the bathroom tub spout improperly with the valve upside down. Initially, I thought maybe the new hardware was defective. However, it took me about five minutes on YouTube to realize what the problem was, which I confirmed by having a plumber inspect it. Unfortunately, Oscar had tiled in the installation, which will require the problem to be fixed by going in through the drywall behind the bathroom, at significant expense. I texted Oscar about the problem and asked him to correct it. I could see that he immediately read my text. However, he did not respond. When I tried to follow up, I discovered that he had apparently blocked my number. After having paid him tens of thousands of dollars for work, I was shocked to say the least. I guess when he doesn't anticipate any more checks coming in from you, you are dead to him.
