I recently reached out to Chris, the owner, to walk through my new construction home and discuss potential AV and automation options. At the time, we had just moved in and were in the middle of unpacking and getting settled. The purpose of the visit was simply to walk through the home, discuss possibilities, and begin thinking through what an AV and home automation setup might look like. During the walkthrough, Chris asked several questions about the TV mounts I had purchased. However, the mounts were still wrapped and packed away, so I didn't have all of the specific details he was asking for at the time. Because we were in the middle of unpacking and also had travel coming up, I asked if I could reconnect in a couple of months once we were more settled and able to provide the information and photos he requested. When he left my home, he said that was perfectly fine and told me to contact him when I was ready and to send pictures of everything. About two and a half months later, once we were fully settled and ready to move forward, I reached back out to reconnect. My home is a $2.5 million new construction property, and I was looking to explore a comprehensive AV and automation setup. Instead of continuing the conversation or discussing next steps, Chris simply referred me to another company. The response felt brief and somewhat dismissive, and there was no explanation as to why they were no longer interested in the project. Given the scope of what I'm looking to do in my home, I asked for clarification. After waiting about a day and a half without receiving any follow-up or additional context, I decided to look up the company's reviews and noticed a number of comments referencing poor customer service, which unfortunately aligned with my experience. What makes this disappointing is that I had known Chris and his wife many years ago when I worked as an insurance agent and had always remembered them as kind people. Because of that past experience, I initially trusted the business without doing additional research. In hindsight, I should have done my due diligence sooner. I'm sharing this experience simply as a reminder that it's always important to research companies carefully, even when you believe you know the people involved. Clear communication, professionalism, and follow-through matter--especially when homeowners are planning significant investments in their homes. Service Tech installed my automatic shades 6 years ago. We had a ton of issues with them such as ordering the wrong size of shades delaying us months but they were willing to offer a discount. Fast forward to now and one set of shades have stopped working. I have contacted them 3 times over the phone to schedule a service appointment and they never call you back. Chris Pearson emailed me and I had hope that we would get assistance but he never responded when I asked for help. The customer service is the absolute worst. I would never suggest even my worst enemy to use this company. I wish I could give less than 1 star. read more

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Read all the reviews that are negative on all the platforms! They are the truth. They take your money and don't finish the job. They don't return calls or show up to appointments. We have been trying for over a year to have them finish a job and pay us what they owe us. They ignore us. We are hiring an attorney. Run, don't walk away from Chris Pearson and Service Tech. Chris demanded funds up front and within a few days after executing our SOW for equipment never delivered. Took me months, and an attorney letter, to get ahold of Chris Pearson and he lied to my face about making things right, that he was back in control of the company operations. Nothing but excuse after excuse and failure to show. Don't believe his 20 year pitch about delivering - he's dishonest and a crooked owner. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANY REASON WHATSOEVER! We hired ServiceTech to install automated shades in our condo, since they were the recommended installation partner for the building and selling realtor. They quoted us a 6-8 week lead time for the shades. It has been 9 MONTHS so far, and they still haven't finished the project. They made errors in ordering materials, made mistakes in scheduling, and flat ignore my calls and emails. I have contacted the Better Business Bureau to no avail, and I am considering legal action against them. read more

I went from being initially very frustrated with this service provider to becoming a fan! Chris, the owner, has been extremely responsive to our issues with the installed Savant system that came with our new home purchase. If you are in the market for a AV system....DO NOT CHOOSE SAVANT. Thankfully, he replaced the entire system with Control IV for no charge. read more

We were consistently met with incopetence and near thievery (still awaiting a refund for components they billed us for that were either never installed or inferior products) in our dealings with this company. The builder told us after the completion of our first phase that the company has been slipping as of late and that they were exploring other options for future projects... I sure do wish that they'd figured that out a while ago because it was pretty obvious from the get go to me what was happening. The company withdrew its bid for the second phase after being asked for references from past customers and why certain(discontinued) products were being used -- as well as being asked for the third time about why refunding us for things that weren't installed was taking so long. I needed a service call as one of my components failed. Their new service department is first rate. They are fast, very polite and well trained. The service tech arrive right on the time we set up. He found the issue promptly and had planned ahead and brought a temporary replacement unit to put me up and running again. He even called the factory while he was working on it to see if it would be replaced under warranty. Good people. I'll use them again. read more

Just because they have service in the name doesn't mean they know anything about customer service. Because I was foolish enough to use them to build my complex home theater system they are the only ones who can service it. From small details like workers tracking dirt and mud all over my home. Scheduling appointments and not showing on multiple visits. Not being honest about install date and times. They leave parts and equipment behind and expect you to keep track of them without ever telling you they did it. When you complain they do absolutely nothing about it. I get better customer service from craigslist. Their work is good, the products they use are top notch, but they have zero idea how to manage a client or provide good service. Steer clear and find a company who can not only install the proper equipment but service it on a level that is commiserate with the cost of said system read more

I've used Service Tech recently at my new downtown condo and I am very pleased. They have a great organization from top to bottom...they are easy to work with in that they make it easy to select your purchase items, they are quick to respond and schedule, they are very helpful once they do the installation, and they are always available post-installation to assist with any technical issues that may arise. I have used other similar services in the past and Service Tech is light years ahead of the other companies that I've used before. I wish I had known about them sooner! read more

Chris Pearson, the owner came out to my house to put together a proposal to add about $6,000+ in new services and to take over the servicing of my account. I selected Chris because his business is located minutes from my neighborhood. It quickly became apparent that Chris was concerned that he would not be as competitive as my current provider on the items to be added as he brought that up on more than one occasion. However I had several reasons form wanting a new service provider and cost was only one factor. Chris assured me he would get back with me with a proposal. After about a week I hadn't heard from Chris and I emailed him. No response. A week later, today, I called and left him a VM and also sent him an email asking where was the proposal. I receive and email back from him stating that he would not be able to offer me any services and it would be in my best interest to stay with my current service provider. What?!? How terribly unprofessional. I am in a tight time crunch ...and now two weeks are gone I didn't have. I guess after reading the other reviews I came out lucky. read more
