TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE I am in the market for a new car and I have been searching since Memorial Day for a good deal. Long story short, after shopping around and exchanging phone calls and emails with different dealers, I visited Subaru Serra in Akron, OH. I was looking for a Legacy 2020, and started to work with Julie Remesik. At the moment they did not have any in stock, we settle on a price range, and I even left a $500 deposit that they asked for. Julie told me she was going to request the car with my specifications from another dealer and they were going to bring it sometime this week. Once the car arrived, I confirmed Julie that I was coming on Friday before 430 pm as she requested. She stressed that I had to arrive before 430 pm to have enough time to close the deal. In order for me to be there on time I had to leave work early and drive 3 hours to get there on time. Today (June 5th, 2020), I arrived before 430 pm, and the first thing that Julie told me, was that "I will have to send you back home, since you did not fill out the credit application", which infuriated me since I had not even seen the car in person or test drive it, and she even said that "if we could not make a deal, we could not make a deal". With that attitude I immediately requested my deposit back. She brought the sales manager, and after a quick chat I walked out of the dealership with a deposit receipt and no car. What annoyed me the most was that even though half of the negotiation was done and I was ready to purchase a new car, Julie was rude and unpolite. Since the beginning I told her I was not going to fill out an application without seeing and driving the car first (who buys a car without seeing it and test it first), but she kept pushing. With her comment about sending me back home, she disregarded the effort I made of leaving work early and driving 3 hours to arrive on time. They mentioned they had other customers, but I made an appointment with Julie to do all the paperwork, and I only saw a couple of customers and a lot of sale representatives available. During these difficult times, from a consumer's perspective, it's a big commitment to buy a new car. I guess Serra Subaru in Akron must be doing really good to let go an almost already done deal. After investing a week working with Serra Subaru in Akron and with Julie, it is frustrating to be treated with such disrespected for my time and effort. I really hope this was just a terrible mistake from the Serra Subaru at Akron personnel and not a prejudice due to the fact that I am Hispanic. read more

We were greeted instantly by Adam, and told him we were interested in a Subaru Outback. Knew the options we wanted, and he immediately told us about their inventory, and that there were several colors equipped as we wanted there on the lot. He explained the interior/exterior color combinations available and took us for a test drive. My wife and I both had the opportunity to drive, and Adam was knowledgeable and forthright in answering our questions. When we returned to the dealership to discuss our trade and what we were wiling to accept for a price difference on the new model, Jerry got involved, drove our trade-in and gave us an appraisal we were satisfied with. We subsequently checked with another dealer to verify trade and price difference were comparable, and when we returned "bargained" Park's price down another few hundred dollars comparable to our other dealer's number. The actual titling and exchanging of our vehicle for the new one was done smoothly, and we couldn't be happier with Park's sales team. Highly recommend to anyone considering a new Subaru purchase. I'm a Subaru person; have been one for quite some time. I needed an oil drain plug for my 2016 Forester. I got to the dealership just after the parts department closed on a Friday night. Denny greeted me as I walked in the door and asked what I needed. After I told him, he said, "let's walk back and see if anyone is there." Of course the lights were off and the parts department was empty, so we went back to the sales floor. He then said, "let me call Greg and see if he left yet." Sure enough, Greg was still in the building, still back in the parts department; he had just stepped out for minute. Denny took me back to the part department, and Greg was more than willing to help me. A few minutes later I was walking out with my plug. It's one thing to say your customers matter, but it's completely different when you experience it personally. I was in the market for a new car. After doing extensive research, I zeroed in on a Crosstrek. I went to Park first since a friend there does their detailing. Casey Glockner was the consultant that greeted me. She was extremely helpful and knowledgable. I asked for a test drive and she was on top of it. I liked the vehicle but wanted to first sell my old car via private sale before I could buy. I sold my car and returned a few weeks later to see Casey. I went in prepared again with my packet of pricing research (edmunds, true car, nada...) expecting a drawn-out haggling experience and a price point in mind. Casey was waiting for me and had offers waiting for me- best and final offers. They all beat my numbers. No haggling! A truly stress-free experience. 2 hours later, I was in my new car and on my way. This was one of the most pleasant, stress-free car buying experience ever! Thank you Dave Somerville for the relaxed yet professional attitude! After walking away from a deal at another Subaru dealership due to their pressure tactics, I was a bit gun shy to begin the process all over again. I am so glad I did because I now own a brand new Forester and in the color I wanted too! Dave set my mind at ease by a Sunday evening phone call (after I did a general inquiry on the web) to introduce himself and explain a few things about turning in my leased car early. Just that extra added touch displayed by Dave was instrumental in getting me to the dealership the next day. I am very happy that I did. After some annoying car buying experiences at other dealerships in the past, I wasn't looking forward to going through the process again. But a new car was needed, and we had decided on a Subaru. The web suggested a different dealership based on our zip code, but I had gotten good reports from friends on Park Subaru and decided to start there. I began with some internet searches and requested the internet price from Park Subaru. I heard from Shaun Swihart almost immediately and set up an appointment. What a pleasant surprise it was to find the entire process straight-forward and easy! No high-pressure sales tactics, no pricing games. We have dealt with Park Subaru three times now, purchasing a 2010 Outback, leasing a 2011 Legacy, and purchasing a 2013 Outback. The overall experience has been excellent, we have always been treated with courtesy and respect, and the quality of service has been very good. But the clincher has been our salesperson, Casey Glockner. She has been terrific, very professional, never pushy, and just the most pleasant person with whom to deal. (She even wrote up a little guide for my wife when we leased her Legacy, to make it easier for her use the manual, a personal touch that was above and beyond.) And we expect to be seeing Casey again soon when the lease expires. Park has been a great dealership, made so by the good people that run it, and we will be back to see them again. read more

I had a good experience buying a car from this dealership. The staff was friendly and I got a good value for my trade in. I wasn't in the market to purchase a car, I am leasing, but the deal that I got was a good one. After going to several dealerships, it was nice to go to one where you don't feel pressured to buy all the "extras" , but where they are presented as an option. I would definitely go back, and I will certainly recommend this dealership to my friends. I have yet to to work with the service department here, I can only hope that experience is as good as the rest of the company. I don't have a lot to compare to, but I actually wouldn't go back to any of the dealerships that I have been to in the past, however, I would go back to this one. read more

I purchased a Subaru at another dealership and dealt with an electrical issue for 3 years and kept being told by that service department that everything checks out fine and it's all in how I was closing my gas cap. On the recommendation of a friend who uses the Serra service department, I took it there for help. Within a half hour they discovered the problem and created a video of the issue. My car had just exited the warranty period the week before so it all became pretty complicated. Jeremiah at the Serra service department worked very hard to secure an outcome that worked great for me and I am very appreciative of all his efforts. Dealing with Park for my first new vehicle purchase was great. I always hear horror stories about people trying to work with dealerships, I had none of that. My sales person was Kenny Grimes, and we initially talked on the phone and email. As I was more than 2 hours away, I did all my dealing remotely. Kenny answered emails and phone calls immediately, and was very clear when going over numbers. When we picked our car up, he did a great job showing my wife all of her new features on her 2015 Outback. I couldn't be more happy with the car, and how the process went. We recently bought a 2015 Outback and our salesman Shaun Swihart was fantastic! We negotiated over the internet, waited for a couple of months for the exact model and option package to be made and shipped, and picked it up in less than an hour. The sales manager Mark was great also, very professional, very efficient. This is the first time we bought a car this way and we are surprised how easy and pain-free it is with Park Subaru and Shaun. I was looking at a couple of different vehicles that the Park Auto dealership had to offer and she was very honest in her opinions of the strengths and weaknesses of the different vehicles in comparison to each other. Fran was the best! She was very patient and knowledgable . Fran took the time to show us all Subaru models we wanted to see. This was our first Subaru we purchased. Actually we purchased two. My experience at Park Subaru could not have been any better. My salesperson (Ali) was so knowledgeable about the car we were interested in and took her time with us. We never felt rushed or pressured. The rest of the staff were also professional and helpful. There is a family vibe about this dealership. Rick Ballas was the sales associate who assisted me in the purchase of a 2018 Mazda 3. He and the staff there at Serra bent over backwards to find the the car in the color and trim I wanted. When it turned out there was no such car ANYWHERE, they suggested that the interior could be customized to meet my requirements. My wife and I recently purchased a Suburu Outback from Dave Sommerville at the Park Auto Group. Dave originally was leaning us toward a Crosstrek based on what we told him in our initial meeting even though we came in leaning toward an Outback. A Crosstrek would have saved us some money so I was impressed that Dave was not just trying to put us into the most expensive option. I love Subaru....and Park is the best Subaru dealership locally. They were completely honest with me. I was there to see if there was an issue with my car and was willing to buy a new one if there were any problems. They assured me that my current Forester was in great shape. I wouldn't go anywhere else. At another visit for an oil change,an older family member was with me and they dropped us off at a restaurant for dinner and picked us up after so we wouldn't have to walk.
