We chose to book a scheduled rideshare there and back. There is free parking and the winery opens at 10 am we were able to walk the grounds and interior winery until our reservation. The cabanas are neat and private which views of the farm with lighting, fans, and heaters. Our visit was fairly a warm day so it was nice to have the fan but overall you are shielded from the sun and able to enjoy an interior/exterior atmosphere. There was a little food debris on the chairs/floor but not messy and the cabana was very neatly designed and furnished. The staff is very courteous and attentive with Matt being our guide through the available wine offerings and accommodating our menu requests. He provided amazing service and recommendations that really made our visit special. Our reservation was for three hours which is more than enough time to taste the wines, enjoy the menu and purchase wines after. We enjoyed the red wine flight, a complimentary glass of their 2025 Rosé, and rose sangria as well as starters of hummus and Caesar salad and pizzas. The chef was accommodating to our party for a request for no diary which we really appreciated. The Caesar salad was crisp and savory and the hummus was earthy and filling. My favorite tasting was the rosé and the Cabernet Sauvignon and I love their wide range of offerings. I would definitely visit again and highly recommend reservations. Diane, the lovely owner is so gracious and sweet and was able to handle the flow of oenophiles quite effortlessly. They have the main tasting room and also an adjacent room that could accommodate a group tasting. Diane did a great job of giving us a detailed description of each wine and I was actually pleasantly surprised! I'm not a huge fan of Md wine but truly enjoyed the wines here. I purchased a bottle of the Estate Red and they had a wonderful sangria made with their Chambourcin which I also purchased. I love supporting local and especially such a great vineyard such as this one that is also a working farm. I would encourage anyone to venture out to this vineyard--but actually put the address in your gps and not just the name, you will end up at someone's home. I assume this family are use to people ending up at their home-they have a sign that has the address of the vineyard on it--thank you mystery family!

We were out somewhat in this direction, and there was a Meetup group going here, so we thought to check it out as it's rare we ever go to a winery as it's normally out of the way, more likely of an occurrence when on a vacation. We took some crazy back roads from where we were in western Howard County, through Carroll, & into eastern Frederick County, where Black Ankle is. We went to the bar inside to get wines. I got a white wine; I think Chardonnay, and I think my girlfriend got a sweeter Rose or something like that. Both were delicious, but we preferred our own more. We sat outside in a nice patio area. We were in the hot Sun on that sunny day, but that was cool with me. We learned of a tour going on, which we got in on. The tour guide who wore an Italian flag bowtie was entertaining and informative. We walked around the vineyard, going inside the cooled storage areas, centrifuge area where the wine is mixed, etc. We even saw some of the old wines they had made from years earlier. We saw sheep dogs, which protect the vineyard from pests, which were cute. Overall, this is a high quality winery with plenty of nice outside & inside seating.

I have honestly never had vodka and gin that were so smooth! My friend also really liked the bourbon she tried. My friend said she's planning to take her mom there and I wouldn't be opposed to visiting again the next time I'm in Pennsylvania.

I returned another day to try their wines and was not disappointed! I enjoyed them so much that I took home 3 different bottles which me and my girlfriends all enjoyed. Setting is beautiful, shaded tables spread widely on a hillside lawn next to vineyards. We purchased one tasting flight. Servers climbed the hill carrying one bottle at a time to pour each glass! Every wine we tasted was good, and the servers were lovely, friendly and warm.
