Found this guy online with great Google reviews but mediocre Yelp reviews. Believe the Google Reviews! Michael was very responsive, gave me same-day service at no extra charge, and even picked up and dropped off my knives for an extra $20! My dull knives were sharper than they've ever been in less than a day for a lot less money than I would have spent shipping them off. Michael does the work himself and took time to explain the different sharpening methods he would use based on the steel composition and degree of my blades. I first found Seriously Fast Sharpening on Yelp, before seeing they had a website with a contact number. I texted them what I needed and if they had same-day appointments, which I was able to schedule within the hour much to my delight. They sent me their prices and confirmed how much I would be charged. They shared with me their address and drop off location as there's no where to wait. I drove to a local coffee shop nearby to wait. From drop-off to when I received their text to say they were finished took about 30 min. Pretty darn fast. They sent me payment details and reconfirmed how much I owed. I drove back, picked up my hatchet, Venmo'd them, and that was it. I'm glad that they're located in north Austin and not too far of a drive from where I live. I took off two stars due to quality concerns. Although the edge of the blade is sharp, they didn't sharpen the edge into a convex edge or at least ask if they should sharpen the edge that way. My axe had never been sharpened before but a convex edge would have been most appropriate for my use case. They also didn't sharpen the entire blade. From my pictures, you can see that they missed the top corner of the blade (rounded). You can also tell that the edge isn't centered. The axe was bought this way, but I expected Seriously Fast Sharpening to center it or at least make mention of it. All in all, a 3-star experience. I appreciated their promptness and quick communication, but I expected more in terms of craftsmanship quality. I may try them again for some smaller blades in the future. read more

Michael reached out to me and explained the recurrent miscommunications that had occurred. It seemed plausible and he was very apologetic, offering to provide a refund as well as the product. I requested that the product not be sent and would like to return the parts that I had actually received. He provided communication that a refund was being processed and I am satisfied with the outcome. Being a former small business owner myself, I understand how mistakes can be made. read more

Pre-ordered a part from this guy. About a month later, got notification that it shipped, but no tracking was provided, and the item never arrived. Emailed half a dozen times and left voicemails over the course of a few weeks before I finally got a response. Owner said my messages must have been missed by the team, but informed me he'd be processing a refund (never got an explanation on why my part never showed). That was 2 weeks ago, and the owner again has gone radio silent with no sign of a refund. Spend your money elsewhere. 3/25 Edit: Got an email from seller on 3/16 that my order had shipped. Since then the package has sat in a "Label Created" status. read more

Should have searched for reviews prior to placing a pre-order for a riser block for a sharpening system. My experience is not much different than others who have posted negative reviews. Placed the pre-order on 7/10/24. Paid for the pre-ordered item and received order confirmation. On 7/24/24 received an automated message that the item was completed and ready to ship. Was provided a USPS tracking number. The item never arrived and tracking number remained in pre-shipment status (and as of today, still does). Beginning on 8/5/24, made 3 different attempts to contact the company by email, site chat system, and support page contact form. Only received one msg (perhaps automated) via the chat system on 8/8/24 indicating that the company would actively put the order as a priority investigation and that they would be in touch asap. No other communication from the company despite 4 additional attempts to contact the company requesting a status update. In my final attempt (8/17/24), told the owner that if I did not receive a status update, I would have no recourse except to file a dispute/charge back with my credit card company. Based on a lack of communication from the company, did not feel that requesting an order cancellation and refund would be any more successful than my attempts to get a status update. Filed the dispute with my credit card company on 8/20/24. I realize that sometimes small businesses have growing pains ... but there is absolutely no excuse for a lack of communication. read more

Dropped off a few kitchen knives, kitchen shears, scissors, garden shears, and tree trimming tools. In a couple of days they were sharpened and ready to go. And, boy, were they sharp! I sharpen myself upon occasion when I have enough time, but the speed and quality of the service provided is having me rethink whether I should ever do a sharpening myself. Mike does a fantastic job in a fraction of the time it takes me to do it and at a decent price. I recommend him highly and cannot say enough good things about his work! read more

this esteemed business owner still refuses to make things right after accepting a payment for a item he never sent. he insults anyones intelligence who is reviewing his "business". i have no reason to take time out of my schedule to write a review and post screen shots, after all i paid something like $55 for an item that i could've hade made for $5-10 because i don't have the amount of free time i'd like. unfortunately i have to draw the line somewhere and that's when i'm stolen from. anyone reading this ask yourself what i have to gain after waiting over two months(email of the order is the pictures) for a 3d printed piece of plastic i intended on using for one of my hobbies. the ask yourself what he has to gain from lying, at every turn and given every opportunity this successful business person chooses dishonesty and lies, he says one thing publicly in the reviews but another when contacted directly, there are no, and never were any emails. he never responded to a single one. i will also add not once in the texts did he mention the word refund or that he will be shipping the item out. not once, not ever. even to this point he chooses to dig in and double down on his delusions and tells me how his "legal team" will be in contact with me. perhaps i will never know the high level of success he's attained in the high end world of knife sharpening for a living, but in my business risk and money management is paramount, suffice to say it isn't prudent risk or money management to have ones "legal team" suit up or even so much as have an intern type up a letter because you don't want to send a $55 refund and fight a truthful negative review, but i suppose that goes back to the digging in and doubling down on ones delusions. go ahead roll the dice order something from him, use his services, i'm just sharing my experience, as did Don D. and Tom B., the people on google reviews and i'm sure a bunch of other people who simply don't have the time or inclination to expose someone who robbed them. if one lies, they'll steal, if they'll steal they'll do far worse. read more
