I'm having a Michael Myers moment
    Phillip B.

I have like four different sharpeners at home, but, they just don't get the job done. My knives got so dull I was sawing meat instead of cutting it. That's when you know it's time to seek out a professional. I checked out these guys and a store in Cedar Park. These guys offered the best price and turn around. At four dollars for a straight blade and five for serrated with a one hour turn around, I couldn't pass them up. Some other Yelpers have dissed on the service as being rude. I didn't think so at all. No the guy wasn't the most outgoing man in the house, but, he didn't feed me bullshit and rip me off either. So you decide. Do you wanna stand around laughing and boring each other with nonsense conversation that you'll more than likely forget the moment you leave the store, or, do you want a good business deal? I'm all about the latter. I took nine knives in for sharpening. One was serrated. I checked in on Yelp and saw a 10% promo for the month of May. What the hell. It's September, but, I asked if they'd honor it anyway. They did! Total, my bill was roughly thirty-three dollars. From the quoted price I came out on the better side and my knives are pretty dang sharp! I'm happy and have been running around the house with one of the butcher knives playing Michael Myers. It is that time of year you know. These guys do more than just sharpen kitchen knives. Basically if it has a blade or edge they do it. They even buy, sell and trade, and, offer knife throwing classes. Bring your knives, tools, scissors, swords, etc you won't be sorry. And just for clarity from another review I read, they do indeed take plastic. Not sure what that reviewer was on about. I'm glad I found these guys and will definitely use them again. And who knows maybe I'll get the guy that works there to smile!

We had a hopeless cleaver. Now it can cut paper. All for $5. He did the work while we waited. Great service.

Michael was very responsive, gave me same-day service at no extra charge, and even picked up and dropped off my knives for an extra $20! My dull knives were sharper than they've ever been in less than a day for a lot less money than I would have spent shipping them off. Michael does the work himself and took time to explain the different sharpening methods he would use based on the steel composition and degree of my blades. He's highly professional, considerate, and fairly priced. It's unusual to find someone that takes such great care. Do yourself and your kitchen a favor and give Michael a call!

I texted them what I needed and if they had same-day appointments, which I was able to schedule within the hour much to my delight. They sent me their prices and confirmed how much I would be charged. They shared with me their address and drop off location as there's no where to wait. I drove to a local coffee shop nearby to wait. From drop-off to when I received their text to say they were finished took about 30 min. Pretty darn fast. They sent me payment details and reconfirmed how much I owed. I drove back, picked up my hatchet, Venmo'd them, and that was it. I'm glad that they're located in north Austin and not too far of a drive from where I live. I took off two stars due to quality concerns. Although the edge of the blade is sharp, they didn't sharpen the edge into a convex edge or at least ask if they should sharpen the edge that way. My axe had never been sharpened before but a convex edge would have been most appropriate for my use case. They also didn't sharpen the entire blade. From my pictures, you can see that they missed the top corner of the blade (rounded). You can also tell that the edge isn't centered. The axe was bought this way, but I expected Seriously Fast Sharpening to center it or at least make mention of it. All in all, a 3-star experience. I appreciated their promptness and quick communication, but I expected more in terms of craftsmanship quality. I may try them again for some smaller blades in the future.

I was given enough steel to build pretty much whatever I wanted and got to pick whatever kind of material I wanted to use on the handle. As long as I picked a design I could finish in the 2 days I spent there, Chad was there to help me build what I wanted to build. Not only that, but this ends up a legit, strong, properly heat treated knife. He had me drop my knife tip first into cement, and then smash it into a concrete block multiple times to test the heat treating process... No real damage... try doing that with your store bought knife! He provided all the drinks and food for us all while we were there, and he didn't cheap out. He got really good food from restaurants in the area. We also had full access to his pool and hot tub, which was a welcome way to cool down after a day standing in front of a forge. Not only did I build a super cool knife, but the Caylor family welcomed me into their home and I immediately felt like I was a part of their family. The money you spend here goes straight to funding their non-profit, Reforged, which helps military and first responders that are suffering from PTSD. So not only do you get an awesome experience, but the money you are spending goes toward a good cause. For real though, this place is amazing. I'll be back.
