Located in the Sunset Ridge area of Alamo Heights, this place is always swarmed with customers and friendly employees. Before you go inside to check out the colorful Yeti and Le Creuset collections, hit up the clearance section outside. They also always have the best selection of wreaths and door decorations. The prices are a little expensive but so is the quality. From the Green Egg outdoor grill and Miele vacuum cleaners to luxury laundry detergent, it's all at Subset & Co!

Unfortunately, I didn't read carefully and the bowls were not microwave safe. My kids are not old enough to differentiate which bowls can and cannot go in the microwave, so I returned them. My mother has been in the hospital so I just chucked the bowls in a box with no... anything---not even a note or my name or the order number or anything, and Sunset & Co. immediately refunded my purchase upon their arrival and notified me of it by email while I was away helping my mother. I am so impressed by their customer service when I was quite the terrible customer. I'll keep watching their website and am eager to try again to find something delightful from this shop!

Jay was absolutely amazing and so patient. Her knife took about 2 hrs to make and we had such a great time it felt like 20 minutes. He had great stories and kept us engaged. He communicated clearly with rules, expectations, and what each step was that she had to work on next. He had us laughing so much. Vic was another brother that was great. He kept my youngest, 9 yr old, engaged and had her complete attention. He was patient and helped her stand correctly and how to hold the hammer. And he had to repeat himself many times but never lost patience with her. He showed us how to make different nail swords and let her help too. This is a family business and honestly it is a must for any visitors, tourist, or even Texans that never see what's around them (like us!). I totally recommend bringing your family or friends. We won't regret it and you'll go home with a unique gift that you made yourself.

I called in the morning and asked if they had any openings at 4 and the guy on the phone was kinda rude and said technically yes but I was gonna close early but I guess I can fit you in. I was super thankful and excited but when we showed up I was shocked by the unprofessional, vulgar and unsafe behavior of the worker. He sat off to the side making his own bracelet and gave us almost no guidance and didn't help or check on us. He told us to do whatever the F we wanted and he didn't care. Halfway through he informed us he was an "idiot" because he didn't have us sign the safety waiver! Honestly we had fun but it was extremely uncomfortable and we just kinda had to figure out what to do and listen to him tell uncomfortable stories and cuss up a storm. We also never got his name but he was a younger man in his 20s.

I was given enough steel to build pretty much whatever I wanted and got to pick whatever kind of material I wanted to use on the handle. As long as I picked a design I could finish in the 2 days I spent there, Chad was there to help me build what I wanted to build. Not only that, but this ends up a legit, strong, properly heat treated knife. He had me drop my knife tip first into cement, and then smash it into a concrete block multiple times to test the heat treating process... No real damage... try doing that with your store bought knife! He provided all the drinks and food for us all while we were there, and he didn't cheap out. He got really good food from restaurants in the area. We also had full access to his pool and hot tub, which was a welcome way to cool down after a day standing in front of a forge. Not only did I build a super cool knife, but the Caylor family welcomed me into their home and I immediately felt like I was a part of their family. The money you spend here goes straight to funding their non-profit, Reforged, which helps military and first responders that are suffering from PTSD. So not only do you get an awesome experience, but the money you are spending goes toward a good cause. For real though, this place is amazing. I'll be back.

I don't plan to purchase a pass on principle that they are specifically extremely expensive to exclude lower income families. Alamo heights is a beautiful place to live and recreate but the elitism is a poison. There's no way that $700+ for 3 months of swimming is necessary for maintenance and staffing of a relatively small facility. Otherwise it's a nice, clean pool with a fun little playground and kiddie wading pool.
