We had a great tasting at Serial Wines. It was a Friday afternoon and we were greeted warmly and seated immediately. The space is gorgeous and equally comfortable. We decided to go with the first option for our tastings and liked that it had a rose, white, and a few reds. Our host was friendly and the perfect amount of engaging. We ended up purchasing the rose. Great place to beat the heat! We had to ditch the wineries because it was too hot outside. This was a great respite. Staff knew their wines well and were clearly excited about the history and details of the wine. We had the district flight ($45) and the bread and butter. It was one of the few spots open on 4th of July in Downtown Paso, and our party of 7 was happily accommodated immediately around 6pm! Joseph was a gem, he got us settled and gave us a little welcome pour as we decided on our choice of tastings. Note: if you have a large group, they will require the whole group to be on the same tasting flight - we decided on the 3 white + 3 red one and split a few tastings between us. Came here for a Saturday late night glass of wine with friends. The place was dead with only one customer in the place. The inside of this place was very beautiful We ordered a bottle of the 2016 ref blend. It was ok. The downer of this experience was our server who basically just disappeared from the place for some time and the only reason we actually saw her again was that my wife went to the rest room and caught the lady talking on her cell phone. Very disappointing customer service especially when it was super slow. Im glad I'm tried this place but would most likely not return as there is so many wineries in downtown to get a late night glass of wine. read more

They allowed us to use their bathroom and later we decided to check out their wine. It was National Rose Day, so I was glad they had a really good rise in their Paso Robles Tasting! You will see the menu is starred by me. Out of the 6 wines, I liked 3. Our waiter was friendly but sometimes he'd take awhile to come check on us. We bought, with another couple, a case of the Rose. My girlfriend Sam and I walked in at 11:30AM on Monday, so it was quiet and quite dark for the hour but we were instantly welcomed by Shawn so we opted to sit with him at the bar. He guided us through our tasting and told us about what brought him to Paso Robles. Periodically, Anthony joined us and we all had truly lovely conversation. Fantastic service as soon as we walked in! We did not make a reservation ahead of time as we stumbled upon this location while walking downtown. We were quickly accommodated for our large party and received wonderful service throughout our time spent here. We each enjoyed our own Rosé and Cabernet Sauvignon. I don't give 5 star reviews lightly and this is the first winery I've given one to, so believe me when I say that Serial is an absolute GO! It can be hard to judge wine objectively. Over the years my tastes have changed quite a bit and wines that I loved 5 years ago don't seem as good as they once did. And with Paso (and California) having so many options it can be a bit overwhelming. However, I can safely say that Serial wines are the best wines I've had by a sizable margin. The tastings are on the expensive side (~$45) but it's not unheard of in the area and in my opinion it's certainly worth the wines alone. We've never actually paid the tasting fee because we always get a few bottles to take home! Service: Fantastic! I've been twice now with each experience being wonderful. The staff are knowledgeable, personable and have great recommendations tailored to individual tastes. If they get a sense you like a certain flavor profile they will happily go off script to bring you a wine you'll more thoroughly enjoy. Wine: This is where Serial really shines. In a word "superlative" (Office reference), but seriously these wines are beyond good. I don't know what the winemaker(s) are doing to get these kind of results that are so much better than their peers but I'm glad for it. Red blends are my jam and they take them to an entirely new level! Complex/interesting flavors and aromas, silky smooth and perfectly balanced wines which make you savor and think about each sip. For all you purists out there, they also have fantastic single varietals, obviously leaning towards the big bold reds Paso is known for. Ambiance: Another big win here. I've only been to the downtown tasting room but it is beautifully appointed and also comfortable. They definitely lean more towards the classy chic style in their decor, with a hint of the dark and sinister. A great place to drink amazing wine! read more
