I didn't expect to get a first-class wine tasting on the 4th of July, but Serial gave me just that. Between the warm greeting from Joshua and the expert wine experience from Shawn, this is definitely something my friend and I will be repeating. Now for the details: The overall vibe was immaculate - great lighting, comfortable chairs, and the perfect balance of artistic and elegant with eclectic pieces that all seem to fit together. They offered 3 wine tasting experiences, and since this was my VERY FIRST TASTING EXPERIENCE, we chose to explore 3 red wines and 3 white wines. I should note that I had no knowledge of wine or what to look for in a wine, and this is where Shawn came in. Shawn took all of the pretentiousness out of wine and encouraged us to experience each flavor for ourselves, trust our own pallettes, and establish our own opinions. He gave us the history behind each wine alongside key info like geography and climate but left everything else to us. The fact that he never told us what we should be tasting or feeling gave us the confidence to experience each glass on our own, unencumbered. As far as first-time wine experiences go, I couldn't have hoped for anything more enriching or enlightening. Shawn has a spectacular personality and that, coupled with his wealth of wine knowledge, made this unforgettable. I'm super proud of myself, and I can't wait to explore wines having been introduced by a master. TL;DR: Excellent vibes, Shawn was an expert, AMAZING, and made wine tasting a fun and carefree experience. We'll be back. Highly recommend. PS. We kicked off our weekend in Paso Robles at Serial Wines, and it was the perfect start. We did the Paso Strong tasting along with a really nice cheese and charcuterie board--such a great pairing. The vibe was relaxing and welcoming, and our host (wish I could remember his name!) was so pleasant to chat with and really knowledgeable. I loved the whole experience. Enjoyed a wine tasting at their indoor/outdoor firepit. We made a reservation for the fire pits as opposed to the tasting to ensure we could get one, and because we didn't know which flights we wanted to go with. We had to prepay for the booking, but were refunded for the reservation as soon as we arrived. They had 3 different flights you could pick from, ranging from $35-$75 per flight. Each flight had a mix of reds and whites, with one having a rosé as well. We decided on the Paso Robles and Deseo tasting flights to share. They also had a small menu of snacks like cheese and meats. We got the Jamon and manchego to enjoy fireside with our tasting. Stephanie was our server/winetender and she was great! She was new to the team, but still gave us stellar service and was fun to chat with. Since we were sharing our flights she was even nice enough to replace the repeat wines we had, so that we could try different ones. Five stars for Stephanie! We tried quite a few different wines here since we did the two differing flights, unfortunately most of the wines weren't really our thing, but we still did like two enough to take them home with us. The whites and rosé were our personal favorites, but we struggled to get into the reds. Overall, it was a cool spot with a convenient downtown location and great service. The tasting room was a swanky lounge with dark vibes and felt like a great place to spend some later hours - they are open super late! I probably wouldn't come back to taste, but might come back for a glass later in the evening and to enjoy the fire pit. read more

It has been 2+ years since we were last here and we are glad we stopped in once again. The place is big with lots to look at: cool chandeliers, lots of art pieces and knick knacks on shelves. You can tell whoever designed the space knows what they're doing. The vibe is sexy without feeling pretentious -kind of like Paso. Our server, Joseph, was great! High energy and very welcoming. He was also knowledgeable beyond his years about the wine. It seems like everyone knows him! He had several people swing by just to say hi in the hour we were there before dinner. That's a great sign. He also knows the area very well and can give tips on where to go to dinner. We had made resos already and once we told him where, he was very quick to approve where we had picked lol. Wine was also very good. We had the 2018 cab and we should have bought some for dinner. He did mention they have a tasting room in Napa as well for next time we head up north. If ever in Paso, definitely add Serial to your list of places to stop in - you'll love it. read more

We decided to have an after dinner glass of wine and chose Serial Wines because it looked so inviting. So very happy from the moment we arrived. It has a beautiful atmosphere and very friendly staff. My husband had a great glass of red wine that was a suggestion from our server and it was delicious. I enjoyed a glass of sparkling wine that was excellent. We had the best time and went home with plenty of great wines, including Sam's self proclaimed "Pizza Wine" the 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon -- which I just had to try with Pizza immediately. Excellent experience with Joseph and some unique tasting wines. Interesting business model as well regarding the sourcing of the grapes. We tasted many wines and I picked up a cab and a couple of the 2021 red blends which was my favorite. They offer a military discount which we appreciated. Stumbled upon this gem during a short stay in Paso Robles. The decor is beautiful...really sets the right vibe for enjoying delicious wine. The service was A1! Abby was personable and attentive despite having a full house and being solo.
