Overall, the staff at Pomona Valley Health Centers were kind, respectful, and professional, and I…read moreappreciate their assistance throughout the process. However, I was disappointed with the unnecessary delay in completing my physical clearance. The delay appeared to be caused by miscommunication and uncertainty regarding the responsibilities of the different departments. Although the X-ray was completed through another department within the same health center, the results were not initially made available to the doctor. I was also informed by the imaging department that the results would be sent to the doctor and would be available through the patient portal for the appropriate staff to access. Despite this, I had to make several phone calls and make multiple trips back and forth to the health center to ensure that the X-ray results had been received and that my clearance could move forward. This was very time-consuming, stressful, and disappointing, especially since the information was already available within the same health system. I believe clearer communication and coordination between departments could have prevented this delay and made the process much smoother for the patient. Other than this issue, I have always had a positive impression of Pomona Valley Health Centers, and it would continue to be my choice for healthcare services. I appreciate the kindness and respect shown by the staff and hope that this feedback can help improve coordination and communication for future patients.

When I went to the urgent Care, I had a horrendous lung infection. The reviews online had made it…read moresound like they had a licensed general practitioner on staff. The receptionist at the front desk was pleasant enough, but what happened in the doctors office was unbelievably bad. I never saw a physician instead I saw a unsupervised physicians assistant there was not a doctor in the facility. The medical assistant for the PA came in and began an initial intake she was nice. She had not taken my blood pressure yet. She left the room to get a different blood pressure cuff. She reentered the room with the PA. The mail PA asked me why I was there. I explained to him that I had had a lung infection going on two weeks and that it was not getting any better and that I needed something to calm down the cough., I wanted to be tested for RSV and Covid and I probably needed to have an order for a chest x-ray over at Pomona Valley Hospital. What happened next was shocking the PA told me well. We need to send you to the emergency room right away your blood pressure is 110/170! You could have a stroke or a heart attack. I looked at the nursing assistant and said well Dr. that's impossible for two reasons first I am on blood pressure medication that has kept my blood pressure very stable for over 10 years and I doubt that my blood pressure is that high. Secondly your assistant hasn't even taken my blood pressure yet. Instead of the PA apologizing and taking my blood pressure the individual double down and said well we're not going to be able to treat you at this facility. You need to go to the emergency room. When I asked why considering that the PA had not done a physical exam yet he told me that they did not have the ability to treat me at their facility. I asked to speak to the physician in charge and I was told that they did not have a physician on staff at that urgent care. I said well can you reach One via telehealth And I was told no. I asked could you please give me a prescription for a cough suppression medication or an expectorant and I was told no I began to get a little irritated, and I said at the very least you could do a physical examination order the chest x-ray a and labs so that I don't have to spend five hours at the emergency room wasting an emergency room physicians time. The PA turned around, began walking out the door and said you're going to have to go to the emergency room. I received no care at this urgent care and yet they charged my insurance company for a urgent care visit. I have actually called my insurance company and informed them of the experience and encourage them not to pay the bill. This is actually a first for me, but in the last two years I have become less and less impressed by the Pomona Valley Hospital care system and their urgent cares. It feels to me like their physicians and their PAs need more training. The PAs need supervision and guidance from a more experienced, licensed medical professional based on this experience, I would never go back to La Verne Pvhc Urgent Care. I actually went to another urgent care that is not part of the pvhc system the next day and received high-end quality urgent care from a pa under the direct supervision of a doctor. What I would expect from a Urgent doctors appointment. It turned out that I had RSV , I was immediately given cough medicine and supportive care, advice and I was treated and made a full recovery. It is unfortunate that I had to go to two urgent care to get the actual care that I needed so I really hope that my insurance company does not pay them for this visit because they did nothing to deserve a financial reward. The only reason that I am giving them two stars is because the receptionist at the front desk was very nice.

She was saying that she doesn't know their availability and that they only do physicals at certain times. Yet, she seemed to want me to tell her when I could come in. I don't know the doctors' schedules so I need to know what is available. This shouldn't be difficult. I'm no mind reader and don't know intuitively what time slots the docs are available for a physical. I ended up telling the girl I was going to just call somewhere else and hung up.

When asked to pay my copay I had informed the receptionist's that I had forgotten my wallet and had asked if they had my credit card information on file. After they had explained to me that they don't keep that kind of information on file, I had politely asked if they could possibly bill us or if my wife could come by after work and pay it. Apparently my sick children are not a concern of theirs. I had to leave without getting treatment for my daughters. Needless to say "YOUR FIRED"!!!!!!!! We will be looking for a new primary care physician, preferably one who treats patients like patients instead of billing events. You should be ashamed of yourself after over 10 years of of being your " patients" you would think you could treat the sick children in your office. We have never failed to pay a bill and had never not paid the copay before.... This is a sad excuse for health care. Do you even remember the reason you got into this business? Probably for the money apparently... Believe it or not some doctors go into this field to help people. But, I guess this is the sad reality of what Healthcare has become in this country. If you are looking for a doctor to show you compassion and care I would look elsewhere.

Moving from Las Vegas and having the same doctor for 15 years, I have had a hard time finding or trusting doctors in California. Today was my first visit with him after seeing his physician assistant once. I left the office with a sense of relief that I was in good hands. He took the time to listen and get to know me. He took the time to reassure me of the things I was worried about. Dr Deanda office staff have all been friendly! I am confident that in his office hands I will have the best health care and he will provide his knowledge to keep me my healthiest possible. I would recommend Dr Deanda hands down:) Its gonna be a close tie between my doctor in Vegas and dr Deanda forsure! I could not feel more relieved after leaving his office today that I finally have a dr that cares and I can trust.. UPDATE! Unfortunately I have to Revise my awesome review about Dr. Deanda! After months of going to him telling him my problems he finally did 2 tests. Mri of my back and X-ray. Which came back with nothing of concern for herniated discs. I had been going in for moths thinking I had a kidney infection. Extreme lower back pain, abdominal pain, fatigue. A feeling of just not feeling well. After running the two test and not proceeding to check any further he diagnosed me with fibromyalgia! Passed me off cymbalta. Knowing my ins was gonna lapse I hoped he would give a care enough to really check to rule out all other before giving me a last resort diagnosis! I left there feeling not ok about his diagnosis and called my dr of 15 years in Vegas. He told me that is last resort diagnosis and there should have been more testing done. So here I am feeling unwell without ins. If you are looking for a dr to handle your colds he is very fast and easy to talk to. If you are looking for a dr that gives a crap enough to make sure to test and get accurate diagnosis I would look else where. He proceed to tell me as I cried that at least he didn't tell me I have a brain tumor, well that's s good thing cause he never tested for that!!!!

On top of that, both Dr. Rios and his staff are welcoming and really treat patients as individual people. They will remember you by name and ask about your life and interests. Please save your money and the stress of being treated like you do not matter... go somewhere else where they value and appreciate your business. Patients who come with urgent needs are told " we will make you a appointment tomorrow" your insurance won't pay for a urgent care visit you need to book a regular appointment. patently untrue. Medicare pays the same for urgent care appointment as they do a regular appointment so This is about profits not care. When I did see a PA for the wound that should have been dressed by a urgent care they called the fire department and a ambulance! What a waste of county resources! I was transferred to a local er that was on lock down. I sat in that hospital ER for 16 hours overnight! When The ER physician was finally free to help me hours later, he said I do not understand why your doctors urgent care could not address this simple injury. They should have dressed it with a topical antibiotic cream. I wholeheartedly agree. When I tried to talk to the to the office manager the next day, I was unheard and treated disrespectfully. Then she sent a certified letter to me a few weeks later terminating the Dr patient relationship with a CC to their attorney! Can we say passive - agressive implied threat? How completley silly and a unprofessional Hippa violation! One more sketchy note: they sell in office Iv treatments that are bagged like a convenience store sale item. While some of them may help for jet lag , flu and hangovers I take exception to the one called the "Myers cocktail" They imply in their literature and web site that it can help a wide list of diseases including dementia , Alzheimer's,... need I say more? Ok... my mother is dying right now from this horrible disease I know ALOT about it. I did mention to the office manager that It felt a bit scammy and wrong to imply that a vitamin Iv would help Alzheimer's. 99% of neurologists will tell you that a cocktail iv might offer a small vitamin boost. It will not help or slow down the diseases listed in the advertising for this Myers Cocktail. The two offices in this practice are not wheelchair accessible, based on my experience I feel the staff lacks ada, cultural and mental health competence.

I had a very upsetting experience with Dr. Khawam. I have been dealing with severe back pain for…read morealmost a year, and the pain has significantly affected my sleep, daily activities, and ability to work. I attempted to have an MRI done three separate times, but because of my severe claustrophobia, I was unable to complete it. I came to see the doctor because I wanted to know if there were other options, such as sedation, that could allow me to get the MRI or if there were other tests that could help determine what was causing my pain. Instead of listening to my concerns, I felt that I was being dismissed. He questioned why I needed the MRI and what I thought it was going to show. He told me that my options were physical therapy and losing weight and suggested that my weight was likely the reason for my back pain. I understand that my weight is something I need to address, but I know my body, and I know that the severe pain I have been experiencing is not something I should simply be told to live with because of my weight. I was looking for a doctor to listen to me and help determine why I have been in so much pain. When I became upset, he told me to give him a moment while he spoke with a colleague. When he returned, I felt that his attitude toward me was even worse. He asked me what I thought was wrong with me. At that point, I became overwhelmed and walked out because I no longer felt comfortable continuing the conversation. I want to give a special thank-you to the front desk staff. They listened to me when I came out of the room upset, allowed me to explain what had happened, and helped me get connected with Corrina, the nurse. I truly appreciate them taking my concerns seriously instead of ignoring what had happened. I am also very grateful to Corrina, who called me, listened to me, apologized for my experience, and told me she would speak with the doctor and his supervisor. Most importantly, she actually helped me move forward. She was able to get a CT scan ordered as an alternative since I could not complete the MRI, as well as referrals to neurology and neurosurgery to explore other options, including ways I may eventually be able to complete an MRI. My CT results showed that there are issues with my spine that require further evaluation, which was extremely upsetting to me because I felt that I had initially been ready to be dismissed as simply being overweight. I am sharing this review because patients deserve to be listened to, treated with compassion, and taken seriously, especially when they are experiencing severe pain. I am thankful that I spoke up for myself and that the front desk staff and Corrina took the time to listen and advocate for me. Without their help, I don't know if I would have gotten the additional testing and referrals I needed. Thank you to the front desk staff and especially Corrina for treating me with kindness and helping me when I felt like I wasn't being heard.

She wasn't the doctor I had chosen so unfortunately I was stuck with her. She dismissed a picture of me almost in anaphylactic shock as "I suggest taking a Claritin." She dismissed how I described living in mold infested housing meant I had symptoms of fatigue, she misunderstood mycotoxins and said "no, if you had a fungal infection I wouldn't been able to tell. I work with those people in a hospital." The unbelievable student assistant/student doctor also laughed at me after asking me what I thought I was diagnosed as. The other doctor didn't even care that the girl asked me that, she was already out of the door and didn't care. I guarantee you she brought the student doctor as an example of "here's a patient who's symptoms aren't real, let's look at her as an example of what happens to people who make up symptoms." Because of this now I'm gonna have to pay out of pocket for actual specialists and not inexperienced residents who dismiss everything. More expensive out of pocket but it will be worth it to avoid this type of BS.
