It's now been a week since I have reached out due to my service and I have not heard from any one from the spa. I have tried my best to communicate my experience. As a first time prenatal client to their facility, I left with more angst and stress. Though their spa is beautiful and spotless. Their front desk lacks tack and therapist lack experience, leaving me feeling quiet frustrated in my lack of relaxation during my visit and completely underwhelmed In the amount of body work I received for a 90 min service. Please reach out to me! My complaint was one that should not go unread, but one I wish to not publish so publicly. read more

I was surprised with this wonderful stress relieving massage!!!! My massage therapist was great. Appts were made and before the massage we Signed some paperwork for allergies and medications then brought to a room to get ready for the massage. The therapist asked where he needed to focus on and then my 90 min massage started. In-between the massage he put some lavender scents for me to smell and it was very calming. I will be back!!!!! read more

WOOT WOOT!!! This is my 200th Yelp Review! THIS PLACE WAS AMAZING!!! From start to finish, had the best experience EVER! I really felt like I was in a really high end spa retreat! We came here yesterday, my friend and I. We needed this spa day to get some of our back pain addressed. We were immediately greeted upon entering, the ladies working the reception area was very nice! One of the ladies walked us into their Zen room, it was so nice and roomy. The smell of aromatherapy and the setting got us relaxed before our massages. My masseuse was Justine, I went with their deep tissue massage this time. She brought me to my room where they had a robe and a pair of slipper set out for me. Once I got changed, I was instructed to head back to the Zen room where I would be getting a foot soak! That was such a nice little treat! I then headed back to the room to start my massage. Justine was wonderful! I had asked for firm pressure and BOY...did she deliver! The massage was Heaven! I felt so relaxed. I'd enjoyed every moment of it! After the massage was done, she came back and handed me a cup of water and a chocolate covered strawberry! They really treat you well here! My back pain were all addressed here! I am so glad my friend recommended this place for us. I am never going back to any of my old spa places again, this will be the only spot from now! read more

This review is for the manager who I interacted with both times. She sold me the package and was also very accommodating with returning my balance which was more than I expected. And I didn't even have to go into the shop to run my card or anything! She also profusely apologized and gave me a complimentary sauna session. Wish their sauna worked the way I need it to. read more

I go on massages regularly, most times 3-4 time a month. I've also gone to different places to see what's out there and have a basis for comparison. My friend is the same and we went to Serenity Spa together. Unfortunately, the body massage and foot treatment experiences at Serenity Spa was incredibly disappointing compared to other, more affordable places. I'd like to start by saying that their staff is incredibly polite and the place is, of course, more "posh-looking" than most regular massage places. It's clean and smells relaxing; perhaps to get your body to wind down before your service. They also have various interesting merchandise available for purchase, but for me, they're a little too overpriced. Going back to the services I purchased with the body massage first. The room is a standard size with the usual equipment. The light was a little too bright, but not bothersome as you're on your belly anyway. After the service started, I realized I could hear the conversation in the next room. I could hear voices, but I tried to tune it out so I didn't really make out what the conversation was about. It got a little irritating that there's this mumbling and I realized it's because there wasn't any music. I asked the massage therapist if we could put on some spa music and he did. I had a male massage therapist, and I think he may be a little too cautious than a female therapist. I appreciated it at first, as I understand he probably wanted to make sure I'm as comfortable as possible. However, it got a little too much that I couldn't relax and would need to respond to every "Is it okay" question. As for the massage itself, it was a little too soft for my preference, so I indicated that I wanted much firmer pressure, but it didn't improve much. After the body massage, I was led to another room to wait for the foot treatment. The room had two couches facing each other and side tables. I noticed there were towels and "ingredients" on the floor. It turns out that's where the foot treatment was going to happen. Once the person came, I asked if that's where the treatment is going to be performed and she said yes. This was extremely uncomfortable, personally, because somebody's sitting on the floor, washing my feet, as I sit on the couch. It didn't sit quite right. I asked if they provide her with a stool to sit on, at least, but that was not the case. She probably sensed that I was really uncomfortable and offered to take me to her "facial room" and had my lie down as she finishes the service. The service itself was okay, although not remarkable. It may be that my expectations were higher than usual, but this is an expensive place and booking appointments is not easy, so I thought the quality follows. It didn't, and that's too bad. After all the service, my friend and I talked about our experience and, unfortunately, she had the same comment overall -- it's not worth the price tag. Hope this helps you decide! read more

An amazing experience from Enzyme bath, massage and facial. So peaceful there and the staff were very pleasant and knowledgeable. If I'm ever I. The area again...I will book an all day appointment. read more

I went in for one of the package services that included a facial, massage, foot bath and lunch. It was fantastic. The staff was friendly and the spa was very clean. Lunch was good, too! My aesthetician's name was Romania (I think, can't remember her name or find it on online) and masseuse was Corrine. My face and skin is so revitalized and beautiful after my facial, it was one of the best I've ever gotten done. My massage was also wonderful, Corinne was very mindful and attentive. Definitely would go back again! read more

Who knew that a upscale Zen spa can be found in the little town of Folsom. I walked in and I am mediately felt relaxed. The staff was so friendly and welcoming welcoming. One of the most amazing spas I've been to. And Ashley was so intuitive and knew exactly what I needed. She had an amazing touch, with the knowledge of working my pressure points. I would highly recommend this to anybody that's traveling through the area or that lives in town. read more

This is an overdue post about my second facial here at Serenity Spa Folsom. I'm a guy and I still cant believe what I was missing out on. After my first one I fell asleep 3-4 times, snorting (yeah I know) awake each time. I was determined to stay awake this time. I had coffee beforehand, got plenty of sleep the night before, I was ready! Sat down, answered a few preference questions, focused on the negative energy release from the temples, forehead, neck, and couldn't it believe when I awakened mid process! Thankfully this time no snorting. The feeling of relaxation is out of this world. I love massages and get them regularly but dang the facial is crazy good too! Thank you Serenity Spa! Highly recommended! read more

I went to Serenity the other and received a 90 minute full body massage from Ashlynne Jordan. I've have a hard time finding a therapist I like and she exceeded my expectations. Ashlynne was able to intuitively tap into what my body needed. She released so much stagnant energy and I felt lighter and fully relaxed after my massage. I used to always get really deep tissue massages but have learned it's not necessarily what my body always need. I loved that Ashlynne used a nice medium pressure but went deeper with her pressure when needed. She was very attentive to the areas I wanted to focus on even though it was a full body massage. I would highly recommend her to someone who is looking for a customized massage to release pain and stagnant energy. read more

I went to Serenity Spa for the first time last weekend and got a massage with Autumn, it was spectacular! She started me off with a nice foot soak in my cozy robe and offered me some delicious fruit infused water. The bed was so comfy and warm and she sprayed these chakra scents throughout the massage, I loved that part. It was without a doubt the best massage I've ever had, my back and neck are knot free and feel a million times better. When I booked, the gals at the front desk were so sweet and helpful, they answered all my questions and ran through the different services with me. I love the little shop up front too - you can buy all kinds of home decor, haircare and skincare products, yoga swag and a ton of healthy vitamins and herbs. The design and atmosphere of this place was like nothing I've ever seen and every inch was sparkling clean. I was so pleased with my relaxing experience and their friendly staff, I will definitely be going back! read more

I wanted to like it, and it was a special occasion for my friend. We went there in January, we both got massages, and afterwards I didn't probe my friend for information other than "it was nice" but I refrained from stating my disappointment. The girl (masseuse) was texting on her phone while giving me a massage! I wondered why her hands were not moving and she was just pressing on one spot forever, and I kind of turned around and saw her. PHONES should be put in a cabinet and NOT taken out until the massage is over. Other professional massage spas do this, they put the phones away for this very reason. I can't believe that a spa that charges these prices would allow that. No, I did not complain after the service because my friend was there and I wanted her to be happy. I will not return, unless this spa changes its police and prevents young masseuses from paying attention to their texts instead of their paying clients. read more

I'd always wanted to try Serenity and did so as a gift on Mother's Day. To be fair, my therapist was excellent and the experience would've been better had the therapist been on time. 30 minutes late and no longer was my appt aligned with my daughter's, I approached the front desk. Someone helped me, but not readily, and shared they were running behind, however, I'd expected at an upscale establishment like Serenity, there would've been closer attention to customer service. Im not high maintenence, but I didnt feel seen. I should have been approached first, apologized to, offered something in return. Doing so may have encouraged me to return. My daughter and I did not feel our therapists addressed the form we filled out. And if Serenity calls to change our time to 3:30, then we should both be seen at that time. Fortinately my daughter paid prior to my massage being done because no one received me at the reception afterwards and I walked out without a word being said to me. For the cost of services, I expect more. Since it was a gift, I feel even worse that it partially was a gift wasted. read more

Earlier this week, my boyfriend was wanting to treat us to a nice couples massage which I never had done before. I actually one had one message ever about 8 years prior, and quite honestly this experience has turned me off to any kind of massage. Let me start with the situation at the Roseville location. My Man sworn that he called that location a few days prior for a early appointments but unfortunately did not get any confirmation of the appointment that was made. We showed up to the appointment early & extremely excited, but we got hit with the bad news of no appointment was ever made in their system. The women who was at the front deck was being very condescending as well as avoiding to solve the issue. After 15 minutes of standing around and hearing her condescending tone she finally comes up with a solution which was fitting us in the last appointment which was 6:30pm at the Folsom location. Now on to the the issues I had with Folsom Serenity Spa. We get there, hoping that the struggle at the Roseville location will be made up by the Folsom location. As we got there, we filled out the paperwork & my boyfriend had to rush to use to the restroom before we got started. When he was in the restroom, the two women who were the massage came in & asked if I was ready. I mentioned that my man was in the restroom and he will be back. One women said that she would be right back, as the other just flopped herself on the couch across from me. I awkwardly introduce myself as we stare at each other & she says a short hello. I try to stir some conversation by asking if she had a long day & how was her day. My boyfriend finally came back in and the women who was once flopped in a couch was now quick on her feet to introduce herself to my boyfriend & shake his hand. The other women who left the room, came around the corner and also introduce herself to my man. They both had the intention of massage my boyfriend, which left me awkwardly wondering who was gonna massage me. The two women start to go back & forth about who was gonna massage who, and I finally get up with my clipboard & hand it to the women who I had a short convo minutes prior. They took us back to get undress, and we both agreed that it was a bit awkward from the jump. Finally, the massage... Well the massage was decent besides the fact that my head rest was loose, and had to have it replaced. The face sheet was set on the ground and put on the new head rest. Not too big for of a issue for me but what got me was when she was massaging my feet and shortly after, my face was being massaged. I was quickly unimpressed and grossed out. All I can think about is wanting to wash my face. Throughout my massage, she kept picking up and setting down a rolling chair that was a bit interruptive during the so call relaxing experience. As well as slamming the oil bottle on the counter. Under the silver ling, my man had a great deep tissues massage and his massager didn't make a single noise. $260 later and I don't want to get a massage for awhile. read more

I can't say enough positive things about this store. For one the employees are so friendly and helpful. You can tell they enjoy their jobs and are happy to be there. Very sweet both of the gals that were there today. The store has an instant calming effect. My daughter is 3 months old and had been crying majorly at sea quest. We left and walked into this store and she was content and smiling the entire time it was pretty neat. They have so many amazing things in there and when I walked in I saw a display with beautiful rocks and I looked down and there was one that said Grace which is my daughter's name. It was so meant to be and of course came home with me. They had some really cute clothes and yoga pants. It smelled really nice in there and we were offered delicious water with fresh mint and something else in it can't remember. I really would like to try some of their classes and the spa. There are so many choices to choose from and they all sound amazing and so relaxing. They even offer a free group meditation class. We will definitely be coming back to the store soon there were so many things we wanted to buy! read more

I started out at the Granite bay location. My first experience here was for the Yoga Teacher Training. Highly recommended: I went to this spa over the weekend and got exactly what I asked for! * They checked to make sure the pressure during the massage was good * I was offered heat packs on my shoulders * They used essential oils when I had a stuffy nose * They applied acupressure after they asked if they could do that. * I told them to focus on certain areas, and to not spend too much time on others. (A lot of times these kind of requests are ignored when you go to chain places, but my girl totally listened) The spa is gorgeous, and when they say it's a 90 minute appointment, they truly work on you for the full time! I really enjoyed it. read more

Really disappointing experience. I was there for the Birthday package this afternoon and the 3 hour experience is time I wished I could get back. The facial was great but the foot and whole body massage was more like an oil rub down. The front desk staff seemed distracted, and lacked customer service! I don't get to do this very often and after paying $300 for this package it was a total bummer!! read more

I regularly go to the free meditations and they are awesome. The full moon meditations (not free but totally worth $17) are something special! They also have free community yoga sometimes. Serenity Spa was amazing! I usually don't do spa days but after I went, I thought "dammit, I need to do this more often!" It's really cute when you walk in! It's furnished nicely, smells nice with some aromatherapy going on, and more importantly, it's clean. They offer a variety of spa services, they use high quality products, the environment is serene and relaxing, and the customer service is top notch. I would definitely recommend this spa for anyone looking for a day of pampering! read more

My first trip here is a result of a gift certificate, actually a gift membership. I'm a guy and I went in for a massage and I was a little nervous at first. It is so nice that I worried I might break something. Whether or not the staff could sense my anxiety, they treated me like the beloved. I am used to the kind of rub-down you get at the gym and was confused when my massage therapist instructed me to prepare for the "foot-soak" that preceded the massage. This meant going commando in a worm robe provided by them and putting on some rubber sandals before coming out to speak with her about the massage. It was a nice, though unfamiliar, surprise. The consultation was done with my feet in warm, soapy water; a glass of citrus-scented water in my hand. I asked for a deep-tissue treatment because my neck was hurting from shouldering a telephone. Deep-tissue massage is not always comfortable, but I try to believe it is helpful for certain things and that's what I needed today. On my next visit, I will choose a gentler treatment. That being said, I could not more highly recommend Serenity Spa and my powerful therapist, Heather. She listened to my statements about the discomfort in my neck and gave most of her attention to that area as I had requested. She was hands-on for the full hour. More remarkable, however, is that once the session was over, she stopped me on the way out and gave me some exercise suggestions to help relieve the distracting pain in my neck. I am going back and I recommend it to everyone...you too, guys. read more

Serenity Spa is an absolutely charming and delightful place with a thoroughly enjoyable ambience and friendly, accommodating staff. I got a great massage and facial. The massage was an Ayurvedic massage using lots of oil which I personally like... And at the end she pours warm oil on my forehead that went in to my hair and she massages in. My hair felt so soft after I washed it and the massage was just amazing. The facial was really nice too with more hand neck and foot massage! When each service is done they bring you water and hot towel and a chocolate covered strawberry! TINA GIVES THE GREATEST MASSAGES!! I took one star off because it was very loud in there. Could hear Lots of talking, doors, music they had up loud in the empty yoga room. It really took something from the experience. I could hear it all over the music in my massage room. The staff did not even try to keep their voices low. :( I really would think they would have a whisper policy in the back like most high end spas. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Serenity Spa! I booked a 90 minute Stress Fix massage. When I checked in, the receptionist was very friendly and offered me tea or water with lemon, then took me back to the "Zen Room," a dimly lit room with abundant pillows, rugs, and couches. The ambiance was very relaxing as I filled out my paperwork. When I was done with paperwork, I met Angelica, who was my masseuse. She started with a foot soak/mini foot massage, and then moved onto the actual massage. She did an incredible job! I haven't felt that relaxed in a long time! She made sure to ask me about my day-to-day activities so she knew what areas to target. After the massage, I was given water and a chocolate covered strawberry - super sweet finishing touches! Highly recommend Serenity Spa - I won't go anywhere else for massages now! read more

I went to Serenity Spa for the second time last week with my husband- after what was a lackluster first visit experience. The Spa manager connected with me about it, and convinced us to give it another try. While I do think there are quirks to every Spa that makes them a unique love-them-or-hate-them deal, my massage from DeAnna basically made all of that a blur because she was pretty much the most phenomenal masseuse I've ever come across in my 20+ years of being a Spa/Massage junkie. She's a bit of a big personality, but her hands will work your muscles and turn you into pudding. read more

Great location and interior. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Feels a little inauthentic to have so many emblems of Buddhism in a commercial enterprise, but I know that's typical of the industry. The high score is for the staff and facilities, and for the potential with my masseuse. I got a Swedish massage, I didn't catch my masseuse's name- she had purple dreads. She did a great job on my legs and hands, but pretty bad on my back. I told her I get knots around my shoulder blades, so she spent a lot of time just pressing her elbows into different spots. Very little actual rubbing to help release the tension. She touched my lower back only twice, and barely touched my glutes. She did not touch my rib/abdomen area at all. It would've been nice to have a more even massage, and not ignore big parts of my body. I would see her again, but next time I would have to be VERY specific with what I want, which is annoying. read more

First time here. I want to start off by saying that if you want to relax, just zone out, and get rejuvenated (obviously if you are reading this ) then I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you requesting KAPOA (Therapist name). She is Hawaiian and I am sure she did not have any issues being certified! She is amazing at what she does. Super friendly, and all she needed to hear was my lower back being my problematic area, and she very easily balanced out the demand for location focus, but yet stayed on top of focusing to my lower back. I have been to many Spa's and Massage centers, but this has got to be the current top place that I could recommend to anyone. The vibe is just great. The structural design, interior design, attention to specifics really just makes everything so much better. You will love it! If you want to feel like the king of the hour (or hours), then this is the place! A+++ read more

Had a fantastic Vitamin C facial with Aimie and an awesome 90-minute Swedish massage with Stephanie! This place is beautiful and so welcoming from the second you walk in. Aimie was very knowledgeable and recommended some skin care products and changes to my routines that I will for sure be implementing. Stephanie was so nice and did a great massage. I will give this place 3.5 stars. However for Joy alone I give her 5 stars, she's the manager that contacted me after raising some concerns with my first visit. Joy was very persistent on having me give them another shot and get the massage I was suppose to get initially. As hesitant as I was, I couldn't say no. So I went, and let me tell you, the appointment I had this time was a complete 180 of what I had on my first visit! At this appointment I had an actual foot rub in the Zen room, something I did NOT get on my first visit. During my massage I didn't experience any interruptions, nor was there any time wasted on the masseuse reaching for the massage oil. The pressure was consistent and just right. I still can't get myself to give them a rating of 4 stars or 5 due to the fact that at a place like this.... and the amount of money and time one is willing to spend, you would hope that you wouldn't have to experience the inconsistency of masseuse that you would expect at a lower end/hole in the wall place. However, I do appreciate Joy's customer service, she is great at what she does and takes great pride in it. I just think managers need to do a reevaluation on their employee(s) to prevent this from happening again. read more
