Leap Yoga has revived my love for yoga again and the key, for me, was community! I've taken a flow and kundalini class. Both has warm and inviting teachers and everyone was socializing before and after class- that's the type of community I want to be a part of and see! This yoga dojo is in Folsom. Seemingly a looooooong way to go for a 2 hour yoga session! Ahhh but that's where you'd be wrong my flat footed, sciatica inflamed yoga wanna be! Besides having cool stuff for sale, a full shower a water fall sculpture greeting you at the front door, a massive room with warm colors for many folks to spread out and get their yoga on; this particular day the founder of the Kaiut yoga method, was on hand. For some, this was a full weekend event starting last Thursday evening with sessions everyday, two today Saturday and two more Sunday. Francisco Kaiut from Brazil, https://kaiutyoga.com/en/ Conducting our class in faintly Portuguese accented English, has a strong but soothing voice, Miked up so the room of 60 plus folks could hear him, he tipped toed through the room helping everyone maximize the positions. Our own instructors from Sunday's in Pt Richmond were also in attendance brushing up on techniques and eagerly stretching breathing and generally enjoying a packed house. I think the youngest participant was 29, the oldest 98. Yep 98! Folks in wheel chairs, folks with all sorts of health issues, unfurled their mats, and worked out some kinks and challenged the limits of their bodies and injuries. We love our 1 hour session each Sunday. Participating in a full 2 hours with the master himself was pretty darn special. I was able to thank him for a great workout also praising Chris, our instructor who was speaking with Francisco after the event. "Ah Chris he's ok!" He joked. "Trust me, had I not been doing this yoga for the last 9 months, I likely would not have been able to do Half the positions we did today." I said. That made both Francisco and Chris smile broadly and I left them to continue their conversation. Kaiut yoga, where ever you can find a class, I highly recommend it! read more

Leap instructors are excellent and provide carefully planned and considered instructions throughout the classes. However, one major drawback is they use the MindBody app (it sucks!) and their virtual classes streaming is poor. read more

I came, I saw, and I sweat! I'd only done hot yoga once before at another location. I've also done yoga classes at my old work place. I feel that yoga is an important activity that I need in my daily life. It helps relieve stress and makes my overall body feel at its best. So I looked around for a local studio. Leap was close to work and had an excellent trial membership, 30 days for $30! The studio is small but has everything you need. + Bamboo floors! + Towel service and on-site showers + Brita filtered water + Mats, blocks, the works Most classes have an assistant that will come help you with your poses. It can be a little awkward but it's really great. They've helped me go deeper into a pose, correct my poses, and massage my while I'm in child's pose. The community here is really friendly. Just a really wonderful place to practice and feel safe. They also have great taste in music here. The only thing I didn't like was the parking. It can be hard to find a spot. P.S. I loved this studio until I had to cancel my membership. Unfortunately they've still charged my card two separate months. I canceled in June. They charged me $109 in September. They charge me $109 in November. I loved the yoga part of this studio but the billing department needs help. read more

My friend recommended a workshop here at Leap Yoga and since it was 10 minutes away from my house, I decided to give it a try. Parking is a little tricky here, I really believe it's all about timing. I've come here too early and the parking lot is insane. Other times I've come here and the parking was not a problem. The studio is very well organized, they have a barcode keychain check-in system which is great and so convenient! Their assortment of classes is really attractive and I also love the schedule. I really like that they are 15 minutes closer to me than another vinyasa studio so I may have to come here from now on. Friendly staff, great yoga flow, clean, great bathrooms and amenities, and welcoming environment. Hope to bring my husband here too one day. read more

I love LEAP yoga! I was not much of a yoga person because most classes I went to were too invasive. I had bad experiences in other classes where teachers were too forceful when adjusting I have gotten hurt. The LEAP experience is so positive and gentle and not invasive at all!!! I came to leap expecting it to be difficult and with the heat I was nervous, but I love the added challenge! Stacy's classes are my favorite because she has a great way bringing meditation into the practice. I also attended the mantra workshop and the detox flow workshop. Both were great. The staff are helpful and the whole studio is set up to create a kind community. I love coming here after work. It is a great way for me to end my day!! read more

Leap has a good size class schedule and a friendly staff. I've liked all the teachers I have taken classes with ( a total of 8 teachers) they also do a lot of workshops . I have gone to three workshops all no heat and all great! I only wish they offered more no heat vinyasa classes . They have yin and Kaiut without heat and one vinyasa without heat. All other classes are heated . I'm still looking for a studio that has No heat . read more

I was a yoga chicken, and I went to my first class not knowing what to expect. I am also handicapped, (leg amputee) so I knew I wouldn't be able to do some of the exercises. But once I got there, the instructor and staff made me feel very comfortable. It was a low impact session and instructor Micheal Mitchell customized some exercises for me. Good for its classes, but canceling is a nightmare. Charged for my membership on February 16, and figured I would cancel so that I wouldn't get charged on March 16, right... I proceed to email (as directed on the phone) and state that I would like my membership canceled as I started school again and can't make it over. Received a confirmation email that I'm not in line with my contract because it should be *30* days cancellation! ....I didn't make the rule that February is short. Luckily, they "let it go (actual words in the email)," but still. There is no reason to point it out, especially when I'm already paying for a membership I won't use for this whole next month. I'm in love with this place and all the people there, but especially Sydney. Have attended two recovery yoga sessions and a workshop and today was my first blessing with Sydney. I can't even put into words how amazing she is. I am in recovery and you can tell she is too. She is so kind and attentive and I will be experiencing as many of her classes as possible. New to town and I sampled a couple studios before I found this gem. The first studio I tried was too corporate. The second didn't offer enough classes but Leap seemed to fit me juuuuust right. The main practice space is full of natural light with high ceilings and nice flooring. The layout is well planned and thoughtful amenities are offered. Leap has the best yoga! I love the traditional classes, with vibrant music and just the right amount of inspiration. I was thrilled to find such a high quality studio after moving here 4 years ago. Wonderful teachers and beautiful facility. Their schedule is perfectly set up to take back-to-back classes like Vinyasa followed by Yin. I like the Sat/Sun morning combos, and Thu evening. Classes can accommodate multiple levels with modifications offered. Workshops are also great too! Loved the fascia one, and Refine & Align. Ahhhh. . Leap. . . All I have to say is when your instructors know you by name and hug you after class, you have community. When you work and have interesting time availability slots, they have classes (545am-7:30pm!) When you are Power Flow'ed out, they have Yin. When you have kids and crave yoga, they have kids classes simultaneously so you can have some "me" time. $30 for 30days is an incredible start up offer, very generous and really gives you some time to fall in love with this studio. The teachers are all different and each enjoyable in their own unique ways. Come to this studio and expect to be inspired, loved, adjusted (if you WANT, they have "don't touch me" or "touch me lightly" buttons you can put by your mat), stretched, strengthened, and of course. . I start to relax just walking in the door and being greeted by a smiling face. I have enjoyed all the classes I've taken here so far, but be forewarned - the Sunday morning basics class is really an all-levels class. I feel that is important to say because if you are new to yoga, you should know that no one expects you to do handstands or to know all the names of the poses. It's hard to find a yin yoga class here in Folsom, and I LOVE the yin yoga at Leap. If you are looking for something more relaxing, less athletic perhaps, a deeper stretch, try yin yoga. The Charming Foreigner, who had half-attempted yoga a few times at other places (and always walked out mid-class), also really enjoys the yin yoga at Leap. I believe his exact words after completing his first ever yoga class were, "That was good." And so it was written. The classes are mostly heated, but not Bikram-hot. I love the loud music; it keeps me going and yoga+music = rejuvanated Akimbo. The teachers are great, as are the assistants. I love getting a little neck rub or alignment help in the middle of my practice. There are showers here - I haven't used them yet but the Charming Foreigner has and reported that they were very clean. My three genie wishes: 1. More YIN, please! 2. I would love more non-heated classes 3. I wish Leap continued success here in Folsom. read more

I've wanted to write a review on this place for a while and I couldn't get it right. I wanted to make sure this place got all the credit it deserves. I searched for Yoga places online and didn't like any of the yelp reviews. All the other studios in the area sounded Blasé. Out of no where I get taken on a date here. My first class with my husband was well...hot. We were sweating profusely and didn't know any poses. It was FUN! It was unexpected. It was an hour and 15 minutes that I wasn't in my mind and just let my body do what it was told. I was hooked. I have been going at least around 10 months. I cant do headstand yet but that doesn't mean I don't try. Its time for me. I love it. You get more than just a Yoga studio. You get a community. You get incredible music. You get a place that is there for YOU. Away from a chaotic, stressful life filled with bills, family, and responsibilities. If you are looking for a yoga studio and are in the area I urge you to come here. Give it a try. You would be a fool not to. read more

I've been going to Leap for about two months now and I absolutely love it. I go everyday and I am totally reaping the benefits of it. I signed up for an unlimited membership before my 30 day intro term was over and was able to save 25%. Thus bringing my monthly fee to $99! Very reasonable for what this place offers. Quick personal note: I have been Fighting a chronic illness for the past 5 years and doing yoga has changed how I feel immensely. I haven't felt this great in years. Not to mention my body is transforming and I feel so strong. I don't think I will ever quit doing this. Everybody at Leap is so sweet and I feel like it's a loving little family. I always leave feeling grateful, grounded and super peaceful. As far at the heat goes: I was nervous when I first tried a heated class. I thought it was going to be miserable and although it's challenging it feels incredible! Different teachers will keep the room at different temperatures; some like it a little cooler than others. From what I've seen the temperature ranges from 80° to 95°. Tip: There are "cooler" spots in the studio than others. Sometimes I don't want to be directly under a vent and all you have to do is look up to the ceiling and see where the vent hits. The heat helps your body to loosen up and detoxify in a way that it normally wouldn't be able to. After not being able to do the splits for 15 years I was able to recently! I owe that to the heat in the room helping aid the heat inside my body. The heat doesn't stay on for the entire class it's usually starts out cooler and through the middle of class it's at the top temperature. It seems like most teachers turn the heat off and the fans on for the last 15-20 minutes or so of class. (So right when you're at your point of feeling a little too uncomfortable it starts to cool down) the teacher helps to cool your inner body down with different instructions as well. At least that's how I feel and what I have experienced. Now when I take a class that's not heated at Leap I sort of crave it. But it's nice to switch it up and they have variety if the heat isn't your thing. But I'm Addicted! I have not taken a class I didn't enjoy. They have a ton of instructors and all of them bring something different to the table. Each class has a different vibe but all of them positive and so beneficial and enjoyable. Morgan's Buti class is so fun and is such a workout. That's twice a week. It's hard but it's set at a really great pace and is easy to follow. It's yoga mixed with tribal dance moves and "popping" not twerking;) she has great playlist with fun upbeat music and a ton of variety. I just wish there were more then 2 classes a week though. Maybe one day. Some of my favorite Vinyasa instructors are: Donna, Robert, Angela, Genevieve, Emily, Butch & Andy...and Danny is new and I have taken her class only 2xs but it was really grounding and exactly what I needed. She does different things then other teachers and sometimes you need a little switch up. Amy is also great, challenging class with lots of heat which I love. She is kinda the "Zen Abdominal devil" ;) I'm always sooo sore after her class! It's awesome. I Also really like Hannah, she has a nice calming energy. I feel Amy, Donna and Emily have more challenging practices but I love that. They keep the heat at a little higher temperature I feel. I like how Emily will suggest to you "if you get too hot just step outside to cool down" and that's not looked down upon. But like I said all of the instructors I have experienced at Leap are incredible. You can tell that management and the owners really know what they're doing and have their system down. It's inspiring to me as a business owner. I can't say enough great things about this place! I'm so grateful I found Leap! The dense feeling of community here is unlike anything I've experienced at other studios. I wish I could get everybody I know to come practice here. What an incredible gift I am fortunate enough to give myself everyday. Yoga at Leap has brought so much to my life. Thanks guys! The best yoga place in town. They have the best yogis and yoginis in Folsom. All day they have classes so it can work around your schedule. To my knowledge they offer private one on one lessons. I first started with the 30 days for $30 and after that got a very good deal for unlimited lessons. The place inside is spacious but not to big, the staff is very helpful. You can buy: refreshing drinks (cold pressed juices and coconut water), water jewelry, yoga clothes, mats, towels...etc The studio offers: Bamboo floors heating ceiling fan cooler spots (on the left near the one door that opens to the backyard Towel service and on-site showers The heat doesn't stay on for the entire class it's usually starts out cooler and through the middle of class it's at the top temperature, and then drops towards the end of class. It's never unbearably hot, I say this because this was the first time I was doing heated classes and I loved them after a week. read more

I had read all the reviews from the other yoga studios in Folsom and this one of course looked the best. I didn't decide to actually go and check it out until I heard from a client how great this place was. I finally went this morning and walked in with greetings and warm smiles. They made me feel very welcome. I went in to class and unrolled my mat not quite knowing what to expect. I had done yoga in the past but never had done a very warm yoga. This studio warms the room between 85 and 90 degrees. It is pretty warm and I was definitely dripping with sweat. I needed to bring a towel which I forgot so I was slipping around a lot! I felt like it was a great workout with different modifications offered for those of us less flexible and even for those with a lot of strength! It was a great class. Afterwards I was able to clean up in the showers they offered before work. I then signed up for 30 days for $30! A steal if you ask me :D read more

I re-discovered yoga after a long hiatus, mostly due to life and all its distractions. After being diagnosed with a thyroid condition sprinkled with the need for stress management, I sought to rekindle the spark with this beloved practice in hopes of avoiding anxiety medication. Yoga is my release and an outlet I am forever grateful to have re-discovered. The spiritual and stress reducing qualities are powerful. I am empowered to live as a true yogi in my daily life. I find myself practicing more compassion, understanding and acceptance of self. Before signing up with Leap I attended another studio for 30 days and also tried a barre(sp?) type workout. In the end, deciding on this studio was a no-brainer. Leap is a community of soulful, happy and loving individuals. I leave feeling refreshed and renewed and truly feel that the instructors care immensely for their students. There is no ego or competition, absolutely no pretentiousness; just pure love and acceptance. I am thankful to have found this gem of a studio. I highly recommend it and yoga in general! P.S. I would like to mention that my practice has seen a dynamic shift when I sought yoga for stress relief and overall spirituality versus weight loss. Yes, that will happen if you are also diligent with other lifestyle factors, but that is icing on the cake. The non aesthetic factors are what keep me coming back for more, PLUS the wonderful people of Leap! If you are seeking yoga for weight loss or maintenance: whatever studio speaks to your heart, I encourage you to focus on the non-aesthetic qualities of yoga at the core of your practice. This is my "Yoga Home." They cultivate a feeling of community, and it is a welcoming community. They offer a variety of class styles, class times, and instructors to work for just about anyone, beginner through serious practitioner. They have a variety of membership levels from drop-in up to unlimited. The studio is always clean, and most classes have fantastic assistants too! I love so many of the instructors that when my regular schedule is disrupted, I rarely mind, because I get to see and practice with someone I also enjoy. I think I have 4 or 5 "favorites"! read more

I've been going here for a short time, but I already feel like it's my yoga home! The whole environment/energy here is relaxing and uplifting--I feel my muscles relaxing as soon as I walk in! The classes can get crowded--esp. the 6:15 class-so, I think it's best to arrive a little early. I've done yoga before in S.F. and in NYC and the classes I've taken here are the best I've ever experienced! The teachers are very knowledgeable--yet not show offy or pretensious. There's no intimidation here--everyone is on their own journey! I feel so incredibly safe here to just focus on the practice--and let my mind be in the moment! I returned after a year having gone to several other Yoga studios to get back in shape for my training, only to realize, that Leap had been the best. I returned because I have found that every instructor there is experienced, friendly and will to push you (if your willing to do so - which I love). I'm not a full time participant in Yoga (full time in the martial arts), but after a class at Leap - I feel rejuvenated and looking forward to coming back again and again. I took a really great prenatal class tonight with Michelle I believe her name is. I have done regular yoga, but never prenatal and it was awesome. Just a really great atmosphere and I left the class feeling calm, rejuvenated and empowered! She was very knowledgeable and had great technique. This is my yoga home! I've been a member here since before they opened. I almost can't find words that can fully describe how amazing this studio, the owners, and the community are. Every class I take, I feel like I am a part of something wonderful. Every time I walk through the doors, even if it's been a while since I've been to my mat, I am greeted with warmth and support.
