It was a huge blessing, considering we wouldn't be able to drive down for one before our wedding. In general, we were reluctant to leave our two pups, Milo and Enzo, at a boarding facility for the first time because we have never left them in another person's care who wasn't a relative. But we are so glad we did and that we had a wonderful experience! Naomi took great care of them for 4 days. She was very responsive, professional, understanding, and most importantly, kind. She gave them all the attention, love and care they seek and need. We were impressed with her clean facility and were relieved that she was able to separate the two dogs during meal time as requested. I was very surprised, as he has never shown any aggressiveness towards other dogs or people. He has attended numerous times and there was always positive reports at pick up. When I asked for the video, or an account of what happened, the staff was not very understanding. I was told that he was approached a few times by the same dog to play, and all times my dog did not want to, but on the final time, he responded inappropriately. I think that was really unfair. Why is my dog the only being held accountable? Additionally, when I asked how many dogs and people were in the yard, I was told 25 dogs and ONE person, which is "standard". What if the person had their back turned and did not see what happened? How is one person able to mange that number of dogs at one time?Why wasn't there any redirection or intervention the first few times the dog approached my dog? None of my questions were answered and I could sense attitude on the other end of the phone. I think that the situation was handled poorly and I wish I would have done more research on this place as well as any and all required trainings by the handlers (if at all), cleanliness of the cabins, person to dog ratio, etc. After reading and doing some research, I realized this was not the only one who experienced this. Cyndi and members of her team came out twice to do a meet and greet with my dogs and went over their daily routine as well as my other pets including our bearded dragon and chickens. While I was gone she communicated frequently throughout giving me updates and sending me pictures. I set up services with her to come twice a day to care for them and each time she checked in and out I was notified via Petcheck dashboard and felt completely at ease knowing I didn't have to worry about them. My bearded dragon was having issues prior to my vacation but she took the time to replace any heat lamp/ light bulbs that needed replacing and gave her a good bath. She made sure my chickens had enough food & water and collected all our eggs. I would 1000% recommend Cyndi if you have any pet sitting needs. She is caring, responsive, reliable, and easy to work with. The petcheck dashboard notified me when she checked in morning and evening on a daily basis via email notifications, allowed me to pay for my services and gave me the option to request additional appointments. I wanted to be sure to take the time to post this because making sure folks are taking their pups to a place you can trust is so incredibly important and feel strongly enough about my concerns to share here. The facility is clearly not properly cleaned/maintained. Each time I have been there, the lobby has an incredibly strong ammonia/foul odor, which I do not find at Camp Bow Wow. The facility cameras that are supposed to be available on their app never seem to be functioning which I find very concerning as I have strong concerns about the environment the dogs are kept in at the facility. The facility tells me each time that they weren't sure what the issue was but would look into it, which is an absolute half-baked response. Last time I picked up my dog, he was very rattled and jumpy. It has been several days now since he has been home and still jumps at the slightest noise, which is 100% not his personality. It very much seems like he was traumatized at this facility and I have made the decision not to bring him back out of an abundance of caution. The only reason I brought him here was because Camp Bow Wow was full. He absolutely loves it there and is beyond excited when we get there. I have zero concerns about boarding him at Camp Bow Wow. The facility is clean and very well maintained. My dog has his own kennel (cabin) there and the cameras online always work properly. I am not sure that the dogs have their own kennels at Dogtopia. He acts 180 degrees different when I brought him to Dogtopia. They need to really do better. I see others post similar reviews on Yelp and the owners respond, but things seemingly never improve despite the negative feedback.

Before you can do any of this you'll need to have a meet & greet furst to ensure that this us a suitable option for your pup. They have separate play areas that are determined by a dogs size I believe. If you're interested in seeing how your dog is doing there is a Webcam for you to check. The dogs have a nap time as well mid day and during this time camera access is not available. What I love the most about Dogtopia though is they have a themed picture day almost once a month! I'm one 9f those dog moms that thinks everything my dog does is adorable so this is perfect, lol.
