NEVER GO HERE. My cousin and I just waited 1.5 hours for a MANICURE. Manicure. Then, the same woman went between me and two others, rushing the entire time. She forgot topcoat, didn't use a hot towel or give a hand massage (as written in description), and when I asked her to do topcoat she said she already did (she did not). She still charged full price. Just got gel polish and I am not happy with it. I was recommended this salon but maybe I just didn't get the right woman? Her name was Callie or Kady I believe. My nails are too short, there are a couple spots under one of the coats on some of the nails. The establishment is nice, I just suggest getting another manicurist. As far as the quality of work goes, they did a good job on our nails. However, I specifically asked to sit beside my sister, because it was her birthday and we wanted to spend time together. The nail rep said no, because they are assigned stations. Okay, whatever. My sister had to sit on the opposite side of the shop by herself. A minute or two later, they proceed to sit a stranger RIGHT NEXT TO ME. I think they could have skipped rotation just once since we specifically wanted to sit together. Customer service gets 1 star. Wish I could rate this place 0 stars. The only reason why I come to this place is because it's close to my house. Every time I come here I regret it. As I'm sitting here waiting... going on an hour. Might I add... I want a full set with regular polish and my nails are already completely bare. Only the very nice receptionist has spoken to me. Every time I come here she is spoken down to by the others. I have watched 5 people be taken ahead of me and the group of African American women were basically kicked out by telling them that the wait will be super long. Little do they know that happens anytime a person of color wants to get their nails done at this establishment. Mr. T just came and sat me in a chair and walked off saying nothing. Now I've been in the chair for about 20 minutes. My hands have not been touched. Side note: Come here with your fingers bare if you want to save some time. I will start off by saying that i have heard good things about this salon. However, we did not have a good experience. My 17 year old daughter went in to get her roots done & her blonde highlights not to be so "yellow". She was asked if "Ash" would be what she was looking for & she said she just needs the yellow to be toned down. My daughter did not realize what color ash was. The hair stylist did not have any samples of hair color or pictures to show her( my salon I use has specific strands of hair with the different colors). Now I will say, I should have just gone with her so I could be a part of this & explained it to her that Ash would not be a color she would like.. Its far to dark. My daughter's hair turned out brown. We had to go to someone else that has to strip her hair & put in new color before a pageant the very next day. I know have over $400 in this. I'm sure her hair will be very unhealthy after all of this as well. I called & spoke with the owner & requested for her to give us some of our money back ( obviously I was happy to pay for the haircut & I would even be willing to pay for some but not the full $150.) They refused. She was very professional but made several little snarky comments such as " I would assume your daughter would know what ash is... it's obvious she gets her hair done often" & " I'm sorry you chose somewhere that you have never been before instead of going to your normal salon". So what I'm trying to say is that you need to be very clear on what you want & don't send your daughter on her own!! read more

I've been to Serene several times and have never felt the need to write a review, but yesterday my experience was not good at all. I went in for a mani/pedi/lip wax. The pedi/lip wax was just fine, that is why I gave it 2 stars. While I was getting a pedi, another lady was working on my nails at the exact same time. It was not relaxing at all. I couldn't even turn on the massage chair due to her working on me at the same time. She seemed to be in a hurry. She nicked 6/10 cuticles that bled at the time, and are very sore the day after. I will think twice before going back. Very disappointed, because I did not get to relax at all, and enjoy being pampered. I was being tortured instead. read more

I'd give this place a 3 at best. Came here to get my nails done before wedding. Did not get what I asked for. They wouldn't do white tips on my toes because I had broken a nail earlier in the week, but it was still plenty long enough for a white tip. I asked for pink and white gel manicure. They told me no because it's to hard to maintain. Now a week and half later my nails (regular acrylic) are orange. I've has my nails professionally done for years and my nails have NEVER turned orange. I do not smoke or use tanning bed. I will not go here again. Also they told me they charge $40 for a gel top coat. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

My overall experience was average the first 2 times I visited. The owners are very abrasive and do not hire enough nail techs to handle the busy spa. There is a very sweet tech there that tries to make up in friendliness what the owners lack. My most recent visit ended in the owner asking what did I need, and then proceeding to tell me to come back in an hour. I understand walk ins might have to wait, but at least treat potential clients with respect. They need a course on etiquette. read more

This is the first nail spa I have been to where I have truly enjoyed my visit. I've horrible ones...from judging comments to bleeding from cutting my dead skin/cuticles. I didn't get them often for that very fact. Until now. Everyone is so friendly and nice! I got the spa pedi, which included a sugar scrub that was amazing. :) The place is very clean. What I loved is they use disposable liners in the pedi tubs along with cleaning the tubs after every use. I will definitely get pedicures more often and go here! read more

Went for the first time today for a gel polish manicure. David did a great job, and the lady that did my eyebrows was also great. Very clean and everything is new! Excited to have this new place! They also have a VIP/frequent customer card that after five visits you get $5 off I think. I liked it and I'll be back. Me and a friend went in to get our nails done and we were told it would only be a 30 minute wait, it took a little bit Over an hour for us to get seated...it was a little busy though, so I get it will take a little longer. When we first walked in we were greeted by the sweetest lady who was prepared to help us in any way that she could, she even offered us something to drink...I can not say that for the rest of the staff. After sitting for an hour, we were told to go sit at the stations and we would be helped soon. We had 1 person come over to help but then as soon as someone else walked in she left and started doing her nails...after 2 minutes of her walking in. When we asked how much longer because we had somewhere to be in an hour. We kind of angrily told that they can't just know how long it was going to take, keep in mind that we hadn't made a fuss about waiting we just had somewhere to be. So we waited another 10 minutes and finally had people come do our nails. I can't speak for my friend but I am not so happy with my gel nails, she asked if I wanted my nails shorter, I replied "No" and she proceeded to file them shorter. My finger also started bleeding a little bit because I have a cut on it but that didn't seem to phase her at all, she just kept going. Without making this too long, it's seemed that the regulars are the most important and they don't really care about outsiders and i understand regulars are the ones who make you money but if you aren't as nice to new people as you are to your regulars then you won't have any new business and you loose money. read more

After using a salon in Hoover for many years, I decided to try the one across the street from my home in Helena! I'm so glad I did!! And the pedicure & gel nails look amazing! I wasn't sure anyone could help my poor hands & feet after waiting so long , due to illness. I was almost embarrassed to walk in! The staff made me feel so comfortable & were all so friendly!
