I recently went for a beauty class and my makeup artist was Shamiah( i think. Please don't kill me, I forgot the name) but she was great. I learned alot about skin care a little tips about makeup application. I actually had and awesome experience. I wanted to do it for a while and finally got it done. I don't like to feel pressure into anything and she did not make me feel like I had to buy the products if I didn't want it but she made me good recommendations. Went to Sephora at the Westchester Mall with a small list of fragrances and beauty makeup to pick up for a birthday gift and I didn't screw up which is easy as I handed the list to the lady employee and she did the rest . Plenty different types of beauty supplies with plenty of fragrances available with many in sample form if you are not sure 100 percent . Good place to come for gift shopping or if you want to pamper yourself with makeup and nice smelling fragrances. 4 stars on my yelp meter and I smell nice and sweet . read more

In the distinct past, I found the employees to be helpful and sort of friendly but my last visit they were the opposite. Rude, not friendly and mouthed off to a customer. They don't hire the right people for the job anymore. Seems to be happening not only at this location but every location within hour north and east. My review is based on customer service. I really don't appreciate it when employees treat me like I'm going to steal something. I've going to this Sephora for more than 6 years. I have always been VIB-ROUGE every year, for instance I have VIV-ROUGE until the end of 2019 of next year. I've purchased at times up to $700+ worth in items. I expect to be treated with respect. I've notice this person is new, but she had the nerve to go near where I was searching for an Item on the search computer near the skin care and she went near me and said on her microphone thing I want everyone be with open eyes in your section. She turned and looked at me, but she kept popping up everywhere I was, like spying on me, wtf, I don't need this. She was also rude to my two girls, my girls go buy stuff for me at times, sometimes I don't want to go in parking lot so I drop them off and stay parked outside(I have a 1 year old, so I rather stay with baby) and pick them up as soon as they call me that they are done.This was the second visit I had that same week, I shop at times as many as 3-4 times a week If I feel like going, or something new or a exchange, and of course end up buying lots more each time. Last time she did same thing, and this two times were the only two times I've seen her there, she's new, believe me I know when they're new. She did it last time too, and had both times the nerve show up at the register when I was going to pay and both times looked at register and look or waited for total and saw me paying and then she would leave. What is her mf problem? I don't want to make it so obvious, but I will get her name, this is very insulting to me and it makes me not want to go back, but I want to see items in person sometimes, I do order a lot on line too, but come on. Employees have a job thanks to the money we spend, at least be nice and don't if they don't like me, just stay away from me. I need no help, I know what I want and need, If I need help, I'll know whom to ask for it, not you or course. The people that have been working at this Sephora for a long time which are not many, know me, they know how much I buy and they know my girls. If only she would ask, maybe than she'll stop following me and spying on me, and putting her attitude on me and my girls. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!!! To top it off, this is the second employee that does this, also the other one was also new, she did it twice, and on the second time I did asked her for name, the funny thing, was that she began being nice to me and all smiles and what not, the next time I went in. The staff at this location made me feel unwelcomed after waiting about 25 minutes to be helped. Granted these places get busy and crowded but I asked a woman who identified herself as the manager several times. She directed the employees who help others who walked in after me. I was very impressed by this Sephora location during the COVID era. They only let a few customers inside the store at one time, and there are six ft markers outside of the store before entering. At the cash wrap, the cashier sanitizes the credit card machine after each customer, AND they spray your bags with sanitizer before giving them to you. This was the best COVID shopping experience I've had since the beginning of the pandemic. read more

On my birthday, I booked an appointment to get my makeup done for the first time at Sephora. I was not sure what to expect and I was a bit nervous. Prior to getting my makeup done, I was under the impression no one would know how to do my makeup good. The makeup makeover is complimentary with a $50 purchase of products. I was extremely happy with the results of my makeup that was done by Sephora staff Danielle! I showed her a picture of how I wanted my makeup and she exceeded my expectations. HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!! This Sephora has the worst staff ever! I've been in there twice and both times I was treated like crap. The first time I wanted some concealer to cover up the redness on my cheeks. The girl at the entrance had to go twice to the color specialist (who needed make-up advice) to help me... since she wouldn't pay me any mind. When she finally did approach me she was so rude. I told her I wanted something light like a powder and she put this cake icing type substance on me. Then when I asked to try a particular product (Bare Minerals) she told me it was expensive... when I showed her that i had the money for it she still refused to help me with choosing a color for my skin tone and then she left me standing there. Needless to say I went to an actual Bare Minerals store and complained about her and this store. Now the second time I went there I was buying cologne. Everything was going well until I went to pay. I went up to the register and this prissy man told me to get back on the line because he wasn't ringing people up right now. Then I went to a lady who when I said I was paying with my debit card practically flung that card swipe machine at me. Yeah I don't think I'll go to this Sephora ever again. read more

I'd like to begin by saying that Sephora is sneaky. You know those little trays they have, displaying random products by the cash register? The impulse buys. Yeah, pay attention to the prices, because I bought a chapstick a few years back, never realizing it was 22-freaking-bucks. It was good chapstick that I still use, so I guess it wasn't a bad investment, but dang. You wouldn't expect them to include items that pricey! Well expect it; they do include items that pricey. Ok so the store: big. Bigger than the one I used to randomly visit in Manhattan. Smaller than some of the others in Manhattan. Staff is nice and don't harass you. Makeup artists aren't the greatest (nothing like Mac), and some of the products sold here are complete garbage. This, however, doesn't really matter because they have a lot of great products in stock, too. You just have to keep an eye out and use your membership points when you save up enough to try out the samples they offer. Fresh has its own shelf. I've sampled their hand products, and they were meh. The chapstick is seriously a miracle. It's the ONLY one I've ever used that leaves my lips soft and silky. I love the colors they have, and frequently use Passion. It goes on dark, but over the course of the day, it slowly fades away and leaves my lips pinkish. And they still stay moisturized. Bumble & Bumble is in stock here too, which makes both my mom and I happy because we use some of their products. Hairspray is amazing, anti-frizz gel, a few others I can't remember the name of, and my newest obsession: the surf spray. Same prices as my salon, but hey, I buy it here because I get reward points. Free samples, baby! I'd suggest avoiding their acne line. I don't even know how many products I've tried from there, and they don't work. Save that money you'd waste here and go visit a good dermatologist if you're not seeing one, already. Keep an eye on some of the eye shadows. One actually agitated both my eyes and the skin on my eyelid. For those of you with acne-prone and sensitive skin... well, I'd say pay more and shop at places like Mac. Never broke out or had issues with their foundations or eye makeup. read more

Just shop online the in- store experience is horrible, I was just made to feel like a kid in trouble, I was being helped by a rep in the store I tilted my mask a bit so that I could speak and another rep came behind me to ask me to pull my mask up then threatened to ask me to leave the store, the approach was completely uncalled for as the rep that was helping me could have asked me but this particular rep interrupted me being serviced as if I had not been covered at all, completely annoyed I just walked out of the store and didn't purchase anything, I was actually there to get a new fragrance buy one of my favs and pick up my VIP birthday gift sadly I couldn't, just irritated and annoyed by the occurrence. I reported to the mgr, hopefully the rep would be told to one mind her business as I was being helped by another rep nowhere near her to feel threatened, it was a complete over step of boundary just plain stupid. read more

It's always crowded in here. Even when there's only five other people in the store it's loaded with workers who aren't actually in a rush to help. I also feel like things get moved around in here all the time. So I'm usually hunting for whatever I need. For whatever reason the male sales associates or whatever they're called are way more helpful. This is a pretty big Sephora though, bottom level of my favorite mall. A little disorganized. I tend to find I don't get accurate answers to any questions any time I'm in there. Yes, the impulse buys are amazing too. If it doesn't have a price listed, don't get it. It's fun in here though, just be prepared to navigate on your own and be on the hunt for things for a while. read more

I don't have a problem except when I'm trying some lipstick on and these make-up artists keep passing by when they're not busy by like counting sheep or something and looking back and forth. I always end up buying lipstick at MAC though, its a few doors down, haha, cheaper. I love Sephora! Free cosmetics to try on. My favorite product, which I finally bought after so many doubtful decisions, was the BENEFIT perfume "Maybe Baby". I like the smell of their new collection, Sophia, Grace, etc. My fave lipstick to try on there was Cin Cin by BITE? Those Yves Saint Laurent mascaras are the bomb, and speaking of the bomb, I like to splash my arm sleeves with Lotus Flower Bomb, damn I hate that nosy person who always guards the perfume area. LOL. I received a STILA color palette as a gift worth 40bucks and returned it, they gave me gift card then I used it to buy a Benefit product, love Benefit. So far so good, I don't see why people are saying they are understaffed, when mostly I see them busy asking if people needed help or sometimes when no people around, they gather around and some gay employee starts to do someone's makeup, dunno. We all say "NO THANK YOU" to associates who asks if we need help don't we? Oh come on, you do right. We do need help when we're too lazy to find something, right. read more

I needed to find a substitute for my Clarins loose face powder that I've been using for 20 years. Nordstrom was all out & I was panicked. Debbie helped me out, she was great. Extremely helpful & professional. Showed me how to apply a new concealer with a brush. I'll definitely call ahead to find out if she's working before I go. I felt kinda crappy when I walked in the door, hiding under my baseball cap and all. I definitely left, feeling like a new person. Oh...and Debbie whispered her age to me. I went to Sephora on a whim today with my bestie (see was looking for some new skincare products.) While I was browsing the store I noticed the "new" BareMinerals Ready Foundation, which I recently saw on QVC. I have never used anything from BareMinerals before so I didn't even know where to begin with my shade, not to mention there are like 15 to choose from. I asked if someone could match me and was told to wait a few minutes for a Color Expert. Nichole J was my consultant. She took her time to explain the BareMinerals line to me. She then took several colors of the Ready Foundation to her station and showed me how to properly make my skin to the color. Next she explained and demonstrated the proper application of the product to one side of my face. She buffed the product into my skin as a foundation and also showed my how it could be used as a concealer as well. She then talked me through applying the product to the other side of my face. She gave me pointers on how to apply and the proper brushes to use with the product. She also told me the proper color blush to apply to counteract my rosacea and also gave me some pointers in colors for my lips and how to mix and match products. I did not feel rushed or pressured in any way. I ended up purchasing the bareMinerals Customizable Get Started Kit, which included all of the brushes needed to apply foundation and conceal, as well as some additional products I will try out. I am very happy with my experience at this Sephora location and truly appreciate the time Nicole J took to make sure I understood and was happy with the product. read more

This Sephora is larger than the Sephora in Ridgehill. As far as I know these are the only two Sephora's in Westchester. I prefer going to the Sephora in The Westchester not only because it's larger but it also has a better selection of items that both stores carry. They also tend to put new items on display quicker. They also carry more brands. For example you'll find the complete Natasha Denona line on display here which you won't find in Ridgehill. read more

I hate coming here but it's the only sephora around me. The staff is hit or miss. Sometimes they're very sweet and helpful but it usually takes forever to get the help I need, and they can also be very condescending. I get that it's a business but they're very pushy with products I insist I don't need/ already have and it makes me uncomfortable. I rather make the trip to an Ulta or Sephora that's farther away sometimes cause I can't be bothered with their bad attitudes. I went in there to kill time with my girlfriend since we were near the area for dinner. I figured I ask for some skin care recommendation since I constantly struggle with severe dry skin due to my lupus condition. Pablo who worked in the skin care section took his time to pair me up with many products to fit my needs as well as instructions on how to use each product. After introducing me to the few products, he setup samples for me to use at home. I highly recommend going to Pablo if anyone ever needed advice or looking for product on skincare. He was not only kind but was excellent when it came to customer service. For once I didn't feel rushed in a store or as if I'm bothering any one from asking questions about the products. I asked my husband to go to my local Sephora in the Westchester Mall and pick up a new bottle of my Make Up Forever foundation. He showed the cashier my email for the free summer hair sampler set you received in store or online with a $35 purchase. The cashier told him they discontinued my foundation but she could order it for him. He did believing he would still get the free sampler. She placed the order and he asked about the free items. The cashier said he didn't qualify for the set since it was an in store order. The cashier should have pointed this out to my husband prior to purchase instead of deceiving him. The status of the order shows it still has not been shipped. I could have placed the order online myself and received all the items I was entitled as well as faster shipping. This was incredibly unkind and unprofessional. Several days after posting this review and no sign of the make up. I complained to customer service who said you opted for regular shipping and that I might have the product by July 8. July 8? My husband wasn't told about any shipping options at all. When I asked about the free items I was entitled to they said they couldn't do anything about that but would add 100 points to my Sephora beauty account. This would have given me a full size sample. Big deal but I'll take it. Days later no 100 points. They couldn't even do that for me. Just awful. read more

Anne asked about my skin and concerns and offered wonderful advise.. She was extremely knowledgeable and understood all my skin concerns. She offered me a sample and told me to try it just to make sure I am pleased with the results.... I thanked her for the sample and all of her expertise and knowledge..... Whenever I am in need of a custom makeover, JAY is the makeup artist to go to. I request him every time; he is amazing at what he does. I've never received so many compliments and felt more beautiful than when Jay has done my makeup. He knows all of the latest products and trends. Most importantly, he is extremely professional and he listens. As a Rouge member, I'm entitled to free makeovers, but there are always amazing products that are must-haves. There's no need to wait on a line; you can pay for products while sitting at the makeup station. I'm always satisfied when I visit Sephora at the Westchester. :) read more

Before I begin this review, I want to say that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Sephora. My friend and I have visited locations at East 42nd Street (NY), Fifth Ave (NY), Yonkers (NY), Bronx (NY), and Stamford (CT). Every time we've gone to one of these locations, the Cast Members have always been excited to greet me and my friends as soon as we walk in through the doors unless it's extremely busy. However, my experience at the Sephora location at The Westchester Mall was positively atrocious. On February 10, 2016 at around 8:10pm, my friend and I walked into the store looking to try new primers and eye creams. We had noticed a male cast member leave before we walked in and shrugged it off thinking he was probably finished with his shift. When my friend and I walked into the store, there was no one around the entrance we walked through (Skincare, I believe). My friend went over to the make-up section and were wondering for approximately 15 minutes before my friend disappeared to look at eye creams herself. After about another five minutes, a woman came up to looking concerned and asked if I needed help with anything; I told her that I was looking to get a sample of Porefessional by Benefit and she directed me to a different cast member. This young dark-skinned female looked so bored, displeased, and unwilling to hold a conversation. After failing to spark that great conversation I usually get with Cast Members, I simply asked for the sample. I found my friend speaking to a different Cast Member in Skincare and this Cast Member was probably the only person who was pleasant and very reminiscent of the typical cast members at all the other amazing locations. However, when she was helping my friend and I and wrapping up a sample of the boscia Luminizing Black Mask, the same 5'9" light-skinned man from earlier walked around, approached the Cast Member who was helping my friend and I, whispered something, laughed, and walked away. My friend and I didn't think anything of it because we figured it was just some friendly banter. After finishing up with Skincare, I went back to make-up to check out the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer because I have a lot of friends who use it and speak highly of it. No one from this section was interested in helping my friend and I until I started poking around for a test tube in plain sight. The same man from earlier then made an abrupt appearance and asked if my friend and I needed help with anything, I asked about getting a sample of the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer and he immediately said, "You already have three samples. You can't have anymore." and walked away. I was absolutely disgusted by this man's behavior because I understand there is a limit on the samples you can take home but every store I've been to has been completely different. The fact that he was, at this point, watching my friend and I look around without EVER offering to assist us and then coming out of nowhere to tell us, with an attitude, that we weren't allowed any more was embarrassing and infuriating. I've spoken to other friends at work if they've visited this location and they all grimace and make every effort to not go to this location. The staff needs to get an attitude check and follow in the example of five other locations I've visited. read more

Worst staff ever!!! The products are like any other Sephora but the staff are laughably horrible. Part of the reason I am willing to spend much more money on cosmetics at a place like Sephora is to get knowledgeable staff that are experienced with makeup to advise me on what product to buy and how to use it for the look I want to achieve. Any time I have ever spoken to a staff member the first thing they say to me is "you have acne, here are the list of products you CAN'T use". My acne is not very bad at all but it is all they can focus on, as if they have been trained to harp on their customer's most obvious flaws to sell product. I have a dermatologist who went to medical school to advise me on how to treat my acne. Also, their advice about what products I couldn't use was ridiculous. It sounded like they heard it on a neutrogena commercial and parroted it back to me. Advice to Sephora employees: skip the pseudo medical advice. My next complaint is that they know nothing about the products in the store. The last time I was there a staff member asked me if I needed any help. When I said "yes I do" she immediately called a "color specialist". This "color specialist" was a beastly woman who looked like a one of those cartoon matronly nurses, big mean and not pretty. My question was simple: which primers in the store are matte? "This one" she said, grabbing the one I was standing next to which was full of shimmery crap. It actually said "brightening" on the bottle which is the opposite of matte. When I showed her this she was annoyed and said "well I can't think of anything we have that is matte". ???? Even the website has a list of matte primers. I always come out of this store feeling sad. From now on I will just order from the website, or go to the MAC store - where the staff are fun, creative, and knowledgeable. read more
