It's been about a year since my first experiences with this nail salon and I am going to say they have thoroughly redeemed themselves. I do not feel rushed when I come here. The technicians have always been nice, some more than others. And I haven't had any nail travesties since. I mainly come here for nail art as my normal nail salon is amazing but bare bones. Now the only reason I still can't give them 5 stars is the technicians seem to lack creativity. I have come in a few times just know a theme I want or color and have given the technician free range and am always told I need to give them a picture to copy. And then they copy it to a T. I've been a regular customer for the past couple of months and was really disappointed by how my appointment was handled today. This salon often runs late, which I've always been flexible about. Today, I called ahead to say I'd be a few minutes late and was told my appointment was canceled because they "had another customer." I was then told I could be charged half the service fee. Policies should work both ways. I understand schedules matter, but canceling a regular client who calls ahead, while the salon itself frequently runs behind, feels unfair and unprofessional. In addition, interactions with staff have often felt dismissive and unwelcoming, which made this experience the final straw. Came here for the first time last weekend for full set acrylic. I refused them doing my cuticles because the clipper was noticeably dirty and junked up. You're supposed to scrub and clean them, then sanitize. The desk I was at was also noticeably dirty as well. I would NOT recommend this place. It seemed unclean and unsanitary. There were a lot of people in there, so it was busy, so you would think they would be on-top of their cleaning regime. I told the person working on my nails I wash my hands frequently because of my job, so I needed no room for chipping or lifting--- when I got home, I had to file the corners of my acrylics!!! I could literally see my natural nail was not completely coated with the acrylic. Very annoying to have to file my own nails when I get home from a nail appointment!! And it was $70+. read more

As usual, I got a regular mani pedi using their "regular" polish. It started to chip after less than a week. Nothing in my activities had changed that week to affect the polish, so I assumed it was the polish itself. I asked the manager for a free repeat, and she refused, saying regular polish only lasts 2-3 days. Well, that's terrible. If the polish is that bad, they shouldn't use it. Or they should explain before every mani pedi that the "regular" polish is basically just good for one weekend. Not good consumer service. I won't go there again. read more

I just want to find out who rated this place as "Best Nail Spa of Westchester 2020"!!! Whoever did, has to go to ANY nail salon in the Bronx or Inwood and get their nails done there so that they can really understand what's a good mani&pedi. I really wanted to like this place as I am looking for a nail salon to become my go to place outside of the city, where I can find parking easily and won't have to wait 2 hours waiting because I can make my appointments ahead of time... I really did wanna like them but sadly the story isn't a good one. Apparently this place is either a Hit or Miss, cause I decided to come because they had mostly good reviews and those who gave a bad ones, were really bad ones, mine now included on those. First of all, I made my appointment on 04/29, when I walked in today I was 10 minutes early, which is supposed to be the right thing. A tall, blonde lady in the front welcomed us, asked us to wash our hands and pick our colors, we did in less than 3 minutes. After picking the colors nobody came to us or told us what to do next, they had us standing in a corner for about 15 minutes, then another lady guided us to two empty chairs to seat and wait for about 15 minutes more. Ok, first strike, about 30 minutes waiting, and it's not even the fact that we had to wait but nobody came to inform us we were gonna have to wait, or ask for us to be patient, nothing at all. They lack of organization, they lack of communication. Then another lady comes to me and guides me to seat on one of the pedi chairs... I made an appointment with "Sophia", Becky did my mani&pedi... nobody informed me I wasn't going to be served by Sophia or if it was ok that someone else did my nails, but I did notice the tall, blonde lady would ask some people if they were ok with having a different person doing theirs, ok, to me that was the second strike... I don't want to call her anything in particular, but I did feel she gave me a bad vibe comparing to how she was treating others while I was also there, first time that happens to me. At 2:38pm Becky starts my pedi, I have to specify, at 2:38 she put my feet in water, not like she had already done that... at 2:46pm she was ALREADY DONE with my feet and was drying them off. WHAT!?!? WHAT!??!? I was in shock, thinking to myself "WHAT IS THIS!? I COULD HAVE DONE THAT AT HOME LIKE I ALWAYS DO" but I wanted to get a professional pedi and that was NOT that. She didn't even take 10 minutes to do my feet and toes. NOT EVEN 10 MINUTES!!!! Ladies, if that's how you get your pedicures done, then we're not ready to have this conversation, cause that was THE WORST PEDICURE I HAVE HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. I'm not a pedicurist and I do better pedicures than the one I had done today, thank God I don't grow cuticles cause if that was the case, I wouldn't have paid. Becky dries my feet and starts applying base coat at 2:50pm, I have to emphasize I have TEN TOES as most of people do... I HAVE NO IDEA how by 2:54pm she was already asking me to stand up and walk to the manicures table BECAUSE SHE WAS DONE IN LESS THAN 5 MINUTES!! Again, WHAATTT!!???!!? My mani... Ughhh, my desired, beloved manicure was the WORST I have ever had, that too... Before Today I had no idea you can get a NORMAL (paying for) manicure without putting your hands IN WATER to better remove imperfections and prepare for beautiful looking nails. I had the fastest worst manicure ever done Today. I give them ONE star because Yelp doesn't let you give zero and also because Becky AT LEAST TRIED to do the design I wanted to get done, although it was not what I exactly wanted. Again, I have to emphasize I don't grow out a lot of cuticles, but because I don't, I don't expect you to just file and use some machine to buff my nails and charge me for a MANICURE. If this is how your nail tech does your manicure we can't be friends and you should NOT read this or go to her/him EVER AGAIN. Becky gave me cuts on all my left hand fingers. She also didn't remove properly the orange nail polish I had prior to painting my nails today, so I can see the orange in some corners and below the polish on my pinky left finger. I just hope the photos do A LITTLE justice of what I am trying to show because my disappointment is the BIGGEST EVER and I'm not trying to sound like a drama queen. This is DEFINITELY NOT the "2020 Best Nail Spa of Westchester", I can't really understand who did that to them and if they were EVER that good, try to hire new people and start paying attention to detail and grow a better customer service cause with me and my sister, you definitely didn't gain 2 new customers and you did earn the WORST REPUTATION EVER. Disappointed. New to the area got a list of nail salons through westchester mom groups for my nails. Decided to check this place out. Got here and was excited as it has a great vibe, lots of colors and fun music. But... My manicurest was straight up rude. My fingers went through the plastic gloves to soak off previous sns and he told me in a very stern voice to RELAX. And he thought to do it more than once, I felt like this young man was scolding a child. That set the tone, I was not having it. He also kept pulling my hand and becoming irritated as if i was doing it on purpose, maybe secure the pad you have us put our hands on so it doesnt move. Needless to say my nails and shape when i left looked amazing!!! .I was thrilled, yay I found a spot. Only to have most of my nails crack. I sent a pic to their email a day or two later and was told the top coat hadnt dried enough.... One, why are you rushing only to waste my time. Second, this was more than a top coat issue I have had sns dip for years and have never had this happen. They looked awful in a matter of days. The second one 2 fingers chipped 3 days after the manicure. I called and asked if they can fix the 2 nails. They were super helpful and got me in 20 mins after calling! Today I visited Nail Spa for the first time to get a dipped powder manicure with gel design. I decided to go with a heart/Valentine theme I saw on their Instagram. I am in love with how adorable it came out. Sue did my nails and I was surprised at what a quick yet beautiful job she did. The spa is clean and everyone is wearing masks. You wash your hands and have temp checked upon entry. They offer a variety of services and polish types. I am very happy with the way my mani turned out (see my pics!) and I will certainly be back. Will not be returning. My manicurist was aggressive, kept scolding me to relax my fingers even though they were , proceeded to yank/pull them around so hard that I was in pain at one point. He also stated in order to trim and have the shape I originally had (almond) he had to charge $5. I'm sorry, I thought nail shaping was PART of the service. I never experienced petty charges like this at any other nail salon. Also, my nails have already started peeling off. I noticed when he went to set the dip powder, the guy used regular top coat polish. This is not normal, they are supposed to do gel top coat to finish it off so that it stays longer. I have tried to return to this salon several times, always hoping to give them another chance. When I first used to go here several years ago, it was a such a great place, however, I am saddened to see many changes. When making an appointment, that is if you can get one with the tech you like, you now have to leave a credit card on file, in case of a missed appointment. I did this, but felt very uncomfortable about it. NO other salons have ever asked me for this! They have always had a problem with overbooking, as the salon is always extremely busy, but they will fit anyone in. Even when you have an appointment, sometimes you are made to wait a while, as they are overwhelmed. I feel they show favoritism to the clients they prefer. The basic pedicures are so fast, quite rough, and I have paid much less for a better one. Although the salon is very clean, this is NOT a relaxing spa, customers and techs shouting at each other across the salon, and loud music add to the noisy atmosphere. I feel when the techs talk so much to each other, the customer suffers and is not getting the undivided attention due to them. I always feel rushed and unimportant. This is a red flag for me. As soon as you enter the salon, you are "barked" at to wash your hands, which really is ridiculous because the time they get to you, you may have touched many other surfaces. As they are always so busy, often a different tech will soak off your nails. One in particular, puts the aluminum foil onto the table, and then drenches it in acetone. She then proceeds to wrap my nails in this very messy way, and the acetone splashes everywhere, and runs all over my hands, and down my arms, which causes much discomfort, as I have very sensitive skin. I have also been left by my tech and finished off by a different tech, because they had another appointment. They also do not answer messages left by email or text. I know there are better, more caring salons in the area! My advice, go elsewhere. read more

I've been coming here for manicures for the past few months. I live in the city but am a student nearby, so I decided to make an appt when I'd finally had it with overpriced, subpar manicures that somehow took three hours and chipped in days. Of all the places I've tried in my budget in Manhattan and Westchester, Nail Spa is the all-around best. It's fast, it's affordable, and my nails always look really good when I leave. My job is very hands-on and, until I started coming to Nail Spa, my nails would be totally wrecked within two weeks of a manicure. My nails don't chip at all between appointments here, and the condition of my natural nails is so much better, even with tips. This should be a five-star review. But at my last two appointments, I was almost embarrassed after expressing my preferences during my manicures. I debated writing this review bc I want to come back here and not have an awkward experience, but honestly, it already has been. Anyone who is making appointments weeks out for manicures cares about how their nails look, and as far as I can tell, virtually no one here is a walk-in. So it kind of baffles me that some of the employees here are offended when you ask them to tweak the shape, help you pick a color, etc. These are totally reasonable requests. They don't warrant a defensive reaction that draws the attention of people nearby. There's more good than bad here and I'll keep coming back, but I really hope my future appointments are a little less tense. read more

This is about the manager Ling who is very rude towards customers she doesn't care for. Once you have your nails done and come back to get a nail repair she has a problem. She will speak in her native language and show that she is displeased with you. With the cliente that comes in is a mixture and she is pleasant to some but not to all and says a lot about her. it doesn't matter how stress out she is a business should always be ran with great customer service. Probably won't be returning. I have been going to this nail salon fairly consistently for over a year. The atmosphere is nice, they usually do a good job (I get SNS), and it's close to my house and the highway if I need to run errands afterwards. May not seem like much but those details are important to me. Similar to other reviewers I've had experiences with rough filing, drilling, having a weak pedicure; but for the details I mentioned above I would suck it up and go back every time. But today took the cake. I called the schedule an appointment short notice. I told the lady on the phone if she didn't have availability today it was fine. She said come. I went in. I was seen a little after my appointment time to which they did apologize for the delay and I said it was okay. Someone seats me, proceeds to drill down my nails, wrap them in foil to soak them off, then places a hot towel on my hands and walks away. (I did pick the color I wanted and the same lady never grabbed the container with my color choice) I waited for over 20 minutes for someone, anyone to tend to me and continue with the process. I got no explanation for why I had to wait and most importantly no acknowledgement while I was waiting either. Now I'm a very passive person and I don't like to cause scenes so I don't always speak up. Today I'll admit I should have expressed how I felt to someone who worked there. It was like they thought I had nothing better to do than to wait there and that wasn't fair. I should have at least been told why I had to wait. Especially when while a gentleman who works there was finally tending to me, a lady walks in and the receptionist gestures to him that he should help her. While he's helping me??!! He quickly told her I was only soaking off ( I decided not to stay and get my nails redone after the extended wait) and she said okay. I guess I don't matter as much as that lady who just walked in. All I want from this is for management to be a little considerate and acknowledging of your customers. I had the absolute worst pedicure of my life here today. Years ago I worked as a licensed Nail Technician. I did all types of Manicures and Pedicures for 10 years in 2 high end salons and had a large clientele. I can honestly say that this service was horrible. Not only was this my profession at one time but I also have been getting pedicures for 35+ YEARS!!! The manager tried to tell me that my chopped up looking heels are normal and would require multiple treatments. Hmmmm, every other place that I go seems to get them as smooth as a baby's bottom...maybe you need to own that it's not being done correctly. I paid an extra $10 for Callus remover and as you can see in the photo the Callus was not only not removed but was actually made worse. They used a cheese grater which only served to tear up the skin which she did not buff off and smooth. After the grater they did not sloth off the dead skin. I have had hundreds of pedicures over the year with Callus remover and I ALWAYS leave with smooth heels. Instead of taking ownership that they are not doing the process correctly they blamed the Callus. To add insult to injury she refused to refund the $10 for the callus remover. The cost of the regular pedicure with Callus remover was $37 which is also the most I have paid anywhere. If you are charging top dollar prices you should be providing top quality service but definitely are not. The only reason that I'm giving this place 2 stars is because the woman Lee who did my nails today was very sweet and does a great job. Aside from her I did not have a good experience with other nail techs. I was there less than 2 weeks ago and got the Powder Dip which usually lasts over 3 weeks. I used a different nail technician because Lee wasn't available and after 1 week almost all of my nails were lifted and you could literally pop the covering off of the nails. I had 2 nails completely break off. Again I showed the manager and she made excuses. When Lee did my nails they stayed perfectly, no lifting. I also have to mention that the manager proceeded to tell me how terrible it was to pick the lifted covering off of my nail...FYI...it was already separated from the nail, it is much worse to leave a lifted covering on your nail for the fact that if water gets trapped underneath the lifted covering it will likely cause a fungus which can be permanently damaging to the nail bed not to mention would need medical treatment soooo picking off the loose covering to prevent water entrapment on the nails is appropriate contrary to your dramatic reaction when I was showing you how they were just popping off with little effort. Unfortunately I will not be returning because of the ridiculous attitude of the manager who should have been apologetic and doing whatever she could to make it right. I should also mention that the manager is not a licensed technicians but seems to have tons of excuses for all of their shortcomings. Obviously the owner does not care about customers, when I asked to speak to her the manager said she isn't available to speak to customers. Look at the photo...that's not normal??!!! While I appreciate the gentle hands, I felt it wasn't as good of a pedicure as I'm used to. I had to tell him to scrub my feet again and I feel like the pedicure was rushed. Since then every time I have gone I have felt extremely rushed and have been in and out within 30 minutes for a gel manicure and regular pedicure. This time however was the worst yet. My nails were shaped so horribly and filed down so short and then after ONE day my gel manicure peeled and is ruined. It seems as though the woman did not let the lamp run long enough because the top layer has peeled off and underneath is still wet.
