This place is a make up wonderland. So many choices and so much to try on and purchase! I'll admit that the make up and the make up tools are very expensive, but definitely worth it. Each item lasts for a very long time. The brushes are very good quality and to work very well. The only negative here is that there isn't enough staff to help each customer. Each time that I've come here, there has only been one or two ladies walking around. One is usually at the register ringing up customers, and the other is helping someone. Very addicting and so much to look at and try! Staff is very friendly though! read more

Sephora is ageist. I went in to get a replacement for my concealer and foundation which are no longer made. the woman at the door asked me to wait as they were busy so I did. then she helped two people before me. right in front of me!! so I left. but not before telling her exactly why I was leaving. stupid mistake. these purchases are repeated buys. not to mention that people tend to buy extra things when they come in for the necessities. I walked right around the corner to the MAC store where they helped me right away and got what I needed. spent $378 as a matter of fact. and won't be back in Sephora again. us mature women deserve a little respect. we've earned it. read more

Please dont buy gift cards of Sephora, it is to get hacked and got your money stolen. 1st giftcard I bought from Raphls store, and right after I bought, the money in the gift card was used with 2 single transactions in two different stores far away from the place I bought. But I was the one actually hold the physical card. I contacted their giftcard department, and got issued a second gift card from this Sephora store. This store issued me a hacked gift card.Right after I used the first $27 online, the rest of my gift card balance was used in 3 different stores locations which again are far away from each others. I contacted their lost gift card again, and I was told they wouldn't issue back my money again because I contacted them twice. I dont know if they had brains or not Who could drive 5 hours to travel between 3 stores for redeem a $73 gift card. I am a Rouge member with current 3700 points, and they treated me like sht Farewell Sephora, never buy from you again. Scamming company, they could not figure to protect customers from fraud comes from their lack of security of giftcard. I have never experienced this kind of situation from other beauty retailers. Now I am afraid that all of my gift cards that I already sent out for relatives might got hacked already and no money left. read more

Located inside JCPenney, this Sephora is smaller than stand alone Sephora locations, but considering the distance to the nearest location, it is very convenient. The stock here is limited to more popular items and they may be out if you are looking for something very specific, but it's fun to look around and discover new products. I would suggest going online or to a larger store if you need a very specific item. Even though they were out of stock, I got lucky on my last visit; the associate assisting me got on the phone to have my item shipped to me for free because they were out of stock. Now that's service! If you have found an item you are not sure about, you can test and sample almost anything they sell. If you are interested in a perfume or cologne, they will give you a small test sample to take home to make sure you still like it a day or two later (have you ever bought an expensive perfume only to have it make you nauseous a few hours later?). I'm a fan! Lots of free parking because it's at the mall! P.S. Sign up for their free Beauty Insiders club (in store or online) for additional discounts! read more

I debated on my rating for a long time and settled on 4. I'd give the store itself a 2 or 3 because it's super small and every time I have come half the store's product is out. I wouldn't shop here again unless I happened to be in the mall. The rating is bumped to a 4 for the two enployees that helped me today. If I was leaving a review solely for them it would be 5 stars hands down. Katia and Summer, thanks for your help. Sales employees who aren't pushy but offer great suggestions? Amazing! They were so kind and personable I really appreciated them! read more

I would give ZERO stars on this place. The employees are RUDE! They act as if you are bothering them. No customer service at all to poor customer service. If they are so miserable here and don't want to work, they should consider going back to school to get a better high paying job so they can smile. Corporate really needs to invest in Customer Service, teaching these stuck up ignoring reps how to do their job and to give correct information and not brush off people. I realize not everyone can be as kind as me but it has taken the nice out of me with the run around I have been given. Every time I come here, it's either empty or there are more customer service reps than customers and they get upset when you ask for help. It's pretty funny with how many times I've come there to get a snobby attitude and brushed off because I'll come in my regular plain clothes and no make up and they have no idea I spend and make more than they make in a day's work. I always come in with a smile, saying hello to everyone to be ignored. When I am trying to color match myself because all of them say that they are busy they get more irritated. They are always too busy taking to each other. Last month I went in to purchase a $55 Marc Jacobs foundation. The manager insisted on getting it for me. I guess I wasn't dressed too par. I told her I needed number 29. I got home and was excited to open it to see that it was a used open bottle that was all over inside the box. The very next morning I go in, trying not to be upset with my Louis Vuitton bag. Funny, suddenly they are a bit more helpful but still not much as they went to get me the replacement and as I go home, a week later when I am ready to take it to Vegas, I find that they gave me #26 instead. I am a busy woman, mother and Supervisor. I don't have time to play these games with this store. I went back a week later for the girl to give me the run around and tell me that she can't exchange it and that she insist that I go to a standing Sephora because they will have what I need and they can do the exchange but that she can't. So I have no time. I told her I will take another KVD powder and a beauty blender and she refuses to do the exchange. She tells me that I have to go to the Sephora inside Del Amo or to another one. I was running late so I had to leave. Another week passed before I can get to the Sephora at Manhattan Village. I give them the original receipt for them to tell Me that the Del Amo JC Penney lied and that they should have just exchanged my product there. I now have a stupid store credit that I can not use online. I have no darn time to walk in a mall. I work 6am to 6:30pm... I don't just sit on my behind and twiddle my thumbs. I absolutely hate the poor customer service at JC Penney Sephora and at Manhattan Village Sephora. I am contacting Corporate because these people need some serious training or a new job read more

Sometimes I just want to pick up an item! One item. I came here recently to pick up the same Korres lip butter I always get and they were out. I noticed that the samples here looked super dirty like too many fingers had been in them. This is a smaller version of Sephora, so they don't have everything you want. Note that their perfume stock is super small as they didn't have the new Chloe fragrance or many men's ones. Also, the last time I bought something here, it was an eyeshadow package and when I took it home - the brush was missing. When I went to get an exchange, they were out. Also, the cashier never asked me for my Sephora card so I didn't get points (but I found out later I could get them added online). Sad face all around! read more

It is difficult to buy a product you are interested in, when the testers are empty or missing! I understand they may run out but it is the employees job to ensure testers are available. I came in to get a Nars foundation in a lighter shade since I felt my previous one was a bit orange, and a setting spray. I asked one of the employee for help when she was done with her customer because the tester for the Nars shade I was looking for was missing. I waited a few minutes, after I saw she was done with her customer and asked her if she was able to get the tester and her response was " I forgot". I was also looking for the Tacha Mist and Two Faced Setting Spray. Both testers were empty. I didn't want to bother and ask for them since I already waited over 45 minutes for the previous tester. I know and understand I have to be patient but when there are three employees and only two customers it's frustrating not to be able to get the help you need. Compared to the other stores this one insnt up to par. When she brought over the tester she didn't bother to try it on my face. She just handed it to me. Yes, I can do it myself but typically they apply it and get their opinion on which color I should go with. read more

I don't think anyone here knows what CUSTOMER SERVICE is. I came in to buy the Naked Basics palette, and wasn't greeted by a single person. I actually didn't think there was anyone working besides the cashier, bc the other girls working there were playing with makeup and talking, and looked like customers. After looking around and realizing that these "customers" were actually employees, I asked if they had the Naked Basics palette in stock. One girl just glared at me, and the other one said "nope" and continued her conversation. No "I can check in the back" or "we're waiting for the new shipment" or even a "sorry, we're out", just a dirty look and a "nope" from probably two of the most useless employees I've ever had the displeasure of meeting. read more

I came to return an item I double purchased online. Girl at the counter rolled her eyes as if I had just interrupted her from the most important conversation. Got my return. Got my receipt back and girl frowned and walked away. When this Sephora first opened, the staff was good. Now it's just a bunch of MAC rejects, chatting at the counter. read more

The selection is small, but the main issue is not that. They have many workers, most helpful and sweet, especially LAURA. However, there is one person there named, Veronica is who awful. I don't know if it's a language barrier but she was very rude and disrespectful to me and when I said this to the manager, she responded by saying that they have helped me in the past, and will bring it up with her.... sure. but I believe it will be hard to teach someone like her of professional behavior and common courtesy....so I won't hold my breath. ... Like the previous reviews, this store is within JCP and it is pretty small...however, the selection is pretty awesome in the "palette and kits" department...and usually they have sale-items that the free-sranding stores don't have. TIP: Ask for LAURA or ALDO, both are knowledgable ad amazing. AVOID...her. and PS: if you are returning merchandise that were purchased from a free-standing store, all JCP Sephora will treat that return with NO receipt, even if you bring in your original receipt because they don't have the same computer system. read more

Is this the only Sephora located in the SouthBay? Well it's not horrible but it surely isn't thee best.... This location is very small but not too small. Upon my visit it was very clean and I was greeted and helped out by not one but two makeup assistants. I would recommend making a visit during the WEEKDAYS if you have any questions or want your makeup applied. During the WEEKENDS it is very crowded and busy. The MakeUp Assit. were very much older to my suprise. I would have thought Sephora employees would have some type of "nice makeup" on their own faces but from the looks of it, their makeup didn't look applied greatly. -Urban Decay -Nars -MakeupForever -Tarte Are thee best hands down brands there... too bad they dont carry Bobbi Brown. I can honestly say that I've NEVER had a good experience here.. All of the workers here are horribly trained and lazy. Every time I come here, all of the employees are standing around talking amongst themselves, not giving a care in the world about actual paying customers in the store.. I have never had a bad experience at any other Sephora location. It sucks that this locatioh is the nearest one to me... But I'd rather drive farther to a different location where employees are attentive to their customers than to deal with these "so called workers" who don't even know the simple basics to customer service. I don't know why I keep giving this store a chance, but after my last visit a couple of days ago, I know I won't be returning here again. It's such a shame that such an iconic name like Sephora is employing these types of people who I know don't live up to the usual Sephora standards. read more

It was my first time shopping at this Sephora location and my experience was terrible! They acknowledge you in such a way that it makes you feel as if you are a burden to them. Okay...let me be the first to admit that every time I walk into Sephora, it's with the mindset that I am not going to buy much - just freshen up my makeup and get the one or two items I actually need - all my impulse Sephora shopping is done online (and believe me, it adds up). But I digress... I walked in here to just see about my favorite foundation when my boyfriend suggested I try out eyebrow pencils. I literally had no idea how to do my eyebrows and I was just fumbling through it. Ian probably noticed I was drowning in my poor attempt at eyebrow shaping and asked if I wanted him to fix them. He was super nice and we talked about our favorite Disney villains (turns out we have the same favorite Disney songs - all the villain songs haha). By the time he was finished, I felt like an eyebrow expert (and the boyfriend approved (I swear he's the only guy I've ever met to care this much about eyebrows)). I ended up buying a lot more than I thought I would - Sephora, take note - your employee Ian the Magician (he made me look like a completely different person) should get a raise :) Totally okay with buying more than I thought I would, btw, should clarify - my eyebrows look sooooooo much better thanks to Ian! read more

The staff is wonderful, even though sometimes they are under staff and cannot help everyone at once which is understandable they are great. They are so helpful. They are just lovely. read more

I had a good experience at this location. The manager was knowledgeable about all of her lines and I was able to order items that were not in stock through the store. Some of the clerks don't know/don't care about what you might want but having one person there that cares changes alot. read more

Alright. I will be the first to admit that I don't know a lot about makeup. After awkwardly stumbling through the foundations at Target for a few years, I decided to invest in some quality foundation with the help of a professional. This location was the most convenient for me. I didn't even have to ask for help! A girl named Brittney immediately offered her services and she was wonderful! She answered my questions, helped me try on different colors, gave advice, etc. The line to check out was long because of the busy Sunday, but the girls at the counter were cheerful. It was my birthday recently, so they gave me a cute "birthday sampler" provided by Make-Up Forever. Things bought: Foundation by Make-Up Forever Lash Curler by Sheisido Lipstick and mascara by Make-Up Forever Also, Brittany added a sample of a lighter foundation color for my "winter skin." read more

This store is AWFUL. Firstly, they literally never have high demand items in stock. I get that the store is small, but they claim to focus on carrying the most popular items in Sephora... Too bad they never seem to actually have them in stock! They always say that they will "soon be receiving a shipment" on items, but after checking in pretty consistently for 2 weeks in hopes of getting a certain eyeliner, it seems clear that they don't receive items as quickly as a regular Sephora. But what really seals the deal is how useless the workers are. There are about 10 people in one store, but they all stand around and gossip with each other. Seriously, unlike regular Sephoras where people are constantly working the floor, these ladies and gentleman seem seriously bothered when a customer asks a question. Coming from a girl who works retail, the service in this subpar store is ridiculous. read more

This store is VERY busy! Whether you are shopping on a Tuesday morning or a Saturday afternoon- every representative is with a customer. I recently was invited to the Benefit make up event and I was very excited to get a mini make over and some personal recommendations. I have only returned one item and the process was very easy and hassle- free. I was given cash and no questions were asked. I do wish they had more product as I have seen the shelf bare in some areas. I wish they had more brush selections, too. I like that this store is in the mall, and it is close to my house- but for selection and variety in price I prefer Ulta. read more

Workers here are always very rude! Every single time I come here I never get a "hello" or "can I help you". When you do need help and approach the sale associates they act as if you are bothering them!!!! Can't believe Sephora would hire these girls with RUDE STUCK UP attitudes. I'd much rather go to other locations but this one seems to be more stocked up on items than other Sephoras, probably cause no one wants to shop with these horrible ass excuse of workers rolling their eyes at you every chance they get. Cashier is the worst! Extremely rude and unhelpful These girls need SERIOUS training!! I will be contacting corporate read more

I have to say i was nervous coming in this place with no make up especially with all the beautifully done employees but I'm glad I did! They were so quick to help me and continued to make sure I had the help I needed. The lady made sure I got the perfect shade of foundation after multiple attempts and tries with different brand. I never liked this Sephora. The employees never do anything. They just stand around talking to each other. One employee was putting something on another employee's face. I came to this sephora earlier this week. Workers were rude. Didn't even help me. How do you go from me asking which brush I should use, to just pointing and grabbing which one and then just leaving?! So I left. There's a possibility I'll buy here again, but we'll see. Maybe its just this location or the workers working at that time. But whatever it is I hope it doesn't happen again when I decide to give this location a second Chance. I love going to Sephora but this location can be such a hassle. Durning my last visit I was looking for something in particular. There was a sales associate next to me. And she didn't bother to ask me if I needed help. I literally was squatting down pulling out product to see if I could find what I was looking for. After about 20 mins of being frustrated. I got up and looked for someone to help me. When I asked if they had that product in stock the girl just said "No" and walked away. I myself got on my phone and looked up another location. Rude! And unhelpful! Thanks for nothing. Not even saying hello. I will just go around the corner to Macy's. Bye.

Important things to know about this Sephora!: If you buy a gift card in the Sephora's in J.C. Penney you (or the person you're buying it for) can only spend it within the Sephora's in J.C. Penney. (Which is sort of a bummer if you like spending it online. But they have a good selection within the JCP Sephora.) Also, if you ask at the counter they can make a sample of any item within the store for you. The staff in here is pretty helpful at finding whatever you need as long as it's in the store. Although, sometimes I go in there and some of the staff have makeup on that is similar to a clown's. Usually, I just stay away from them and look for what I need on my own. If I do need any assistance I like to go to the guy that works there. Sadly, I can't give you guys his name because I don't know it. He has really long black hair. Sometimes he has makeup on and he looks great in it! If he's there I just go to him for assistance and I suggest you all do the same. He really seems to know what he's talking about. Space is limited within this Sephora (So here is list of the brands that I can remember that are in the store.) - Sephora (They usually have the special kits they have on sale online.) - Urban Decay - Nars - Bare Escentuals - Too Faced - Benefit - Stila - O.P.I - Make Up Forever - Small fragrance section That's all I can remember for right now. The sections of each brand aren't extensive but there is a good chance you can find what you need. They also usually have the special combination kits they have online in-store. read more
