My second visit to Signature Med Spa. Super clean and peaceful when you're in the treatment room…read more Esthetician is knowledgeable and helpful. Received a complimentary face made because one of their devices was not functioning properly for my facial treatment. Gave me some helpful recommendations to check out for my skin type

Really taken aback by my experience with this provider for what I was seeking which was a beauty…read moretreatment. I bought a microdermabrasion facial on Groupon thinking that I might find a cool new place as my previous facialist had moved out of town. Booking my appointment was easy but the first time was cancelled by the office due to an ill facialist. Illness happens, okay, no worries. The second (rescheduled) visit though, was dismal. Minus Star - First of all, this is NOT a spa. This is a doctor waiting room playing spa muzak. Was horrified that I didn't know this and left my mask in my car. While they did provide me one, no-one at reception was wearing hers of the three visible staff. When one goes for treatment, there are folks chatting in the area just outside the treatment room door. Not relaxing. Minus Star - Second of all, the waiting room was packed. I overheard two ladies complaining to each other that they had been waiting for over an hour. The receptionist told me there wasn't a room yet available. After 25 minutes of waiting I told her I couldn't wait anymore. Ended up being treated within 2 minutes. That made my departure 90 minimum after arrival. Minus Star - The treatment room was not comfortable. I mentioned this to Myra my facialist and she said it was cold but didn't ask if I wanted another blanket or anything else that could make me comfortable. I had to ask for a bolster for under my knees, but what she ended up bringing me was a small pillow, like you'd have on the sofa. Minus a half Star - There were many positives about the facial but big ugh was bright light in my eyes whole time with no eye covering. While there were redeeming qualities about the facial, this was endemic to what felt like a lack of personal attention to the comfort of the client. Minus a half Star - the bathroom in the doctors office was not functioning. If you want to use the restroom, you have to go down the hall. Would have been nice to know this before my treatment.... Again, this is part of the lack of holistic attention to the client. The facial its self was fine. She did a good job getting my skin clean and the oxygen did keep it from running. However, the sunscreen or whatever topical cream she applied before I left made my skin sticky. Came back for my 2nd facial and it was a worse experience. Not as long a wait but aesthetician did not even introduce herself, never told me what she was doing as she was doing it and then when she finished, I asked her where was the oxygen and she said they weren't doing that anymore. What?! TL/dr: Not a spa experience but a okay facial.

This Aritaum is located in a small corner inside H Mart. I was specifically looking for an Aritaum…read morebecause the one near my friend's house in Koreatown has since closed, and I always had pleasant experiences there. I was genuinely excited to find one closer to me. When we arrived, I already knew which foundation I was looking for and just needed help finding my shade. We were greeted by the cashier, a middle-aged Asian woman, who was friendly at first and helped me search for my shade. She also mentioned that some items were on sale for their Black Friday event, so we were excited to continue shopping. My friend picked out a couple of lipsticks and went to the register first. When she handed them over, the cashier sternly said, "No sale on these items!" The tone was very off-putting. I immediately looked up, and my friend calmly replied, "Yeah, I know." The interaction felt extremely odd, especially considering how kind the cashier had been to me just moments before. I ultimately decided to skip the foundation and purchased a Laneige makeup serum instead. The cashier rang me up, and that was the end of our interaction. I understand that Aritaum locations are independently owned, and I know every store is different. However, my experience at the previous location was consistently great. I was often given many samples, which encouraged me to try new products and led to multiple purchases over time. At this location, I wasn't given any samples, which I understand--but that's not the main issue. The reason for my two-star review is what happened as we were leaving. My friend said, "That was the most racist experience I've had in a long time. I honestly think she was mean to me because of my skin complexion." When a salesperson clearly favors one customer and treats another paying customer differently, it's hard to ignore the possibility that this played a role. We were both polite, we both made purchases, yet my friend was treated poorly for no apparent reason. I don't feel comfortable supporting a business that: 1. Doesn't carry foundation shades beyond lighter complexions, and 2. Treats paying or even browsing customers in this manner. I'm really disappointed, because I was hoping this would be a place I could return to.

They don't offer refunds, only exchanges. There is a $10 minimum for credit card purchases. I purchased the glow serum with niacinamide by Beauty of Joseon. They sold it for $21, which is pricier than the online price. I know it sells for $17, but that doesn't include tax and shipping. I am okay with paying for convenience sometimes. I received some Laneige samples along with my purchase, which was nice. I've only used lip moisturizers, so I'm excited to try their other products. Overall, I had a great experience shopping at this location. I know there are other locations in Los Angeles. I'll be coming back!
