New: They have a skin analysis computer on-site which gives you a microscopic image of portions of the skin on your face. Use it only if you dare!~~~ It tells you if you have normal, oily, combination, or dry skin, and it assesses your skin wrinkle factor, etc. Again, use it only if you dare! The concept was very different than the other Japanese nail salons in town. The pricing varies by how much time it take for you to do your nails yourself. The gel polish(virtually odorless) that Yuriko let you use (at the salon only) is sold to professional nail artists exclusively. She doesn't do acrylic nails so her salon doesn't have that chemical odor like other salons. She will walk you through every step of the way to help you achieve the nail design you want! When you're ready to remove your gel nails she will teach you how to remove them via "soak off" method. Yuriko is also very knowledgeable on how to care for individuals with dry brittle nails like myself. If you don't mind the commute to the salon. Enjoy doing your nails especially gel and want to decorate as much as possible for a low price too, then I definitely recommend it! Best of all no need to pay tip since you're doing your own nails. The color application was very quick and not as detailed as other services. It was pretty even and timing for since was good. Didn't see the wash basin and chair being cleaned in between clients. Gloves were not changed as often as they should of been. My Shirt collar was soaked during hair rinse and shirt was stained with hair dye. Hair dye was not fully rinsed and some was left on scalp. Salon seems short staffed and staff is always in a rush. They do the best they can with their time constraints. Staff is very nice and do the best they can. Hair color was decent but not full grey hair coverage.

I requested Hailey Bieber inspired nails -- opi bubble bath with ombre white tip & chrome ontop :) Tiffany did my mani exactly like how I wanted it esp the shape -- round ! My nails was soo pretty . Most nail salons I went to in Bay Area can never get the nail shape I wanted right and Tiffany was able to! She was quick too For my feet, I got the pamper me + paraffin wax. For color, I got my usual white pedicure. My feet was so cute and soft afterwards. I loved the feet scrub she used on me. I never had that type of scrub in Bay Area before . Upon walking in, no one greeted me lol. There was a woman who saw me but she just looked at me and walked away. There were only three other people in the place. Then someone who was working saw me, greeted me, and told the rude lady that she would be working with me. During the manicure we didn't talk. She just signaled where I should put my hands. I wasn't sure about my base nail color, but she picked two out and tested it on my nail and I chose which one to go with. That was nice of her and caught me by surprise; it was the first time occurrence for me. She did the same with the glitter. I don't know how clean her tools were and that's what freaks me out at these places. The utensils didn't seem sanitary, and I didn't appreciate that she lotioned my hands and arms without changing her gloves - So all of the stuff on her gloves from her filing down my nails ended up on my skin. That grossed me out in the moment, but I soon forgot about it as I had other things to do that day. Just laying it out here. For a gel manicure, with a base color, glitter French nail, it took about 30 mins total for $45.

In addition to cuts, I have also done a balayage session with her and I am super happy with the results. What I value most about Ariel is that she wants you to be happy with your hair. After our balayage session the next day I realized that we didn't the face-framing highlights that I was looking for.
