OK my little darlings....I love to shop! Who doesn't really? But, there are things going on out there that I think folks should know about this Macy's at Del Amo. My neice happened to work for this famous department store this passed Christmas and wow! First of all let's talk the merchandise..with the exception of some very nice stuff like say Hugo Boss mens coat or...a DKNY bag from the ladies department most everything else in the entire store is no better than ANY of the same clothes you can buy in places like "The Alley" in downtown LA fresh from the newly arrived shipping containers from China and in fact..most of the time are the exact same items. From kitchenware to clothes a large percentage of the items sold at Macy's are not as "special" as advertised and are instead just the same as bought downtoan with the only difference being PRICE! Let me explain further..Macy's will purchase a contaoner full of items like womens dresses or towels and robes or whatever...and they will pay penies on the dollar for these items so, a single dress that cost $1 to say...$5 each for Macy's will hit the floors of the over 500 stores worldwide with a hope to get say..$25 a dress so, they put them on the floor for sale at $75 and then say hang a sign saying they are "On Special" and are "20% or 30% OFF" and THEN...will hang yet ANOTHER tag that says, "Get an additional 5, 10 or 20% OFF with a Macy's Card" so ultimately, you end up paying what they wanted you to and made you feel like you were getting some kind of "deal" and that Macy's is so nice making things so affordabke for people when they are just selling stuff and do not care about anything but bottom line. Now, onto how admin treats staff working there...and don't get me wrong my neice is young and so it doesn't take much to make her feel like life is harder for her than anyone else but, most of what goes on at Macy's is "normal" work attitudes and ethics like "take your breaks" and wear certain presentable clothing but, my neice said that once you are hired you are absolutely HOUNDED by the managers to get people to sign up for a Macy's Credit Card. She said they have little pump-up meetings in the mornings before opening and try to get people to get pumped-up about making sure they try and get every single customer to sign up for a card and then they visit every station and every worker and tell them again individually how important it is and to make sure to do it. She said they offer little cash bonuses of $3 and $10 when getting people to sign up and make it seem like it's a lot of money which my neice is NEVER worth the time or effort. My neice also said that they hire people for the holiday season and put the through a quick training and then send them on to the floors knowing almost nothing about anything and expect them to help people find things in the store or how much something is and don't know what to say. Lastly, my neice said that there exists on the 4th floor of the wpmens building there is a place called Last Chance and it is like an entire floor of Macy's merchandise that is set up like ROSS and is all discounted! She said she doesn't know why Macy's does not list it on their website or advertise for it or ever talk about it and a lot of people she asked said they knew it was there! So..if you do end up at Macy's for something...do yourself a favor and check out that 4th floor and at least pick up some bargaains there! read more

My daughter "borrowed" my favorite MAC lipstick, thus I was happily surprised to discover MAC in Del Amo as we were passing through. The assistant searched the color and confirmed it was discontinued, but was able to match the profile to a few colors currently offered in their line. After trying a few, we found one I adored! Although the escalator was not working. I did not give up (LOL). I was able to get to the Sunglass hut inside of your store. Sadly the transparent Gucci glasses were not on display. Andrea said that she could order them, but I declined. She then asked me to hold on, allow her to check the shipment that had arrived earlier. The first pair she picked up were the glasses.! First timer, came in with a friend to get an appointment done and the WHOLE experience was amazing. ALDO did an amazing job with me ! Not not only was my face BEATTTT when he was finished BUT he was very patient with me and had no problem explaining what he was doing and why he was doing it seeing as ya girl doesn't know how to do anything but mascara lol He made me feel comfortable and made my experience a great one ! I always have the hardest time finding foundation that is suitable for my complexion, BUT not with Jessica's help! She took her time and assisted me with finding the perfect foundation, AND concealer for my skin tone! She is well educated about make up! Explained what I was looking for and I SWEAR she made me look better than I expected! Totally not about vanity, but it's true that when you look good, you feel good. I live in Orange County but I've been to the MAC counter in Macy's at Del Amo Mall a few years ago and received great service so I returned today. I had purchased some items late night before a sale ended online but wasn't too sure of exactly what I needed or in what shade since now I'm tanned. Jessica was the associate that assisted me and she is great at her job! She listened to me describe the look I want to achieve then she went to work. She helped me find the right products in the proper shades and applied them on me so I could see if its what I was thinking of. I tried my sisters MAC compact and knew I wanted one so I went there with a gift card that I already had and my Macy's card to cover the rest. The girl working was Shelly and she was superb. I told her exactly what product I wanted and she applied for me along with tips for my aging skin, gave me a couple of samples as well as showed me how my Macy's card and rewards work. I'm not huge into makeup and don't like the way it feels on my face. She is a few years younger than me but has gorgeous natural skin and gave me excellent advise on how to achieve the same effect. I very much enjoyed our chit chat and my experience at Mac today thanks to her. Always a pleasure meeting people like her in life. I came to Macy's MAC counter to find a shade that would blend with my skin. I stated the color I had used before and the girl( African American with glasses) asked which one. I wasn't sure and she laughed in a rude manner. As a Sales associate it is her job to help me not laugh! I was so upset I left and went to the M.A.C store inside of the mall and was treated with so much respect I ended up spending over $150.
