I'm new to the area and when I walked into this particular Sephora at Del Ammo Mall I was not greeted by anyone, not even the three people who stood at the door. I went on to try to find the product that I was there to buy and was told they do not carry it at this location. She pointed me in the direction of Mauricio and he was somewhat rude, looked the product up online and said they did not carry it. That was it. I left and went on their site myself and there it was. Today, I went to the Mac store with my friend, and we were helped by Silvia. She was absolutely wonderful from the moment we walked in. Silvia was so warm, approachable, and genuinely kind it immediately made the whole experience feel welcoming. She took the time to really listen to what I was looking for and gave thoughtful recommendations, especially when it came to brushes. Not only did she suggest products that suited my needs, but made her advice feel personal and tailored. What stood out most was how patient and caring she was throughout the interaction. She didn't rush us at all and made sure we felt comfortable asking questions. It's rare to meet someone in retail who brings such a genuine, friendly energy, and Silvia really went above and beyond. I've been a customer of Nordies and this MAC store for over 20 years. II came in today to obtain assistance in identifying the proper match for foundation and powder. I waited for over 25 minutes before someone would appear at the store. When someone finally does, I explained my need, felt that I treated her with respect, yet her behavor towards me was ride, dismissive and frankly low and unprofessional. I come here to get the assistance that I need since they are the experts, instead, she was rude and tells me that I'm supposed to make the decision, spoke down to me and then became upset when I asked if I could make an appointment to see a makeup artist on a different day. She asked why I did not want to have her help me, I softly and most kindly said, to be honest, I feel spoken down too and not wanting to assist me. She said she was the counter manager and dismissed me. I came here ready to shop and leave with the positive experience I usually had in the past. Clearly this location has gone down hill, there is no regards for the customer, no talent, no experts, only rude bitter women. I was very impressed by the level of service that I received today from Jess. I didn't expect such great service like that; just general customer service, but I was surprised that she was so friendly. I was at the mall early this morning anyway, because I treated myself to a movie. Today was about taking care of me and that included a stop at my old stomping ground, MAC. I own a lot of MAC makeup and I mean, a lot, even though I rarely wear makeup...go figure. My best friend and I used to go religiously and buy so much makeup that we literally never really ran out of anything. Normally, I'd buy MAC in Nordstrom's; this was before they branched out and had their own stores, besides their Flagship store on Robertson in LA. I was very glad that it wasn't chaotic and super busy, which is what I expected. Unfortunately, I ran out of my foundation and had been squeezing as much life out of it as I could until it was completely dead. So today, I knew that I had to go in and replace it. The security guard first greeted and welcomed me when I walked in, which was a nice touch...didn't expect to be acknowledged by him. Then Jess walked over to me as I was walking in and continued with the gracious greetings and followed that up with, "Can we get a moment to admire your nails?!" Lol! I told her they were my birthday nails and we chatted for a bit about them and then she asked what brought me in. I showed her the bottle of what I needed and she proceeded to tell me that they don't make the mineralize anymore, so she tested another one on me that was very similar. I liked the light coverage, as I don't use a lot of foundation when I have it on and I also didn't want to look like a drag queen caking on too much makeup. I'm a freak about my skin, so I love very little coverage, unless it's a special occasion; then I love to look more dramatic. Some of the people that work at this location are wonderful! While others.. give out false information. I forgot what the guys name was, but he kept complimenting anything that touched my face, even when the concealer color was way off; it felt like he was just trying to make a sale. I break out easily, so I like to let make up sit on my face before I actually buy it, he informed me that it's not the make up that makes people break out ; it's dirty brushes. Yes, dirty brushes make people break out, but so does the chemicals used in make up! My daughter had an Appointment to get her Makeup done Today with Jenique for Prom. She discussed with my daughter what she would be wearing to Prom and asked for her input on how she wanted her Makeup done which I liked. The Makeup that she did turned out amazing and the eyeshadow she used really brought out my daughter's hazel eyes. It was awesome to watch the transformation as my daughter blossomed into a beautiful young Woman right before my eyes. Sometimes when you get your makeup done you never know how it will turn out because everyone has a different technique. However it was nice that Jenique stopped to ask how my daughter liked what she was doing throughout the hour and a half session. In the end both my daughter and I were extremely satisfied and we even ended up buying several MAC products so my daughter could keep up her look throughout the Night and also for future use. The worst customer service I have ever experienced! These girls are sooooo rude! Every time that I have gone there, they literally just stand there and stare at me, and don't even ask if I need help!! I was here last week to purchase a lipstick. I told myself that I wasn't going to come here anymore because of their horrible attitudes, but I ended up coming back because frankly, I'm not going to drive to Del Amo Mall when I'm already at Nordstrom, and I really needed to buy makeup cause I was going out later that night. So, I'm standing there with the lipstick in my hand. There were 5 girls working, and only 2 other customers. 5 minutes passes by. I ask one of the girls for help and she says "be right there." 10 minutes passes by. The other 4 girls are just standing there giving me dirty looks and not helping me. 15 minutes passes by. WTF? I'm not just standing there to stand there! Someone help me already. So I tell one of the girls "Am i gonna get some help or should I go elsewhere?" The girl responds "oh sorry" and walks over. "Can I help you" she says. I say, "Umm yeah, I've been standing here for 15 minutes and no one has came over to help." She doesn't comment. Then I ask her for her opinion on which lipliner would go with the lipstick I chose. She threw two pencils at me and walked away. She didn't even ask whether I wanted to try them on. So what did I do? I threw the lipstick and walked away. Three weeks before that, I was there to get my usual foundation compact. I waited 10 minutes before someone came over to help. I really liked the girls blush color, so I asked her what she has on. She says "oh, this color won't look good on you." OMG are you kidding me??? I didn't ask whether it would look good on me, I simply asked you what color you have on! How rude is that? And how do you know it won't look good on me? Did you give me a chance to try it on and judge for myself? RUDE! I am never going back to that MAC counter! I don't understand why these girls are sooooo rude? Well... Everyone knows MAC has good cosmetics. But i expected they would Hired professional people. The woman that did my makeup had a bad attitude like if they actually are doing You a favor! She used a tons of foundation and powder... she didn't even care to use a lipstick, my lips were all dry with dry foundation. But this woman looked like she just wanted to finish to be just standing there, there was a lot of help and not busy/crowded at all. I can't even tell you how Sanaa saved my butt. The morning of my brothers wedding where I was a bridesmaid, I opted to get my hair and makeup done at a salon (Blodry bar). Worse decision ever. As I'm getting my hair done, they tell me my makeup person quit two weeks prior. As a I frantically Yelp to find someone to do my makeup, I call the MAC at Nordstrom. Thankfully Sanaa was free. When I get there, I beg her to be done in 45 minutes. Not only does she get it done before my timeframe, she does an amazing job. I kept getting compliments all evening on my makeup. I usually shop at the Bobbi Brown and Smashbox counters but for some reason I decided to take a look at the MAC counter.The blonde lady that helped me was stone faced the whole time, literally showed no emotion and seemed like she was hating life. Obviously people have their off days but when I returned a week later to return something she still had the same attitude. I happened to stop in by chance and I'm and so thankful I did I was looking for a new lipstick color to go with my complexion and Kristine really helped me out found exactly the right color for me found a few colors actually :) she was super friendly and very helpful in answering a lot of my questions as a matter of fact all the girls working the mac counter were super friendly help keep my husband occupied while I was busy trying new makeup on.
