I absolutely love visiting this store. As soon as I walked in, I was shocked to see that they had a large quantity of the Sephora brush set that was sold out at several other locations. They even had several of the Fenty items that were on sale, including the skincare regiment and the unicorn lip gloss. The staff was helpful, but the WiFi is super low, so if you're planning to view your Sephora app for prior purchases, be sure to pull it up before you enter the store. After numerous experiences of getting completely ignored by their workers, I will not return. I have attempted to buy many items here and the staff are so rude and will not even try to answer my questions regarding their products. The female workers will roll their eyes or just walk off. Once I was told by the worker that she will come back and help me and then never returned after I waited for 30 minutes. There are numerous workers, but they do nothing but gossip among themselves. I have literally wasted my time every time I go into this store. I am not sure why the staff act to pretentious. Also, there are always out of stock of items. I prefer to go to another city than go here. This particular store needs to educate their employees on customer service and professionalism. read more

My daughters LOVE Sephora. I am sure over the next few years; they'll "make me broke" by shopping at Sephora stores among other stores too. Smh and lol at the same time. This specific Sephora store at City Center has the friendliest and most helpful employees. We have been to their Dublin, Pleasanton, Ka'anapali, and their stores in various Kohl's. I'm sure I'm forgetting one or two as I'm writing this review. I always feel safe having my girls shop together at Sephora while I'm at Starbucks around the corner. Most of the employees are actually nice to them. I am sure a few of them recognize my girls since they shop there quite a bit. I didn't know there's a Sephora store at this shopping center until today. We always come here to grab things to eat, and I guess I never pay attention to the individual retail stores. Anyway, I was looking for a particular perfume earlier today. I had trouble trying to locate it when one of their store attendant approached me if she could help me. Her name is Marcel. She is patient, helpful, and sweet. She even helped me remember to pick up my birthday freebies. Because of the service I received today, I will probably shop here instead of going to Stoneridge Mall from now on. The store was neat and well organized. I'm not one to leave retail reviews on Yelp, and not sure if management will see this, but I received amazing customer service by a girl named Sarah over the weekend. I came in looking for a lip balm for my super dry lips and most of the staff on the floor were with other guests. Sarah looked like she was running busy but she still stopped to ask me if I was doing ok, and helped me out real quick. She showed me 3+ options and even talked about ingredients and her preference. I used to work at a makeup store as well, so I can definitely tell she knew what she was talking about and I appreciated her genuine help! read more

Exceptional customer service! I forgot the name of the girl who had helped me extensively search for an Urban Decay seasonal palette (Wait, I think it was Felicia). She went above and beyond in trying to locate the 3 that showed were still in store, but no luck. She then looked at the nearby Sephora stores to check if they had it in stock and the one in Dublin at Persimmon Place did! She called them and asked them to place one on hold for me as I needed to do an exchange since the one that arrived in the mail arrived broken. The night I dropped in, there were quite a few customers inside and while it looked like they were well stocked in most areas, I was concentrated on the Bobbi Brown section and noticed there were only 1 remaining of each of the colors I was looking at (lol, of course I had to snag them). Store itself: Condensed store compared to others I have seen, but still has everything you may need and or want. Large selections of name brands, many great selections for anything skincare. Service: Very friendly! Many staff members greeting you at the door and are available to help. This location has some of the best customer service I've seen. I had an hour to spare so I decided to get a few things in Sephora that I needed, at least $230 worth of makeup I've been out of. I waited in line for 7 -10 min when a cashier was helping out another client trying to find and return an order or some kind of intricate customer service. No acknowledgment of I'll be with you shortly or at least acknowledge I've been standing in line... nite I'm the only one in line. Another lady comes over and says we'll be with you shortly. I guess taking inventory is more important than customer service and getting customer out in a fast manner. I will not waste my time in this store. Looking for a solution to help keep my make up fresh and last all day so I stopped in for a quick visit to Sephora. Friendly Sephora Beauty Advisor to the rescue! I asked for a few recommendations based on my needs and was given a few options. I always like to either read up on products and reviews or test out specific samples first. In this case, lucky for me I had not picked up my Sephora Birthday Gift yet. One of the options was from Laura Mercier featuring a loose translucent setting powder mini which was one of the recommendations along with a Caviar eyeshadow stick in 'strapless' mini both included in the gift. I'm so glad I tried this loose translucent setting powder...another 'holy grail' find as it gets the job done! Setting powders definitely help keep that make up in tact all day long and is a huge help in preventing that late afternoon/evening shine! read more

I've heard of bad experiences & didn't want to assume before getting a 1st hand experience. The previous reviews were ABSOLUTELY correct. It started out as a promotion for Caudalie & signing up to RSVP for a 12-6pm time frame. Since I was not clear about this event I called ahead to confirm the time frame & that it was still occurring & what the event entailed, like what the purchase requirement was to get a few Caudalie goodies & time for the Caudalie beauty consultant to advise me. The Sephora employee generically said "oh, it is up to the Caudalie consultant to decide", this response didn't answer any of my questions. I decided to be optimistic & drive there. I arrived around 2pm & inquired about the Caudalie event. I was told the beauty consultant is taking a break, so I wanted to know how long. A few minutes later, I was told an hour. I was so disappointed & could see all those wonderful gifts ready, but couldn't utilized bc the consultant was on his/her break. Very disappointed, no apology or really looking into the matter seriously. Unfortunately, as optimistic as I tried to be, this store won't be one I'll be visiting anytime soon. read more

I was doing a bit of returns for various stores and I had one item I accidentally purchased two of so I needed to return it. So I went to this Sephora for the first time to do a return. It is a much smaller Sephora as manny have stated. During COVID, they only let 3-4 people in the store and there was only 1 person at the register. So it was kind of tough to have to wait for a while just to return something. Sephora is located in the City Center at Bishop Ranch. There's a huge parking garage as well as parking in the periphery. The one thing I was a little irked about is that when I was returning and this is not in particular to this store, but to Sephora's policy is I had to get a store credit for my return. Now...I checked when I received the item in the mail vs. when I was returning and it was well within the date range, but apparently they base the # of days to return on WHEN you order versus when you receive it....yeah. That doesn't seem fair especially when it was during the time when it took forever to get the products. They really should base it on when the order is delivered. Either way, the clerk was very nice and really perky and very personable. I really appreciated it! The fact that there wasn't many people in the store also made me feel a bit safer. So overall, not too shabby! I'll only be back if I'm ever in the area! read more

A smaller footprint than most, I am excited still to have a Sephora across the street from work. It helps to pick up a quick thing in case you forgot to layer on lip stick or mascara. They are giving away a free tote this weekend with purchase ($50min) and for the first 50 shoppers today, tomorrow, and Sunday, a free play box. Kudos to the store manager who shook everyone's hand in line, the extra staff who came out for the event, and especially Sam who made great color make up recommendations for a foundation to put into a DIY cushion compact and a matte eyeshadow palette. read more

Got severe allergic reaction from eye shades that I bought for special occasion (don't use make up every day), and they don't do refunds or exchanges or store credit after 60 days. Just bought a brand new Sephora eyeshadow two weeks ago and it mysteriously started to crumble. Horribly. First a few pieces broke off, then a few days later the entire thing was pretty much a small pot of colorful crumbs. I took it to this Sephora location with the full intention of trying to fix it (using a hack I saw online involving a few drops of rubbing alcohol), or just buying a new one if it couldn't be saved. Perish the thought! The ladies in the shop were having none of it and told me to save myself the time, the effort, and the mess, by simply doing a complimentary exchange. Why that didn't occur to me as an option, I have no idea. The exchange was a breeze, and ladies in the store were all so pleasant and so helpful in helping me find what I needed. I was searching for a lip liner that was not on the sales floor. One of the sales associates knew exactly what I was looking for, and went to the back to bring me my requested item. It was the end of the night, with less than half an hour until closing time and I'm sure the last thing they wanted to do was go back in the stockroom to find an item, but that's just what they did, and I'm so appreciative. Fantastic customer service here.I'm extremely pleased with my shopping experience here and I will definitely be back. read more

I stopped in today to make a long overdue return. I bought the wrong conditioner in an online order a couple months ago. I came into the store with low expectations- I knew I could either get merchandise credit (at best) or likely just have to keep the wrong item. Apparently Sephora has changed their return policy. If you make a return within 30 days, you will get full credit back on the same form of payment. After 30 days, but up to 60 days, you can return for merchandise credit only. After 60 days, they will not be able to issue you anything back. Per my own fault, my return was over 60 days. As the associate was trying to do the return, she needed to call her manager because the system would not let her issue a merchandise card. The manager, Jasmine, came over to help and she kindly informed me of the new return policy without any frustration or blame. She was extremely sweet and understanding and genuinely wanted me to be able to purchase the right item. So, she ended up giving me credit back onto my original form of payment, which was my credit card. I have been in this particular store only a few times, but a long-time Sephora customer. This experience definitely left a lasting impression on me. Excellent customer service means everything to me and pretty much guarantees that I will be a customer for life. Jasmine is a super star manager. Every business should have someone like her! read more

So fresh, so clean! This Sephora had their grand opening last Friday. Located at the new city center bishop ranch shopping center, I'm sure there will be a lot of traffic once stores start opening up and summer hits. There's a nice play area for kids and lounge chairs to enjoy the weather right outside the store. Luckily for me, there were no usual crowds or long lines today so I was able to shop without being whacked by people's shopping bags lol. I was also able to test out products that were either brand new or very gently used, not to mention the abundance of testers and well stocked products! The employees were super friendly and welcoming and checkout was a breeze. The grand opening promo was a free shopping bag and play box with a $50 purchase. :) Highly recommend if you're in the area! read more

Shopping experience was awful. Store employee has bad attitude, judgy and unprofessional. Experience #1 I was shopping in Sephora and trying to test some lipstick. And take some pictures to show my friends and for my record to compare the swatches. The store employee told me no picture in the store and said it is illegal to take any pictures at all in their store. It is not my first time in Sephora, I see ton of people taking picture in store before and never heard of that before. Experience #2 happened on the same visit. I was trying on the Nars lip pencil. An employee walked by and told me not to try on the lip and also she told me it is a lip liner people don't try tip liner on their lips. This is how I feel that they are really unprofessional. Nars lip pencil is used as lipstick. And she stoped me to try them on and also refuse to sharpen the pencil for me. Awful customer service. read more

This sephora is so much more relaxing to visit than the one at the mall. Yes they have a little bit less things to look at but you get more attention and more one on one time with the people who work here. They are all very nice nd patient and really take the time to answer my questions. I love how friendly they are. I love that they have sections dedicated to clean brands. They were online only for awhile so I was happy to see there were lots of clean brands for me to test and were labeled clean at Sephora so I could find them easily. Staff seemed super friendly and eager to help at this location. I haven't been to my local Sephora in awhile so I can not compare the brand offerings. This location is accessible from 680 in the City Center shopping center. They are giving away Sephora Play boxes to the first 50 people during their grand opening this weekend. I will definitely be coming back to this location for my beauty needs. I even discovered a new clean brand when I was here. Keep up the good work and I'm sure this location will thrive. read more

Okay, so maybe I'm lost in the sparkle of this Sephora being brand spankin' new and being mere minutes from my office, but color me impressed City Center Sephora. I was able to stop by and the first thing I noticed was how clean, organized and well-stocked this location was. The employees were also super friendly and helpful. Many asked if I needed any help finding anything and were genuinely interested in assisting me. I was also able to get samples of skincare products I have had my eye on! The staff member who helped me also gave me intel on the products and how certain products are better for my skin type than others. Loved that! Love to learn more about skincare and it's also really comforting to know that I wasn't just another dollar sign walking through the door. Definitely will return to this location. While Sephora has great makeup I can't say the same thing about their staff. When I went to return something there were 3 girls behind the counter and even though there was no line I stood waiting for someone to acknowledge I was there for a couple minutes because they were chatting. Once called to the counter I told the girl that I wanted to return and she didn't even acknowledge or talk to me. She just kept talking to her friends as she finished my transaction. Once she was done she didn't even tell me she was done. She just handed me the receipt and I had to ask if I was good to go. So rude and so unprofessional. I've worked in retail myself and the least she could have done was talk to me as she was doing my transaction. I don't think I'll be going back to this Sephora next time. Better to go to the Dublin one just a few minutes from here. Good makeup as always, but terrible service. read more

Second visit here this summer! Both sadly bad experiences, and Sephora is my happy place too so it's even more disappointing. First time, came on a busy Saturday around 2 pm. I knew exactly what I wanted, should have been an easy in and out. After struggling with the layout for a while, I looked around for a Sephora employee to ask for help. I found two employees by the door/mirror makeup area chatting about their own lives or something else personal. When I approached the one of the employees (tall man with blonde hair...?) about where the brand was, he quickly pointed in the general direction and went back to his conversation. Hmm looks like the tea of last night is more important than customers, but I look young and wasn't wearing makeup so maybe they shouldn't pay attention to me anyways. Finally I found my brand and I saw the tester out for my product too yay!! But no boxes behind :( I feel like it's illegal to open the drawers below, so I mustered up the courage to go back to the man and asked if they had any more of the serum I wanted. A very prompt and condescending "no, we don't" was delivered and he went back to his convo. Feeling a little down, I left the store, determined to make my next trip better ! Three weeks later, I go back in again, expensive jewelry on, hair classy, makeup done. I had a gift card in one pocket and fifty in cash in the other- I was ready to spend!! Luckily 11am on a Friday meant I was one of three customers in the store, and I was greeted by a friendly worker :) I beelined to my skincare product only to see the display looking exactly as before, no boxes in sight of actual product. A little sad that restocks take so long, but no biggie. On to all the pretty makeup. Wandering on the opposite side of the store lost, I did finally find an employee in the back. Her name was Alyssa or lysso and she was sweet, maybe a little tired and bored but at least she answered my questions. The makeup display was in random order for testers, and I rearranged it so I would be testing the correct shades. Again, I'm this instance there was zero stock except one item in the deepest shade. When I asked Alyssa about more, she opened the drawer! Yay! But sadly no products I was looking for. After an awkward thank you, I left the store, this time not in the mood to visit this location again. The lack of stock is a huge issue! Maybe the employees can offer to order it online, recommend nearby locations, refer me to similar products/shades, or share their personal dupes and favorites. Unfortunately, none of these customer service basic were given to me at any visit. The whole reason for coming in person is to have their expertise, or else I'll just blindly order online. Stopped by Sephora today to pick up some goodies. The staff here was super kind and helpful, it was also great to see the store equipped with hand sanitizers. The staff will limit the number of people inside the store, so honestly with the lack of people it feels as if the whole store is for you only! There are also lines marked onto the ground outside of the store so everyone can be distanced from one another. Ironically, when I went on a Saturday it wasn't too busy and I only had to wait about 10 minutes. Because of COVID-19 measures, you aren't allowed to touch any of the testers but if you did want to check it out, a staff will come and help you. Check out is the same as normal however they do have plexiglass blocking you and the cashier. What honestly made my day was how awesome the staff were at this store. Everyone here had such good vibes which also made me feel good! :) I been to a couple of different Sephoras in the Bay but this one is now my favorite store haha. read more

Excellent customer service! Although they are not as big of a store as the one in Walnut Creek, they make up for it with great sales associates who and knowledgable and helpful. Front the front of the store, looking toward the back, it seems bigger than it actually appears. However, that is because the layout is so nicely done that it's easy to navigate the aisles and other shoppers. We were browsing the "influencers" featured picks up front and a sales associate immediately swooped in and offered if we would like to try on the shade. She then disappeared with the lipstick and her "minion" (the employee's funny words, not mine! : ) came back with the shade properly disinfected. You may miss particular products or brands if you habitually purchase them at larger Sephora locations, so call ahead to make sure they have them here. *Note: They have an excellent selection of cruelty-free and natural make-up and skin care options. read more

The store manager should train the employees better. One of her employees was able to return an item looking at processing date which was 60 days for the client. Encouraged to return the same item on the same date that was back home, I quickly went home which takes about 15 min, 30 min round trip, came to find the manager not honoring what the employee did for me and promised me. In the end I was not able to return the second item, waited for the employee and made a trip that was for naught. I am aware that the store manager who wants to be inclusive and not exclusive should train employees to not go out of their way to help the customers. This was the poorest customer service I have ever had at Sephora and store manager at that. I am sure she chewed out her employee, which makes me so sad. read more

What a pleasure she was, so nice/helpful and even went a step above and beyond by checking the backroom for the Hermes fragrance I was looking for.
