Not only is Susan an expert in skin care, but she won't oversell you on a bunch of crap you don't need. I'll never forget my first visit when I asked for something rather aggressive and she told me I needed to wait some years until my skin needed that level of treatment. I've had trouble with my skin as an adult since moving from the east coast which is very moist and humid to the very dry climate of the west coast. My skin dried out and started over producing oil to compensate, which led to very deep very large nasty and extremely painful cystic acne breakouts. Enter Susan. She started me off with mild and gentle peels that made the recurring cysts disappear and helped heal the pigmentation they left behind. I stopped seeing Susan for a while because I couldn't fit visits into my budget. The acne came back after 3-4 months. When I resumed monthly visits, in less than three months, my acne disappeared again along with all the new hyperpigmentation. This woman is a skin magician and one of the best people I've ever met since living in SoCal. Your face will thank you.

I tried Curology, a curated Korean skincare routine and many other things that claimed to get rid of acne and it worked for a very short time until the next break out and I didn't know how to get it under control. I cannot recommend their acne boot camp enough -- my skin truly transformed in the best way possible but I also learned that sooooo many of the products I was using were not acne safe and I've since taken them out of my routine. Yes -- you have to be willing to invest the money into your skin but they really do work with your budget which I love. I personally went the face reality route and did a biweekly acne facial and I was clear in 5 months but you don't have to do the facials to get clear. I also did "purge" (which they warned me about) but I saw it through and I'm so happy with my skin now. I'm in my maintenance phase but I now have a better understanding of what triggers my acne and honestly, I haven't had a bad break out since I graduated their boot camp. I will get a pimple or two but I now know how to handle them and they don't last long. I've been now going for the regular facials now that I'm clear and my skin glows so differently now. I went from just accepting that I was someone who has acne and would always have acne to having a baby smooth face and I really cannot thank the ladies at Skinbar and Mila enough!
