Visited on May 4th around 5:00PM I came in with my aunt, who has the required certificate to shop, and I was translating for her. I asked a very simple question about where to find bleach products (specifically, bleach powder for a root touch-up). The employee assisting us (an older woman wearing a moss green shirt) immediately responded with a condescending tone, questioning whether I attend cosmetology school and continuing to talk down to me when I said I don't. Apparently, asking where something is located warrants a lecture here. She went on about how "bleach is in everything," depending on the brand, which I was already aware of, but that still wasn't the question. I wasn't asking for an explanation of what bleach is; I was asking where it was. I also clearly stated that my aunt has the required certificate to shop in the store. Instead of doing the bare minimum of her job, she chose to be dismissive and make comments like "If you went to cosmetology school, you would know." That's not helpful; it's unprofessional. What made it worse is that we were the only customers in the store at the time, so really, there was absolutely no excuse for the attitude. It felt less like a misunderstanding and more like she simply didn't feel like helping. I've interacted with other (YOUNGER) employees here who were actually helpful, respectful, and capable of answering simple questions without turning it into an issue. The difference in professionalism is very noticeable. I ended up walking out without buying anything right after that encounter because I'm not going to spend my money somewhere I'm being talked down to for no reason. If this is the standard of customer interaction being allowed, that's something that needs to be addressed. Management should have no problem identifying the employee based on the date, time, and description. This kind of behavior is exactly what drives customers away. read more

You are NOT OPEN WHEN YOU SAY YOU ARE. I have to drive 20 minutes to get to this particular store. I went today alittle after one on a Sunday and you weren't open. Another stylist was waiting with me as she called four and five times. And this particular store emailed her to come pick up her product 20 minutes prior. At least put a sign in the door and let us know when you're going to be back ! Very unprofessional. read more

Still loving this place and still awesome service. I love the evolution of hair products and now I don't have to wait until the beauty show to buy amika, Olaplex etc.... Their sale aisle is the best, some good hair color tube deals mixed in there. Some good brow brands and skin care too. They don't have much of nail color brands and the last time I was here they were phasing out Caption nail polish. read more

I've never had a bad encounter at a salon centric and I've shopped at many. However, this location I will not be getting my business again. The sales associates were great and helpful. The manager, on the other hand, completely unprofessional and hardly what I would expect from a manager. When I asked to speak to the manager for assistance and approval on a transaction, her response to her employee was "it's against policy but if you wanna do it, you can do it, but that's your name on it." I've worked in retail for many many years and as a manager, that response shows immaturity, extreme lack of leadership and is enough to lose a customer PERMANENTLY. If something can't be done because it's against policy I would respect a professional response and be completely satisfied and understanding as a customer. read more

The staff here at Salon Centric are nice and super helpful. I never have an issue with this place. Sometimes there are somethings that aren't in stock but hey, not a big deal! I can work with it, just not a place to stop into for last minute work supplies... because they might not have what you need. So plan ahead. As for the other posts... "ITS FOR PROFESSIONALS ONLY!!!" Says it on the door... in bright blue with bold letters... kind of hard to miss... lmao!!! Maybe some of you should learn to read before you get mad at a store for supplying PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS TO PROFESSIONALS ONLY!! Lol read more

I'm a paying professional and the woman working the floor was so rude and held a negative tone - idk if it was bc she was pregnant but my whole experience there was awful. This is the best customer service I've gotten at a beauty supply! I go often since i work at a salon nearby. Their always so polite and go out of their way to help you anyway they can. Best part is that this location offers alot of classes and some of money you pay for the class goes towards products! I had to buy some product for my dogs next door at PetSmart and passed by this beauty shop. I went in and found some good products and had my arms full after thirty minutes. I went up to the cashier and he asked me if I was a hairstylist. I stated no. He asked me if I had a beauty license to which my answer was--no. He then states that this store is only open to those with professional licenses, to which I am standing there boiling having wasted half an hour of my life looking through products. Time is of the essence to me, so time wasted kills my joy! He then pointed out the decal (light blue) on the entrance to the store stating that this business was only open to those with licenses. I started to apologize, then stopped, realizing that I wasn't at fault. Please make this VERY IMPORTANT fact more noticeable, since you as a business, must run into this situation often, where an unsuspecting customer comes in and realizes that they are out of their element. Perhaps a huge sign? Or at least some text in red or orange? The light blue decal pointing out this important detail must get overlooked often...for who always notices all the wording posted on store fronts? Or, have you ever considered opening to the public for the products that don't need a professional license--such as nail polish and nail files and such? This would probably be more profitable and make for a better business model? In conclusion: Good products, limited business model, staff could be friendlier. read more
