I haven't made it into a Sephora in a while, I usually just order what I need online and have it shipped Last month, I did an online order with some blind buys that I haven't tried before I did a blind buy on a perfume I've never smelled before. But, I thought it was pretty safe because I read all the notes of the perfume and it was listed as -Fragrance Family: Warm & Spicy Scent Type: Warm & Sweet Gourmands I don't like floral or fresh scents. I love a good warm fragrance and ones that can be unisex even. Especially with fall coming up This perfume in particular had a fresh scent and a baby powder smell. It was not as described. Since I had surgery recently, I did go a couple days over the 30 day return rule (it says it varies by store) Stephanie took care of me and I explained the situation. We agreed it definitely is not as described and since only a couple days passed, she was able to return it for me, but only as store credit (which is totally fine. I wasn't expecting a money refund) I'm really thankful, Stephanie helped me and came through for me. This store is clean and organized They have a bunch of workers to help One of the workers could tell I wasn't feeling well and asked if I was ok and opened the door for me. As a minimal user of cosmetics, i.e. I rely on one brand of liquid eyeliner (KVD Tattoo Liner in Mad Max Brown, if you're wondering), I stepped in to replenish ahead of a work conference. The store did not have the item in stock, but the associates kindly helped me find a good substitute. I still prefer the KVD, but in a pinch the sub was what I needed. Giving three stars because unfortunately, the perfume was so prescient I nearly passed out when I came through the door! The overwhelming scent and options available are typically why I try to order online for pickup in store or ship directly. The rating is by no means a reflection of the service, which was great, but it would be helpful if the store could dial down the scent a couple notches. read more

I've gone to Sami for the 60 minute makeup session for multiple events, and I will absolutely continue to do so. She has such a special way of truly listening to your ideas and bringing them to life -- every look feels personalized and exactly what I envisioned (sometimes even better!). This Sephora is so awesome!!!!! Literally the best Sephora experience ever! Right when you walk in, you immediately get greeted and the staff here actually ask if you need help with anything!!!! They are the sweetest, friendliest, and most helpful. I LOVE this Sephora!!! I can't even remember the last time I walked into a Sephora where an employee asked if I needed help with anything. The Sephora in Manhattan Beach is the worst - by far without question!!! But here, it's so different and refreshing!!! All Sephora locations should be like this one. Everyone here is super amazing!!! This location was also well stocked. I got what I came for and the friendly and welcoming environment was just the cherry on top. Love the location. I often stop by this Sephora location every now and then during the early part of the week when it's not busy. Overall, the store is clean, well stocked and everything is easy to find. The lady that helped me at the register today 4/29/24 @ 5:50 pm was super friendly! She gave me a bunch of samples which I never get when shopping in the store. I went in on a spur of the moment, I needed a long lasting lip balm; being by the marina and in the sun. The greeter was very friendly and helpful; a very busy afternoon in the store. The cashier was too busy talking to the other cashier to greet me, ask me if I found everything okay. I was asking what the discount was for the items I was purchasing since they had a sale today. She cut me off, rang me up so I just ran my debit card. A very disappointing experience, being my 1st time in this location. I've been to this location about 5 times or so now. I've never had any issues with Employees being rude or unhelpful. Sadly, I can't say that about other locations I've visited. Today, I basically showed Jose all the items I was interested in purchasing on my phone and we went around collecting it together. He gave me suggestions on similar items. Went in looking for a men's fragrance, online it seemed they have a decent selection. However, nothing was displayed or on the floor except Tom Ford. Was looking to compare and maybe find a new product but was unable to do it. I had a small list which they helped me but again I was hoping to try new ones. I asked about the men's products but no one had an answer. The products were all behind the counter but only accessible to them which doesn't help one as a customer. Honestly, your experience will vary depending on when you come and how busy it is. I've had visits where no one greets me or asks if I need help, and other visits where I'm asked if I'm finding everything okay at least twice. On my last visit though, two workers helped me color-match foundations and they were so sweet. This is a smaller store though so I've found that sometimes they don't have the items I want in stock. For example, I wanted the Este Lauder foundation pump and the app noted it was limited stock here. Went here, and nope, it's all out. Another case: I wanted a foundation and there was only one left. Imagine if I came an hour later, it probably might've been gone. My tip: Do order pick up so you ensure that your items are ready and available for you if you know what exactly you're getting. read more

I visited this store for the first time yesterday, and was very pleasantly surprised! It's a beautiful, well-maintained store in the lovely 2nd & PCH mall, but the service was even better. Alicia (I hope I got her name right) was such a doll to me, really helping me to find the right products and colors, which I appreciate. I'm getting older, so it's nice when the young ones help me out! I read a couple of other reviews that mentioned you have to pay for parking. The first 90 minutes is free in the lot up top and on the end, but you get 2 hours free if you park in the spaces on the back side (and I always find parking there). The staff is always extremely friendly and willing to help me with anything I need - color matching, finding a smaller more well hidden brand or processing my returns if I didn't like a product I purchased. I will say that the location is very small in comparison to a lot of other nearby locations and as a result, they usually don't always have the top products in stock. I always recommend online order, pick up in store to ensure they have what you're looking for if you're going for a specific product. read more

I hardly leave the house but thought if I do let it be to Sephora. the excitement quickly disappeared when I walked in and felt the negative energy from certain employees. i felt the stares the entire time and was followed around as if I was going to steal. The employees that followed me around were constantly on their head set talking amongst each other and heard one of the employees say I'm following the "Mexicans" what a shitty thing to say. i thought should I make a scene? This place has the best customer service. I haven't seen this type of service in years. I wish I took down the names of everyone that helped. I went this morning at opening. It was three people who did so great. It was a girl with pink hair, a guy who was very social, and the cashier girl at the right of the entrance. They all went above and beyond and gave me an honest opinion that really helped Me. The products they suggested look great and I will be back when I get paid lol. They all took my concerns with genuine care and the cashier gave me options to take care of my double accounts I didn't know existed. She suggested "use this one" note and it was just so kind. Two stars are for the products and the one lady who was able to tell me where Dr. Idriss's products were. Some of the staff is absolutely clueless and super lazy. You ask them for something and instead of checking their inventory or some kind of logical thing to ensure that they are separating you from your money and adding magic to your cart, they just flatly say no, they don't have it. They know what Dr Idriss's products are and say they do not carry it at this store without checking it. They stand around talking and being absolutely clueless about the products in the store. This is for Jose and Sal that helped me out today! To start off, I was at the cashier to return something and there was this family behind me that was EXTREMELY close to me and was coughing near my face. I was uncomfortable but I was too scared to say something. Jose was my cashier and he apologized to me for being uncomfortable (it's not his fault) and then he kindly told the family to give me space and I appreciate him for that. Then we have Sal, he was so nice to come up to me to offer me some help on choosing foundations. He gave good and full details on each foundations for different benefits. He made a good point on that we "wear different outfits for different occasions" which made my choice on keeping all my foundations because of him.
