I attended a Lather product demonstration event as my first experience with this brand. First of all, this store is beautiful and conveniently located near the parking garage of the 2nd & PCH shopping center. Our Associate, Jessica, was so amazing. She explained the benefits of each product, they key ingredients, and how to use them. All of Lather's products are made without synthetic fragrance, artificial colors, parabens or sulfates. So if you have sensitive skin or are just looking for cleaner beauty products, this brand may be just right for you! Their packaging is also made with sustainable materials, and that is important to me as a beauty consumer. I also appreciate the fact that most of their products are moderately priced. You can find comparable products at Sephora or Ulta priced at $10+ more. I purchased the Ultra Light Face Lotion which is a daily moisturizer that is a non-greasy formula which quickly absorbs into your skin. The Manuka Honey Body Butter smells amazing and I wanted something ultra moisturizing for my dry legs. I started patronizing LATHER ever since Kelly was the store manager there. Kelly moved on from LATHER a couple years ago, and now Tomi is the store manager. Both have provided outstanding service and would remember me after only a couple initial visits. They were seriously that great, and so was the rest of the team in spite of the turnover rate. Like a salesperson I met in one year, I wouldn't ever see them in a different year. How they've managed to train so many employees to know the ins and outs of their entire product line, I have no idea, but no matter who's working in the store at a given time, just know that you'll always have at least one knowledgeable person to ask questions. So far, besides Kelly and Tomi, I've interacted with, in chronological order: Holly, Brielle, Hayley, Bertha, Azra, and Amaya. The first two have since left LATHER, but I don't know about the next three since, like I said, the team seems to be changing by the minute lol. On my last visit, Amaya was the salesperson who assisted me, and she was outstanding! I hadn't seen her before, so I have no inkling as to how long she's been working there, but she definitely ranks up there as a true asset to the company that believes in skincare solutions sans synthetic substances. What do I mean with this alliteration? LATHER was founded by Emilie H because she'd get headaches over using skincare products found in your traditional store like a Ralph's or a CVS. The problem with these products is they contain artificial chemicals that, in spite of the relevant regulatory agencies' seal of approval, are actually deleterious to your skin, carcinogenic perhaps with the symptoms that Emilie was exhibiting before commencing this Pasadena-based company. What's the main takeaway here from all this jargon? LATHER's entire product line consists of nothing but natural ingredients, and that also includes color and fragrances. Be forewarned the high price tags on their shelves compared to the aforementioned traditional stores, but that is the reason. Plus, they're located in a pretty high-end shopping center called 2nd and PCH on, you guessed it, 2nd and PCH. Recently, like within the last half year, LATHER rolled out a rewards program that even their employees don't fully comprehend. But if you're a regular at LATHER and would like to join, know that you get 5 points for every dollar you spend, and you can get some bonus points too like following them on social media or completing some activities in store only. As of now, unless they incorporate some high-tech gizmos and gadgets, I can foresee the in-store points opportunities as being cumbersome to handle, especially if the shop is full of customers. Luckily, it's been mellow most of the time unless they have a special event, like a launch party where they introduce a brand new product. The points can be redeemed for certain rewards, but fair warning, you'd have to purchase something in order to claim the reward. If you get a voucher, which comes in increments of $5, you have to spend at least $15 out of pocket in order to use the voucher. For a product like a cosmetic bag, your purchase could be anything, like a simple bar of soap. Though others may disagree, I believe the best reward is the Cosmetic Embroidered Bag at 1,000 points. They also have a regular cosmetic bag and a canvas bag for 750, but I'd rather spend 250 more points for a more durable bag that can better protect your *travel-size toiletries. I've enjoyed my experience at this LATHER store. The shop is small, but don't think their product line is because they have a wide variety that can cater to varying types of skin. And like I said earlier, their associates are always happy to assist you with any questions you may have. As for the products themselves, I don't know if I can say I love them, but my skin definitely does lol. The shop located in a mall area has a fresh east on the eye look with the way they present their products. I told them what my problem areas where and I was recommended certain items and they were very informative. So much so they told me I may have been using their products in hotels and that all their items are made in the USA which is a huge plus to hear! What's great is their recycle incentive program to bring back the containers for a trial/sample product in return. Wow!! I attended a Pamper Party a while ago and had the most phenomenal experience. It was super informative and I got one-on-one consults for my skin type, my routine, and my skincare concerns. There was a hand washing station and a facial care station, and the staff did an amazing job of recommending products for my lifestyle. When I asked for a ~5 minute routine, the staff recommended the vitamin C serum and the sunscreen. The vitamin C serum feels AMAZING on your skin but I found the sunscreen to be too thick. In fact, they offer their own personal experience about their products and can offer some recommendation and how and when to apply these products. What sets this place apart from other beauty skin care product stores is that they use NATURAL ingredients while famous beauty products use chemicals that gets absorb into the bloodstream. They have a wide range of different scents of different products which ranges from body, skin, muscle cramps, wellness, and other areas. But if you are curious about any of them, they allow you to sample it by their working sink by the front cashier. It was nice to visit 2nd & PCH and learn about natural skincare products. The staff from LATHER was super friendly and know thoroughly about their products. I was happy with the DIY aromatherapy rollerball that you could customize the amount of essential oils to your liking. I ended up buying the muscle ease gel because of the great smell and its effects, especially when this product was made with natural ingredients like aloe vera, peppermint, and extracts from citrus. LATHER is located on 2nd and PCH (newest retail shopping center) right next to Alamitos Bay and Long Beach Marina (if you come here on the weekends, they also have a Farmers' Market). After parking inside Whole Foods, you can walk over, and they are sandwiched in between Tuesday's Sweet Shoppe and Warby Parker. Originally, you can drive through this PCH street, but they converted it to a walking/sitting area for patrons, which is pretty nice, safe and chilled. Parking: Whole Foods - 90 mins free. Restrooms: There's no restrooms inside LATHER, but they do have Restrooms near Guest Services/where the play area for children are. The Women's Restroom is clean, nicely ventilated, stocked and maintained. COVID-19 Safety Procedures: In Los Angeles County as of July 17, 2021, masks are required indoors (regardless if you're vaccinated or not). I haven't heard any changes to the OC County yet. For them, as long as you're vaccinated, you still have the option of continuing to wear one if you want to. (I was able to take off mines in order to smell the products before trying and buying, yay! Sabrina still wore hers). However, for those who not vaccinated, masks are still required. Hand sanitizers are available. Luckily, I was the only one in store for the first whole hour, score! She greeted me when I walked in and asked if I needed any assistance to let her know. My attention darted to the essential oils behind her and I wondered what it was for. Berthie explained that I could make custom body oils, wash, and moisturizer. I was ecstatic! It was a long time coming for me to finally experience and indulge in an activity like this. So, of course I didn't pass up the opportunity. Berthie was kind, informative, and generous with patience as we navigated to curate a particular scent I wanted. Eventually we ended up with the SAME exact scent that reminded me of my favorite skin care. She even gave me a different scent to try that was slightly altered and I really appreciated her creativity and encouragement. Her experience was like a pamper time with a friend. They also provide services such as pamper parties, will definitely host one for my friends sometime! There is a hand wash and trial station near the front counter. It's embellished with a beautiful mirror which makes the space feel open and wide. A moss wall with the brand's name above. And multiple items near the sink which you will grow obsessed over. Remember the sink station at bath and body works? Same procedure, much much better experience. You have bar soaps, scrubs, moisturizers, oils, balms, face sprays, etc to choose. I surely felt like a kid in a candy store. I was able to leave home with a customized moisturizer and a few samples. My experience with Berthie was such a rich and memorable experience at Lather! I will absolutely be coming back again to try more products. Following up with the moisturizer, it makes me so happy to have a moisturizer that does an amazing job and smells like my favorite things. I visited Lather for the first time last week. The first thing that you notice is the fantastic aroma of the store itself. It's a welcoming hug of spice, freshness, and all the good smells. It smelled so good, that I even asked the associate Holly if it was a combination of all the products or a particular scent they created for the store. She told me it was a combination of all of the products. Holly was amazing. Once I turned 40 my skin starting drying up like a raisin. Holly was able to show me some fantastic moisturizing products that were hydrating without being greasy. Hands down though my favorite product is the Cranberry orange gift set. The hand lotion smells AMAZING and it absorbs into my skin nicely without being greasy or drying. Lather is fantastic. Wonderful products and five star service. I will be back again soon! read more

I totally recognize this brand from one of my hotel stays! This is definitely in a Kimpton or boutique hotels!! I loved the Yuzu lotion and grabbed these amenities lol Lather is located at 2nd & PCH right by Warby Parker. Kelly was super helpful. They had a diffuser with lemongrass and eucalyptus and she helped me match a similar scent for a body creme! I also grabbed a yuzu sugar scrub. So exited to use them!! read more

Excited to find out a month ago that they will have a VIP sale from 7/17 to 7/25, so I got some products at a nice discount. Super cute store located at 2nd and PCH. Met store manager Kelly and she's is great! She let me samples a lot of products and explained thoroughly each item. In addition, she recommended me the Daily Defense Mineral SPF 50 facial sunscreen and I tried it on my face and I didn't break out. The sunscreen was absorbed right away and I didn't feel any sticky or oily residue. A bottle of this facial sunscreen runs $32, which is a good deal. I also purchased a 10 minute brightening mask which is to be use 1x a week. Smelled great and I see improvements on my sun spots already. I highly recommend this location as Kelly is great at selecting which skin care is right for you.! read more

I didn't even know this store existed and I'm so happy I know that it does now! I walked in thinking there would be pushy sales associates but they were far from the opposite. Holly who helped me was so nice and helpful! She let us try some items and explained items I was interested in. I asked sooo many questions and she was more than happy to help. I feel like in any other store the sales associate would have gotten annoyed with me. I ended up purchasing a few products and they have been amazing so far! I love them more than the other expensive skincare that I currently have. I have so many other products from Sephora that I need to use up so I can replace them with Lather. The products actually work really well with just a small amount and I feel like the price is so worth it compared to the other competitors out there. I love that the products are fragrance-free and for sensitive skin. I read more about their story online and highly agree with their mission statement. It makes me feel great using products from a company that is eco-conscious. They have biodegradable packaging. I feel like the texture of my skin has improved. I also love the Avocado Mint Hair Repair. It makes my super dry hair feel really soft. The Avocado Mint Foaming Scalp Scrub helps my scalp since it gets so itchy in the dry winters. Lather is located inside 2nd and Pch and parking is available in the structure for 90 min for free. After 90 min it's about $2 every 20 min or so with some max rate. So if you're planning on going here plan according to as parking may be tight at certain times. I found this place through a Yelp event. The store is well laid out and has a nice appeal when you walk in. I like that all the products are against the walls and organized by category. During my visit, I was assisted with learning and trying the body cream, essential oils. I learned that the purpose of this company is that they wanted to provide natural-made products for people with various skin types but especially for sensitive skin. All the ingredients of the items are listed in the products which allow and are made of natural ingredients without extra fluff. The staff is great here. The packaging is also nice and minimalist, with most of the packaging being compostable. After going home and trying some products, it left my skin dewy and glowing. I ended up buying a few products which was the SPF 50 mineral sunscreen and mild cleanser. I might have to get the honey mask since that was nice too. Came in on Friday and loved the ambiance. Clean, fresh, organized and smelled amazing. The employees are very knowledgeable and helpful. I love being able to test out their products! I always get the body scrub whenever I run out. It softens my skin without being too abrasive. Plus the scents smell delicious. I had an almond body scrub that smelled like dessert but I don't think they sell it anymore. If they bring it back, I will definitely purchase again! read more
