This Sephoras is my favorite one on island. The employees here are absolutely awesome, and are always very knowledgeable and helpful. But this review is specifically for Almonds, as she has given me multiple makeovers. Almonds is so attentive, it's soothing to see and experience. Her level of expertise compliments her attention to detail. She has been doing makeup since 2008 if not earlier. She has a clean editorial style, where everything is blended so clean and smooth. She aims to accentuate your specific qualities and will work with you on your goals. Everytime Almonds has done my makeup here I cannot look away from the mirror! Haha! I feel so beautiful and confident, and leave with the product recommendations she suggests. Almonds is not limited to her makeup skills, because girl she can slay that hair just as beautiful. Thanks to my puerto rican side, I have a full head of fine hair that is beyond poofy. It could be comparable to Mufasa if you really want to go there lol. She helps me pick out products that are cleaner and that work for my hair type. She's styled my hair straight, curled, slicked back and more. I cannot recommend her enough, so do yourself a favor and book a makeover with Almonds! Don't blame me if your addicted and want to go back all the time like I do!! read more

Noticed this store was coming since we saw a sign announcing so, on last year's annual Hawaii trip. Located on the street level of Waikiki Shopping Plaza (four shopping/dining levels). I just browsed quickly through the makeup (Bare Escentuals/Bare Minerals/Benefit/Stila/Smashbox), but went to the Organic section (the wall on the right, upon entering the store) to show my hubby the Pacifica line (yummy good-enough-to-eat tropical/exotic scents like Mango, Guava & Coconut with colorful packaging)- becoming a favorite body care line for me (gels, lotions, body butter, solid perfumes, and candles too). The helpful and nice (not pushy) employees wear the same thing, black lab coat uniforms, and usually wear lots of product (advertising?). Usually, in most cases, you will see that it's mostly female and on occasion, you will see a male employee. Like most stores, organized pretty well and black and white inside with matching black and white striped bags. One lady we talked to, said that they were going to start carrying The Body Shop products soon- interesting. There is a Sephora store at the Ala Moana, but this rectangle-shaped store is located in the heart of Waikiki, so it is definitely more accessible (lots of foot traffic). It seems small, but now that I think about it, it's bigger than a couple stores back home (JCP @ the Meadows Mall, Miracle Mile Shops @ PH), and has more elbow room. This store might give the MAC department of nearby Macy's a run for it's money. Unless you're a die-hard MAC fan, of course (I'm slowly switching to Bare Minerals). Don't forget to use your Beauty Insider card for all your purchases. read more

This might be my favorite Sephora because it's big and spacious, has lots of beauty experts to ask for help and has a huge selection. I went because I wanted to try a new product that I heard about but It's expensive so I went to the place I know best and the Beauty Expert was able to give me advice and when I asked about a different section she passed me on to her friend who was knowledgable in that area. Awesome! I got samples to try and I'll probably be going back soon. It's nice to try before you buy! For the HK and TKDK lovers they have both. They also have a great selection of OPI and Make-up Forever. Make-up lovers heaven. Tip: Don't forget to use your Beauty Insider card. When you add up those points you get free stuff. As most of us from Australia are aware the price of make up is crazy back home. So of course I could not visit Waikiki without my obligatory multi visits to Sephora. I won't go in and bore everyone with my bargain finds ( but there was a lot of make up i have lugged home!). I was really amazed at the high quality service in the multiple times I visited the store. The staff always acknowledged with ' Aloha' and if you enquired about any products they went out of their way to help you locate it or ask another staff member to help. They also provide advice on make up and  make up artist to apply sample mini make overs to ensure you can sample the product before purchase and all the make up artists were so friendly and professional. They even offer make up classes ( not sure of the cost). My friend also got a free make over after purchasing a lot of products. I now understand why this would be a PR dream machine by providing end to end cosmetic advice, I wish we had this level of service in Australia. read more

I was visiting Waikiki from California with my girlfriend. Every time she and I step into a Sephora we spend several hundreds of dollars.... not this time. My girlfriend had about $150 worth of stuff in her hands. In the store, I recording video and taking pictures of her with my little point and shoot camera. I didn't have a flash, or any major photography gear. I was just shooting pics ad videos for fun, personal use... A male staff member approached me very quickly and said "I'm sorry, there's no photo or video allowed in the store." And put my camera down immediately. I replied "No problem! What's the reasoning behind it?" He says back, in a snobby way, "Store policy is there's no photo or video in the store." I wasn't trying cause a stir or anything, I just asked a question. I asked again, "whats the reasoning behind it?" And as he turns and walks away, he says "there's no photo or video allowed in MY store" and puts his hands together and BOWS to me. I am Filipino, and I don't know wtf this guy was thinking when he did that, but I felt offended... my girlfriend saw and put the items down and walked out. Terrible customer service. If he had even made up a lie, and smiled, I would have been okay. But the fact that he avoided answering the question, and then BOWS to me because I'm asian.... I was pissed. I called management, left a voicemail and still haven't heard back after 48 hours. UPDATE 12/5/2017: Never received a call back from management. I will reach out to corporate soon. read more

My cousin and I decided to do some shopping around Waikiki and we stepped into Sephora to buy some make up :) Surprisingly this location wasn't as crowded compared to the one in Ala Moana which I like! While looking around the staff is always asking customers if they are okay and need any help. They are also smiley and very helpful. My cousin wanted to find out the right shade for the NARS concealer and the staff was gladly to do so. Afterwards, we moved onto the foundation since she wanted to get a new but didn't know which one would work best with her type of skin. There was this other staff that was friendly and patient to help her with finding the right one. Another staff came by and looked at my cousin's face after applying the foundation and giving tips on which one to get. Once she settled on finding the right one, the staff was gladly to even out her foundation but when she was about to pay, she wanted to put on blush and I guess the staff heard her. They were like "you want some blush? come come, we can put some blush on you!" I just feel comfortable and happy looking for makeup in this location compared to the one in Alas. Also, left both of us feeling satisfy on what we bought! If it wasn't for parking, I think I would go here all the time! read more

Busy store but if you're patient enough, you will get service. I was in no rush though so I was fine waiting until I saw someone that was free to help me. I recently became a VIB and wanted to redeem points for a product I saw online. They said they didn't have it in stock but was willing to make me a small sample of it so take home and try it out. I feel so bad that I forgot the persons name (I think it said Anastasia but she gave me a different name) but she was super friendly and helpful. She told me that they are able to give out free samples of anything that can be squeezed into a small container and including perfumes. I love Sephora. It's the only place I buy makeup, other than MAC. I have sensitive skin so I'd rather spend a little more on makeup than buy a drug-store brand. The other night was the first time I went into the Waikiki Sephora. Great customer service and friendly employees. I had noticed that the Urban Decay 15th Anniversary eyeshadow palette had just come out but they were all gone. A nice girl who worked there told me they had just received the shipment but it was already sold out. She offered to check if they had back stock, but they didn't and said she could put my name on a wait list. I told her I hardly ever go into Waikiki, and she advised that if I really wanted to get it to put my name down at another Sephora location so they can let you know when they get a new shipment. Another cool thing about this Sephora location is that they gave me some good samples! Myla, the manager, was very kind and gave me some products to try. I wish that getting to the Sephora Waikiki location was easier! I would come back if I lived in Waikiki, but I will probably stick to the Ala Moana or Pearlridge location due to the easier access to parking. read more

I always get glammed here. Thank you for making me glamorous on my 30th birthday Shane! She did my make up really well and had a lot of compliments. Also the best lashes and she did a great job putting them on me. I don't really like having fake lashes coz they sometimes make my eyes teary. Shane mahalo so much! Being an accidental VIP Rouge, as in someone who isn't religious to any certain brand, style or routine, I am not one to be very picky when shopping at Sephora stores. I don't need any special treatment; demonstrations, new product sample offerings or opinions. That said, the two times I've shopped at this location on Kalakaua have been less than satisfactory. Both times, I was greeted by depressed looking employees who looked like they would rather be handing out gun range or adult club fliers outside.The store itself is clean, well stocked and organized. It was easy to find cosmetics on the right, skincare on the left and fragrance in the back. However, another downside was the lack of customer care this store offered. I was not once offered any kind of assistance by any of the non-busy staff members, whom were mostly talking story with one another. On my most recent (and perhaps very last) visit to this location, I was in search of the new, nude colored beauty blender, and also charcoal infused brush set. Found them on my own, but my one suggestion would be to offer some kind of customer service. And finally, the cashier on this particular night was NOT friendly at all; she carelessly stuffed my $100+ purchase into a bag and shoved tissue paper on top. And neglected to offer me VIB point redemption items OR free samples of products. I will stick with ordering my Sephora loot online or visiting the Ala Moana location in the future. read more

I apologize for writing a negative review, however I think I've stopped in at this location enough times to express a well-rounded opinion. I wish I could write a raving 4-5 star reaction narrating my amazing visit, but my experiences here stray far away from any of the following positive commentaries. Sephora stores always have an abundance of products, & the displays make it convenient for customers to browse through the different selections. My disappointment is not based off of the products, but with the customer service. The majority of the employees at this Sephora location avoid speaking to customers, & walk around hurriedly to give the impression that they are busying themselves with work-related tasks, when in actuality they are socializing with one another. When I am finally approached by an employee it is simply to offer me a basket, so that they can walk quickly away & return to poke fun at a customer with another employee from a distance. I can recount only two occasions that I was actually approached with the question, "is there anything I can help you with?" & when I tried to ask about a product or for any recommendations, I was quickly directed to a touch screen (where I could help myself), made to feel like an idiot, or treated as if I was causing a complete inconvenience. I work in retail also, & do empathize that sometimes we all have our off-days. But dozens of people over a course of close to 2 years having 'off-days' during every one of my visits? Now that is completely unheard of. I truly hope I'll be able to update this review with positive comments in the future. read more

VIB Rouge member review: Sephora Waikiki is a reliable source for men's cosmetics and fragrances, particularly if you have a staycation in the area. I shop at Sephora Ala Moana and Pearlridge more often than the Waikiki location primarily because it parking starts at $6 for that area. However, I swing by Sephora Waikiki when I am in the area to pick up a few needed essentials. The staff is well humored and make the experience a comfortable one so I don't feel like a fish out of water as a guy in a cosmetics store. Sepora makes the online shopping experience convenient, especially since they ship directly to your home, work place, or recipient if it is a gift. However, the personal touch the Sephora Waikiki team is that extra something which cannot be achieved through an online transaction. For that reason, I would highly recommend Sephora Waikiki for anyone looking to stay fresh and clean. read more

I walked in, deciding to find a new press powder because the one I've been using (MAC Studio Fix) is SUPER old and it was making me break out like a teenager. The first sales' associate wasn't really helpful, I don't think she really understood what I wanted because I kept telling her I didn't want a liquid foundation but she kept saying liquid foundation? but she did point me to the right brand and the right salesgirl: Clinique & Justine. A very pretty girl, I liked her makeup, so I could tell she knew her shit. She immediately knew what I wanted because she had similar skin problems. Justine sat me down and put like...2 products on my face, meant for treating my skin. The whole time we were talking about how we were both haolepinos (haole filipino) and what skincare products she used, like she was my friend or something. It was comforting though because I trusted her that she would make me look good. 5 minutes later, she finishes and I turn to the mirror. HUGE improvement and most importantly, it didn't look cakey at all. Sold. I put the powder in my little baggy and headed to the register line. The girl who rung me up was also very nice and she had awesome nails. For those of you who know me, I love painting my nails and doing different art designs. We get to talking and this girl says that she has a nail blog so we exchange websites and she gives us these samples (I LOVE SAMPLES!!!!!!!!!! WHO DOESN'T?!) Lots of selection. I'm a Sephora shopper, but the customer service here is lacking. Not a lot of people there, but no one really offering to help. Got my own Clarins stuff, went up and told her about the Yelp offer to get 2 free deluxe samples, she shrugged it off and said I can get a free sample of some make up if I want, which I already know is standard. The next lady to help me, never smiled, had bad breath (which is difficult because they get up close and personal with a make up consultation), and I had to wait for her to chat a long time with a coworker when we were in the middle of discussing make up. read more

My rating is based on the most recent Fukubukuro promotion on Jan 1, 2016. We had been to the event a few years ago and my daughter was bummed to have missed out on the Sephora bags. So this year, we came early so she could participate. We're from California, so this is a bit of a treat for her. We'd seen the local press videos and it showed the promise of some good swag. When she opened her bag she found a small makeup bag and...an electric toothbrush. Sure, it's a Foreo Issa toothbrush but nothing like the multiple makeup items that she had hoped. Fortunately, Bare Escentuals saved the day with a much better deal/outcome. I would not recommend Sephora for Fukubukuro ever again. read more

Sephora is now my go to place for makeup, I've never been a big fan of wearing makeup more or less how to put it on. The last time I actually wore makeup was about 10 years ago for my cousin's wedding, it broke me out something bad and since then I've never had an interest to try it again but since going to Sephora, they showed me what will work best for my skin, what brands are the best, the prices aren't bad either, I found a lot of good makeup and they also showed me how to apply it to my face to wear I don't look like a clown with just piles of makeup on my face, I got educated lol I'm not a pro yet but I'm practicing and I'm getting better. I am a makeup whore... yep I said it... but even more so, I am a Sephora slut! I cannot walk in this damned store without spending $50! I will walk in to pick up my favorite mascara, but walk out with that plus a new eye shadow, or fancy nail polish... i love it and I am obsessed... and need to be banned. If you do shop here (which I clearly think is a wise move) I highly recommend becoming a Beauty Insider. You collect points with every purchase, and once you get to 100 or 500 you get free deluxe samples! And once you spend a LOT of money (guilty as charged) you become a VIB (Very Important Beauty). Extremely dirty (polish all over the place, makeup all over the place, employees dressed really unprofessionally, etc.) Idk how it is elsewhere, but a makeup artist should have some experience to applying makeup, not only on their own faces, but on people in general. I like Sephora, it gives me the same feeling I get when browsing in an art supply store, so many colorful goodies. I regret that this one was so close to my hotel - because it was lovely! and I couldn't stop going! The employees were all very helpful and spent a lot of time explaining things to me, a makeup challenged person. The man in the perfume department was especially helpful and recommended some wonderfully scented, travel friendly, affordable products. On a slow night the woman at the register even painted my nails! I realize she was trying to sell the product bit it never felt cheesy. Sephora online is also great. Online and all the stores have a great return policy so I'm never afraid of buying. Always ask for a sample if you're concerned. read more

My boy friend and I use Aveeno and Neutrogena (the soap dispenser face wash) and I had NEVER thought I would start purchasing face creams and cleansers that costs more than $10. I have been to over 10 Sephora for make up or perfume, and every time I stopped by the skin care section, I left empty handed. I genuinely felt it might be all a hoax. Our hotel is right by this Sephora and since my boy friend and I were interested in a non toxic sunscreen, we decided to stop by. That is when we meet Giovanni. This man knows his stuff! If we had a question, he had an answer and he never stopped pushing us to do more research for ourselves. We ended up spending almost $300 on product, just for him and he can see results already. I am going to go back later this week to purchase skin care for myself! But it isn't just Gio who is awesome, Kyle, Keane, and Jon Jon, always make us feel super welcome and are recommending new products for us to try. They don't push you to make a purchases on the spot, instead they give you a sample so you can try it at home and decide for yourself. They don't validate parking here. I believe only the restaurants validate in this building. Oh yeah, and the parking here is not cheap. I think this is the parking lot where I paid $25 for parking about 15 years ago, which is why I'm very leery about parking in Waikiki 'til this very day. I really like this Sephora. Other than one greeter misinforming us that they do validate parking, I've had nothing but good experiences at this store. I've found the employees to be patient and helpful. They really like sending you home with samples too, which is genius because I always end up coming back and looking for products that they gave me samples of. I went to the location in Waikiki yesterday because the Ala Moana location was completely sold out of one of my beauty items. (It happens often.) As I was walkint to the register I passed by the Wen products. A Sephora employee, Damond, asked if I needed assistance. He was very good at describing exactly how Wen worked and what it might do for my hair. Thanks Damond! I have come to this location several times in the past when the Ala Moana location is out of items and generally I can find it at this store. And overall, the whole staff is great! read more

Stumbled in here looking for some more of my perfume that had ran out during vacation. Though they didn't carry Dolce & Gabanna Pour Femme in the roller ball (convenient for me to take home on the plane) they did let me know that if I bought a (refillable) atomizer, they'd fill it with my favorite scent for free! The sales associates here were all very kind... probably some of the kindest I have encountered! It kind of threw me off at first, but when paying with credit card, they do use the iPhone app to swipe your card. They did it with everyone before me, so I assumed there isn't any fishy business going on. It was just different..because as a store that I've seen in so many cities, you'd think they'd have actual credit card machines. Ah well. This is probably my 4th time in here within a two day span. The staff has been excellent in providing me advice and rendering makeover services. I am here on vacation and needed a date night look and they were easy to help me out. I also love that when I signed up and got my gift card I got a few extra free gets along with my purchase so that automatically made me want to come back again. I am not familiar with makeup so they were easy and quick to provide me step by step instructions on how to apply and what products to use. Needless to say I am a new fan of the company and especially this location. I shall return on my next trip back to beautiful Hawaii. SEPHORA - cosmetic heaven. Literally. Especially of your favorite brands like Dior, Tokidoki, Naked, Lancome, etc. The list goes on! I'm happy to say, customer service was really great, you get greeted when you walk through the door, they ask you if you need help finding anything by multiple employees, and of course, you can still get your free samples of your favorite perfume or cologne! I really enjoyed their customer service because I got lazy to look up reviews on my phone, or try to be really specific on finding what make-up is really good for me, so I wanted to see what they had to say, and they all had really good opinions on skin care regime and make-up. I really liked their recommendation, I liked the fact that when they DID recommend a certain item of cosmetics they have tried it for themselves and they were not just trying to 'sell me' the item. I ended up buying some Dior mascaras/primers, and of course perfume! Luckily when I shopped here I had reached 100pts and scored some more free make-up! I also forgot my sephora beauty insider card, luckily they can look it up with my email or phone number :) I can spend forever in here because I get indecisive of which I should get, and try to budget between what I need and what I want, ugh. I hate being a woman, decisions, decisions! I'm also glad that the make-up here are the same price as it back home, and not more expensive, usually it tends to be that way, but I'm glad that it's kept to the original price! I came in tonight during Sephora Waikiki's "rush hour." Haha. I came in to return a liquid matte lipstick that was the wrong color. In and out. Piece of Cake. But then I was greeted by Jena. Jena introduced me to a different shade of liquid matte lipstick that better suited my skin tone. She chose a red that I would have never picked on my own! I love it! She left me to tend to other customers needing assistance. (Not a problem because she left me with some lipsticks to play with.) After chitchatting with her, I informed her that I really wanted to try Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow. But was unsure of the correct eyebrow color to choose. She was sweet enough to make me a sample to try!! So awesome. After I checked out at the register. I went to thank Jena and she gave me a sample of her favorite leave-in conditioner and exfoliant that she told me I must try!! Thank you Jena. Thank you for choosing that perfect red lipstick for me.
