I got really good service at this Sephora. I went to the Ala Moana location first, but they didn't have what I was looking for. They called Waikiki and they had one left and put it on hold for me. It was the Fenty Heat Glass Slipper Gloss. I got there 20 minutes before closing. I went to the cashier and she located my item. I checked in on Yelp and got two free samples. The cashier wasn't sure about the Yelp promo, so she called her manager over. Her manager got me two samples. I also have their Sephora credit card which gives me points for free dollars. I had a $35 credit from my card, which the manager applied to my total. I got a great deal today. *I usually take pics, but didn't have time as they were about to close. From head to toe I've gotten many items here and are all great. I just happened to have taken my personal time which I call my day off day out in Waikiki and in the heart of it is Sephora and of course they just kicked their "Savings Event" the one we all were waiting for as their Sephora line are 30% off and Rouge level get first access of 20% off the store which I've already shopped at other location why not see what they had here that were out of at the other. Yes there certainly was items I didn't see at the other locations too many actually hahah but I did manage to pick up a few items and noticed that with a Yelp check in you can receive 2 free deluxe samples woohoo!! I got two items for my hair one a deep overnight conditioner which I've never tried and am super excited to do so and the other is a repair and strengthening how perfect is that! The staff here is very help and quick to respond, the layout at this location is my favorite as it's super spacious and so easy to browse it's not all cramped where you can't shop without stepping aside for someone. I came here because I happened to stumble upon this location after my Yelp elite event. I needed more sunscreen and I saw something new by one size and decided to buy it. I got the Goop matte sunscreen and the one size lipstick. It's pretty matte and has a gloss on the other end. When I checked out, I spoke with Keoni and he was super funny and helpful. I liked his excitement. I checked in on Yelp and realized I got free major samples. He totally hooked me up with good samples. The store was neatly organized and I managed to find what I needed. I definitely love shopping for my makeup at Sephora and being rouge has its perks. They had a sale on certain items. They really didn't have much left on sale items. read more

Came in about a half hour before close to grab something quick and am so happy with my experience! They're limiting capacity and checking vaccination cards at the door. The girl at the front was so sweet and directed me to the area for the product I was looking for. I browsed a little after grabbing it since there was time. The store is super clean and well stocked! She spent a ton of time color matching me to the Estée Lauder foundation I wanted, and got me the perfume I wanted, plus a free sample. Today's visit was one of pure whim: I've been thinking of Lancôme Tresor fragrance, and had stopped in Macy's and took a spritz while walking around in Waikiki. I recall I had purchased a couple of rollerball EDPs from Sephora before and so decided to check out their selection. First thing I did, naturally, was check in to Yelp. I was excited to see I can redeem 2 deluxe samples just for checking in, and went to the cashier (who wasn't helping anyone at the moment). She called the manager, who explained they no longer are running this promotion, but graciously handed me a couple of samples anyway. He then directed me to the rollerball boutique, where I was instantly greeted by Mary. If you are shopping for fragrances at the Waikiki Sephora, look for Mary! She was very attentive and patient with me, and never once did I get the vibe that she's hoping I'd purchase something and thereby making the time she spent on me worth it. Granted, she was the only one I saw working in fragrances, and so she would greet shoppers wandering in and around where we were. Long story short, Mary pretty much spritzed at least 10 different fragrances to help me determine which one I like best! She took out the jar of coffee beans twice to clear both our palates. I also told her the fragrances I already have at home, because I don't want to buy the same types if I can help it. We determined that I like more of a light floral than citrus, and definitely not spicy, scent. I ended up with NEST Wisteria Blue EDP rollerball ($27), which I definitely would not have sampled on my own (since I've never heard of that brand, I think?) she also very graciously gave me samples (up to 3)- Skylar Capri (I'm intrigued by the no chemicals) and Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede (I love Jo Malone!). I was surprised to see Jo Malone rollerballs (but only the Peony and the Wood Sage & Sea Salt were available; you can get a travel duo combo too, $45) because last I went to Nordstrom at Ala Moana, they didn't have any. Also, I didn't have to go to the main checkout counter to pay! Mary whipped out a nifty gadget and I paid using my credit card. (Cash purchases at checkout counter only, sadly.) I love Sephora. I never pass Sephora without going in. I wanted to make an appointment for a full makeover on the next day, and Waikiki location was the only one had the time slot I wanted availabale. As I walked in to tell someone I was there for a makeover, every single staff seemed busy helping others....I waited a little but nothing, so I ended up telling the cashier. My beauty advisor was actually late about 5min but no biggie. She was talkative and friendly but also too friendly with other staffs....they just kept talking to each other (which did not happen on other appointments). It does not bother me that much...but it sure was distracting. I am not sure as to her skills as a beauty advisor tho. My brows were not quite even, my skin looked very uneven with heavy stick foundation and I did not look that much differrnt from my usual makeup. I was hoping to see a little more change, although I asked for a rather natural look makeup. Everyone was nice but it seemed they were somewhat understaffed and underskilled. Plus this location, I cannot park for free so if it wasn't for the availability of makeup classes, I would go to Ala Moana. read more

Rude Staff!!! All of YOU! They'll follow you around like stalkers asking if you need help constantly even if what you're doing is minding your own business and going thru your "SHOPPING LIST" - smelling other stuff and deciding what scent to buy. I wanted to enjoy my "ME TIME" and "Christmas Shopping" and also to replenish some of my supplies but they ruined it with their mindless persistent questions at every chance they get. Worst is they'll say it's protocol but they don't really try to remember the person they asked the question to so you end up seeing the same faces twice and having all the clerks in the stores asking you if you need any help at every aisle. I ask if there's a reason why 3 clerks in a row have asked me the same question and all they can say is protocol with an attitude. One of them immediately said we're not targeting you it's protocol and left. But sorry-I felt like you singled me out. I was very respectful at first saying no thank you. I have my list. I'll let you know or any of the staff if I need help etc but then barely a minute another one came and ask the same question and another when I moved to my next shopping list. It's like they discriminate base on race or how you dress because other shoppers behind and next to me where not ask the same question over and over again. Other clients around me were enjoying their shopping spree or browsing while I was constantly targeted by the whole staff of Sephora-Kalakaua. Some of the clerks have short term memory-not even looking if they've already asked the same person or not. I got frustrated and decided to leave and not buy anything. I'd rather drive further to Ala Moana branch even Waikele than go to Kalakaua again and be treated like this. Imagine having the whole staff ask you the same question twice as soon as you walk in. 3 of them asked me once and 2 asked me twice. I'll take my money elsewhere if this is how poorly and ignorant Sephora staff on Kalakaua behaves. At least, try to remember a clients face and try not to bombard us with questions specially when you see that we don't need your help. If your issue is thief you have CCTV or follow us silently instead of bombarding us with your meaningless questions like robots every time we pick up an item to smell or whenever we move to a different aisles. I don't mind if you asked once but twice in a row? Like common.. learn to respect others privacy and give them time to shop and enjoy their moment or at least try to remember their faces so you don't come off as rude. I felt like they were targeting me. I felt discriminated and disrespected. I have been a loyal customer to this branch for over a decade and this is the first time I experienced discrimination/racial profiling/racism in my entire life!!! read more

This Sephora is my favourite one to go to because it's not busy unlike the one at ala moana which means the sales associates are way more helpful and more patient! They also have way more stock and brands like Jo Malone compared to ala moana. I was able to find the perfume and eyeliner that I wanted here during the Rouge sale which was sold out at ala moana, kahala, and even Kapolei! Parking is so convenient and easy -- I just park at the building where Sky Waikiki is located in for a flat rate of $7 for five hours to shop or dine around the plethora of cool shops ( Nordstrom rack, Ross etc ) and restaurants ( Cheesecake Factory , Tim Ho Wan etc) in Waikiki or $3 per 1/2 hour to do a quick pick up if you already know what you want to get. I can't remember her name but a beautiful Japanese lady helped me during my visit on the weekend of 10/10 and was so helpful and giving me so much knowledge on the skin care I was inquiring about. They didn't have it in stock as it's an online product but just based on the interaction I had w/the lady at the door, passing other workers walking to the skin care and the sales girl assisting me I'm definitely giving a 5 star rating. Let me just start this review as I love Sephora, I am literally a rouge member. I went into this Sephora just picking up a refill of my summer Fridays. I grabbed and went into the line. The gentleman behind the counter was taking a little longer than it would usually take to sell a single perfume. As soon as I was next in line and about to walk up this lady who worked at Sephora asked me if I was paying cash or card and so I answered card. The people before me payed card so I wondered why she asked. She started touching my back and trying to get me to go to her register at the other end of the store. I would understand if there were a couple people in front of me but I was in front of the check out. She walked away annoyed and asked someone else. The gentleman behind the counter scanned my item but didn't offer me to use any of my points, I have over 3000 and was going to use 500 for 10 dollars off. When he didn't offer which they always do I was confused. But I payed and waited for my aunt. She got 3 different lip glosses and he was just confusing us the entire time. He gave her receipts to leave but not the products, when my aunt was like where did they go she saw him drop them on the floor. A new Sephora store in Waikiki Shopping Plaza! I went there on opening day last Friday and scored the Urban Decay Naked Palette that's sold out nationwide! (Don't worry gals and guys, it's a part of their permanent collection). I also received a free patent tote for coming on opening day and being a Beauty Insider. :) The best thing about coming on opening day was that the sample palettes were brand new, so I wasn't grossing out at testing them on my hands...you could probably test the products out on your face that day! Just FYI, if you want to return a gift then you can't at this Sephora location. They'll only return to the credit card it was purchased on and won't even consider store credit/gift card. I'd opt for another makeup/skincare location for the holidays since that's such a cumbersome policy that makes gift giving a pain. Also, the manager is extremely rude and unprofessional. If you don't want to accept the return with refund as store credit, then there's no need to shake your head while looking at my receipt and LOUDLY whispering to the cashier loud enough to hear that, "tsk, tsk, we don't do that." Also, if you're not going to accept the return, then is it necessary to (in an extremely accusatory tone, I've worked in customer service for years, I can recognize it) "who's card is this?" Seriously? It's not Sephora's problem. What illegal BS do you think I'm up to where I have the products AND receipt. But just to reiterate, it's my dad's card. Seriously, I'm Rouge and have spent a stupidly embarrassing amount of money a year at Sephora (online and instore) and this is the first time I've experienced this "policy" and treatment. Sephora on Kalakaua has been home to me since I first moved to Waikiki 6 years ago. Next to the Waikiki Shopping Plaza is this beautifully lit and welcoming place for all ages alike. Walking here has always been a breeze and parking at the Ross lot is never a trouble after validation. Sephora is a one stop shop for all beauty needs whether you're looking for new shades of all sorts, make-up, skin care, scent and beauty tools. Sephora carries not only their own brands but a plethora others as well, with a large selection of perfumes and sets. Beauty consultants are never too busy to help whenever you're browsing and can't find something. I've had many days when I'm in need of a new shade or ran out of concealer or foundation, Michelle always helped me whenever I needed many specifics and they're out of stock. They will search for some on the back or other Sephora locations and or think of an alternative that will work. I've never been disappointed during my many trips to this location. It's probably one of the reasons why I don't frequent other locations much. What I love about this location the most is they're pet friendly. I had attended a "Smooches for Pooches" event with the Hawaiian Humane Society and Sephora had sponsored and all the proceeds went to Hawaiian Humane Society. The consultants are very welcoming not only to the guests of the evening but especially to the furry pals. Ever since then, I've been returning with my pup in tow for plenty of fun beauty shopping. Otherwise, I don't think they'd recognize me without my fur-son! The verdict, I highly recommend coming here if you're dining around the area. It's always kept clean with a few beauty stations for worthy make overs. The store is filled with beauty consultants for instant help. Fenti wheat. Bobby brown corrector. And hourglass mascara. She finally explained why my blush should be high on my cheeks sweeping to my temples and not low on the cheek-Apple area. Finally! Elegant, restored and glowing she even sent an email with all the products right there and then just in case. I'm going to regret not stocking up as we don't have Fenti in NZ yet. I am one of those shoppers that is very loyal to brands/products. When I find something I like, I'll continue using it for years and years and years. When Sephora got rid of its OPI/Sephora nail polish brand I was devastated. Good thing I've bought so many bottles over the years, that I'm good for the foreseeable future. It also helped that the OPI brand was very discounted as Sephora got desperate to sell them all before bringing in a new line. I like this location because it's convenient for me. The workers are friendly and not overly stifling or pushy. Because I buy the same things over and over, I'm especially not very talkative with sales associates at Sephora. I brought my puppy here once, and one of the workers insisted on going into the back to get him some puppy treats. It was a nice gesture and he seemed to genuinely be interested in my puppy. I come here to buy my essentials. I like browsing the sale racks every now and then, but I sometimes buy online because shipping is so speedy and convenient. I am also able to return items in store! Some stores don't allow this, so it's def a plus! I can't talk much about parking, as I always walk here, but Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center is a good choice if you plan on doing some shopping there too. read more

This Sephoras is my favorite one on island. The employees here are absolutely awesome, and are always very knowledgeable and helpful. But this review is specifically for Almonds, as she has given me multiple makeovers. Almonds is so attentive, it's soothing to see and experience. Her level of expertise compliments her attention to detail. She has been doing makeup since 2008 if not earlier. She has a clean editorial style, where everything is blended so clean and smooth. She aims to accentuate your specific qualities and will work with you on your goals. Everytime Almonds has done my makeup here I cannot look away from the mirror! Haha! I feel so beautiful and confident, and leave with the product recommendations she suggests. Almonds is not limited to her makeup skills, because girl she can slay that hair just as beautiful. Thanks to my puerto rican side, I have a full head of fine hair that is beyond poofy. It could be comparable to Mufasa if you really want to go there lol. She helps me pick out products that are cleaner and that work for my hair type. She's styled my hair straight, curled, slicked back and more. I cannot recommend her enough, so do yourself a favor and book a makeover with Almonds! Don't blame me if your addicted and want to go back all the time like I do!! read more

As most of us from Australia are aware the price of make up is crazy back home. So of course I could not visit Waikiki without my obligatory multi visits to Sephora. I won't go in and bore everyone with my bargain finds ( but there was a lot of make up i have lugged home!). I was really amazed at the high quality service in the multiple times I visited the store. The staff always acknowledged with ' Aloha' and if you enquired about any products they went out of their way to help you locate it or ask another staff member to help. They also provide advice on make up and  make up artist to apply sample mini make overs to ensure you can sample the product before purchase and all the make up artists were so friendly and professional. They even offer make up classes ( not sure of the cost). My friend also got a free make over after purchasing a lot of products. I now understand why this would be a PR dream machine by providing end to end cosmetic advice, I wish we had this level of service in Australia. read more
