I don't know why I keep coming to this location. I'm here at least once every 2 to 3 months. And I cannot remember the last time anyone asked me if I needed help. I can wander the store for 20 minutes and encounter multiple employees, who will neither ask me if I need help or acknowledge me. There have been several times where I have asked for help, and the person is helpful. I feel like at this type of place, you should not need to ask for help. They should come to you. read more

I have gone to this place for the past 6 years, never been greated and barely helped but I didn't care as I always knew exactly what I needed until my recent experience and I won't be going back. For one I guess my confidence of heading straight back to the makeup section to try on two different tones of the Clinique CC line made them suspicious as I noticed security was walking around me while I was working the samples into my face. Next thing I know is a lady whom I presume was the manager comes over and asks if I need help, I didn't really but was curious on opinion. The girl she sent over obviously had no interest in helping me as iv never seen anyone look so uninterested and kept yawning while looking at her watch. I'd ask a question and I'd get a blank look. Whatever, she was more than happy when I said I had no more questions after she tried to sell me a very over priced tear drop face blender things which you can get a package of 5 on Amazon for less than their rediculous price of one. Also the girls wear way to much makeup and it looks aweful. So no way am im going to spend $50 to have someone with caked on makeup give me a makeover that I don't need. Flawless natural look is much better. I also would go to a professional before any of them. So thanks Sephora for my last and final visit, I will take my business elsewhere, not that you care! Oh and by the way I'm a Veteran and I have never stole a thing in my life, if you were so concerned, why didn't you just come on over and ask me yourself if I needed help instead of having security walk around me making me very uncomfortable and the reason for setting this review off. read more

I love this Sephora location. They are always knowledgeable about almost every product and if they haven't used one themselves they know someone in the store that has! I've been educated on the best products for my face. For example I was looking for an exfoliator for my face due to the extreme dry skin I have that has been peeling all winter and into the spring. I thought I'd tried everything. My daughter asked one of the awesome girls what she recommend! She introduced us to an enzyme that I never knew about, I'm always the last to learn about things. It's called Boscia peeling gel. A little goes along way !It's a pomegranate Enzymes! It's AWESOME! It WORKS! everyone in my family has used it at least 2x and still have 1/2 the bottle left. Works better as an exfoliant than ANYTHING ELSE WE'VE EVER USED OTC OR HAD DONE PROFESSIONALLY!! ON EVERYTHING!! I spend way to much on make-up for my daughter and myself which is ironic because we hardly ever wear it out on a daily basis. Just like to have the best when I want to use it! I usually love this Sephora but it has become too much lately and tonight was my last straw. As you can tell from other reviews on this site and many others, this store seems to have a hard-on for hiring "prejudiced" people. Now my friend and I look "different" if you will. We both have colored hair and a few visible piercings here and there. We also tend to dress pretty comfortably when we go out. Every now and then I would get the feeling that we were being followed by employees. I always chalked it up to them just wanting to eagerly help us (even though every time we would ask for help they would do the bare minimum). Yet no matter what, there would always be at least one employee on us. Tonight was no different is seemed like. There were sly remarks from employees here and there and of course, there was always someone right behind us. But then, all of a sudden, no longer were we being followed by the employees, we were being followed by SECURITY! And this man wasn't being shy about it either. He would literally watch us pick up every little thing and wait for us to put it down. It wasn't until we finally got sick and tired of this treatment and left that the security guard followed us out of the store. Now listen, I understand that you can't have your products stolen and you need to be on top of your game on this kind of stuff. But what struck me was after reading ALL of the other reviews, I realized that the only people who seemed to be followed are people of color, and alternative looking people. All-in-all, I am disgusted with this Sephora and will never return to this location again. Not only should the floor employees be ashamed of themselves, but the managers and corporate offices should be as well. This all just seems like one big f-u to their customers. read more

I just want to let you airheads know that I was in your store for a good 15-20 minutes trying on lipstick and none of you said hello or asked if I needed help. I was recently at the Scottsdale quarter location and the service was horrible! I determined I would never go back. So I went to the one in San Tan Village today. What a difference! A couple days ago I went in to get a brow product because I wanted to learn to fill in my brows. The lady who was helping me out was really nice but I feel like she didn't really teach me how to use the product and she didn't apply that nice either. So today I went in to exchange my ABH dip brow for the ABH brow wiz. Michelle was the girl who helped me today and she was awesome! I ended up getting the benefit KA BROW and my eyebrows looked so amazing and she also advised me on what I should be doing. Came in for eye shadow after not finding exactly what we wanted at Lancome in Dillards, nothing against Dillards or Lancome, I love both, just didn't have exactly what we wanted. They were super busy being prom day in Gilbertia. Like, really, really busy. Couldn't turn around without running into some giggling, annoying teenager. Remember that tee shirt in the 80's 'I ran into Tammy Faye at the mall'? Yeah, pretty much. We were greeted by the manager, Mary and she was extremely helpful. She took the time to listen to what we were looking for and even though they were 'double booked' offered to find someone to help us and if she couldn't, she'd help us herself. She brought Amy over and she too was very helpful and took the time to listen to what we wanted, did a great job and we walked away with exactly what we were looking for. Great experience! Meh. Sometimes I get amazing service, sometimes I'm treated as if I didn't exist. I wish this Sephora was more consistent with their customer service. There's actually a young man (don't know his name) that works in this store that I adore. He's the best of the best, as far as Sephora is concerned. Always willing to help, has great suggestions, and shows me products that are age appropriate. That's about it. I'm usually never offered any type of "customer service" unless he's working. What can I say.....I love, love Sephora with other than being highly expensive its one of the only places I get all my makeup. From eye shadows to foundations and anything I may need to get dolled up on a night out of town. I break out horribly if I use cheap inexpensive makeup....so I have to go the expensive route..plus I get better results. I love the different selections that they have. read more

Popped into the fabulous San Tan valley location today, & was definitely made to feel like a rock star! Each & every associate spoke to me at least once, asking if I needed help finding anything or had any questions. They all seemed to genuinely love their jobs, & were happy to be there. One of the lovely ladies had just the most fabulous cat eye liner (she said her secret was Stila), the amazing manager, Mary Kelly, was rocking a fierce red lip, the awesome employee who helped me find a good concealer brush (& explained how to use the darn thing) had absolutely flawless foundation, & the gentleman who checked me out had some amazing ink. Mary was really on top of everything, she helped at least 3-4 people the first 5 minutes I was there, helped me figure out what was up with my mystery concealer I couldn't find, gave me some tips on working with a new concealer I had purchased at a different store,then had an associate meet me in the brush section to discuss the pros and cons of various concealer brushes. I came back today because the product I was looking for was supposed to arrive today (it didn't) but Josh was so helpful and found an equally amazing product for me and also shared some excellent tips with me. Went in to return an item and an employee came over to offer help. I've been to many Sephora's and this was a first. I was nicely greeted, no pressure or over the top fakeness. he was truly helpful. helped me thru perfumes, smelling them, offered to make me a sample and was informative. We have been a preferred customer of Beauty Brands for several years. I went to pay for all my items in the store at San Tan Village Gilbert AZ, when I noticed that my wallet was missing. When I told the girl checking me out she said if I wanted to check my car she would keep my items up front. My wallet was not in my car. So while I'm checking my car some girls found my wallet out side the store on the side walk. Now keep in mind the store clerks new I was looking for my wallet so when the honest Girls went to turn my wallet in they sent them away and told them to find Mall Security, REALLY!!! By the time I walked back in from checking my car they where long gone. We got the description of the girls and drove all around the shopping center, could not find them. We Checked security no one had turned it in. Then, Sephora called me and the girls had walked to their Store and tuned it in at Sephora. They looked me up in there system saw I was a customer got my number and called me. They had made the nice honest girls small gift bags as a reward for being honest . When we went back to Beauty Brands to complain about how they handled the situation the Manager was very flip and rude. Very unprofessional!! They could careless . Beauty Brands could have done the same that Sephora had done and looked me up or at least remember I was right there looking for my wallet. I will never go back to Beauty Brands. I receive nothing but terrible service here. Every time I go in to get a new foundation or restock on my concealer they are always out. It's frustrating when I come in once a week and nothing is ever restocked. Also the lady that was helping my mom was nothing but rude to us and talked down to us like we didn't know anything about makeup. I will never shop at this sephora again. read more

Whoever manages the Sephora stores doesn't do their job. Last weekend I went into the Sephora Store at San Tan Mall to get a Clairisonic massage head. They were out so had to order it online which took a week for me to get. This week I went in to get a highly used product Anastasia taupe dip brow. They were out again so I asked them to call the Superstition Springs store and they were out too. If I wanted to buy this common product to use today I couldn't. Why do they even have a brick and mortar store if they can't stay stocked?? Don't bother going in to shop there because they will most likely be "out of stock!" read more

I loved this location up until my most recent visit. The employees watched me like I was going to steal something. It was a very unpleasant visit this entire time. I was not properly helped in finding what I was looking for. I had two returns to do also and I got the rudest looks ever. I didn't have the receipt but knew they could locate these purchases through my beauty insider card, it was just a horrible experience. I think your business model is beginning to implode. You cannot treat moderate to high-end cosmetics shoppers like worthless wastes of your time and expect them to continue to funnel money into your business. There are too many businesses in this space that are doing a better job with customer service and customer appreciation. It is Christmas and your store was nearly empty. Ask yourself "why?". I used to LOVE this Sephora location. Big change in staff over the last year and this staff is so different. Before the staff was extremely professional. Now they are borderline rude. Josh is the ONLY exception to this. He is so knowledgable. Sadly, the rest of staff make you feel like you are wasting their time. I almost always order online now due to this. This is my go-to Sephora. I've been to ultas, other drugstores, and cosmetics sections of a Nordstrom Dillard's or Macy's and have never gotten service like I consistently do here. I love their return policy because sometimes you use a product and it just doesn't work for you, I believe it is 6 months used or not but they appreciate it if you have a receipt. The rewards program is totally worth it, beauty insider then VIB then VIB Rouge. You get cute little prizes with so many points and online offers. Anthony has made such a personal connection the last three times I've gone in he's been there! He must work a lot and I can see why. He helped us find a great setting powder when it looked like the bin was empty. He also helped me do returns and gave me tips on brushes to use, even if they weren't Sephora which I appreciate because I'm on a budget. Called and asked about a new foundation line from a specific brand that I love. I was then told that they have it, plenty of them and to come on over. I get there, wait, and wait, and then was finally told that yes, they have it ... in the back because they are not putting it out for purchase yet. Lied to and wasted my time. Had a trial wedding makeup session here and thank goodness I decided to do a trial because it was horrible! Eyebrows crooked, eyeshadow uneven, crooked lipstick I could go on and on ... I was simply astonished! I could have never imagined that I would hate a "professional" makeup application. I was able to get in at a makeup counter at a dept store and was thrilled with the results. Bottom line buying makeup here sure I guess, but DO NOT trust them for applying makeup for a special occasion. read more
