Disgusting. Inconsiderate. Disrespectful. I don't know about everyone else, but I go to Sephora and other make-up stores to help myself feel beautiful and empowered. I left this location feeling horrible and awful. Associates Chloe and Patty deliberately made fun of my mother's clothing while I was right in front of them. My mother's shirt was simply tucked in and they poked fun at her, laughing obnoxiously. I have never encountered such deplorable behavior by two grown women in a retail setting in my life. read more

This is the most amazing experience I've ever had in any retail store I have ever been to. I wanted to go to a makeup store all day to get a little bit of makeup to get started in the world of cosmetics; but I was nervous because I had I had no idea what I was doing and the last time I had gone into a cosmetic store I felt completely silly and uneducated. I walked in with no makeup on, shoulders slumped and completely terrified. The moment I walked in the door I was approached by an associate that asked if I needed any help. I nervously told her that I had NO idea what I was doing and she completely lit up with excitement! She introduced herself, Jazmin, and we started running around the store trying on great products! Jazmin made me feel like I was a personal friend and showed me amazing products that I have loved using, even things that she wore personally! Ever since I bought the products that Jazmin recommended to me, my husband has not stopped telling me how amazing I look. He loves the colors that she chose, which is such a relief because I've never been able to chose good colors for myself. More than that, she didn't make me feel pressured or silly even once, and she even taught me how to put the products on! When Jazmin brought me to the cash register, my cashier was so sweet and made me feel just as welcome. She complimented me on the makeup that Jazmin had put on and chose for me! I really wish I had caught her name because she signed me up for the rewards program and solidified my great experience. :) Thank you to this location for having wonderful employees that made me feel welcome and beautiful. Not sure why the negative reviews- I've always had superb experiences here. I love love love Sephora. I come for skincare products, perfume, and my general makeup needs. I've never taken advantage of free makeup or some of the other perks that come with being a VIB- I should probably do that soon. read more

I have been in this store numerous times over the years and lately it's declined in service. Laura in the Facial Care section is wonderful and she always has been. She's been there for years. But again, as of the last year or so, the service here has gone down and the friendliness has not been there. It's more like the customers are an annoyance and the workers don't want to be bothered and just want to stand around and talk and try the makeup and play with their phones on the line instead of helping. Most of the workers have their friends show up and they all stand around and it's like one big teenage hang out in the store. It's rather quite annoying to the customer who wants to actually shop and get stuff. read more

I would like to give credit to Tanner! He helped explain the difference between two foundations, answered all my questions and listened very carefully. I'm not one to come into the store because it can get overwhelming but he made the trip worth it. I'm always looking for the next best foundation and he helped me choose the perfect color. I usually LOVE this Sephora. Whenever I walk in, I am immediately greeted by a friendly sales associate who knows what they are doing and is always extremely helpful regarding anything I need help with.. not this visit. I was not greeted AT ALL when I walked in and there were about 4 sales associates standing around the make over station chatting about personal things. I was clearly wandering around looking for the Laura Mercier section and not one of them offered to help (not that big of a deal right?, but I am used to superb customer service so this was a real shock to me). Only when a customer interrupted the gossip session at the make over station did a sales associate come to ask if I needed help (wish I could remember her name, brown hair, older). I said yes, and she became immediately annoyed like her question was an empty offer. She helped me pick out the powder that I needed and then I asked her about the foundation, she did take the time to try out several foundations but seemed to be really confused as to which one matched and then seemed to make a rash decision and just picked a random one. She picked the powder and the foundation off the shelf for me and put them in a bag (I will get to this later) and tried to send me on my merry way. I still had questions for her about products and she pawned me off on someone else because she had to get back to the make over station... when not a single customer was there... odd? The new girl seemed very new and very nervous. I needed a foundation brush and she kept pushing me toward the more expensive one which I thought was quite annoying. I then wanted to buy dry shampoo and moisturizer so I was passed off AGAIN. In all the times I have been, the same person who starts helping me, finishes to the end. I understand the difference between the make-up artists and skin care but I was tired of being passed off. The skin care guy (again didn't get any of their names) was the most competent than the first two combined. He helped me find a moisturizer and was candid about the reviews he has heard about the products and also showed me the Skincare IQ (I think thats what its called?) which was cool because I had never used that before. But as he was helping me he was CONSTANTLY talking on the radio which got annoying bc I had to repeat myself several times because he wasn't listening. Then I FINALLY get to check out and the girl who checked me out was very loud and again on her radio most of the time, so I had to repeat my email 3 times. She was very thorough in explaining the VIB card I had just earned and checked to make sure I understood all the benefits. After this incredibly long, frustrating visit... I get home to find out the first woman who helped me not only gave me the wrong shade of powder but the wrong shade of foundation too!!!!!! I should have double checked but as I mentioned before A) your sales associates have always been amazing and B) I would think she would be competent enough to grab the right shade, when she was the one who not only picked them out but physically insisted on getting them for me and putting them in a bag. This was hands down the worst experience I have ever had and now I have to come back to return these wrong shades. I know that some people have their off days and I understand that Saturdays can be busy but the store was relatively empty. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt but this was ridiculous. If I did not use beauty products from Sephora so often I would definitely NOT return to this store after this visit. read more

I'm all for giving people second/third chances but this place does not deserve a fourth. I asked to be colored matched for foundation but for my third consecutive trip I was led to the most expensive foundation WITHOUT being colored matched or given more affordable options when asked. Really just terrible customer service at this location. Very disappointed and will strongly recommend friends/family/community to stay away. I'm a huge Sephora fanatic, today I visited the Cherry Creek location and it was awful. First of all, no one was greeting the customers and it was early with very slow traffic, as I was looking I had a question for a specific brand they carry and a male employee guided me to the section in a very annoyed way. The stock lacked many, many products, I went to the Kat Von D section and only 3 color liquid lipsticks were available, the foundation was out of stock, same thing with Tarte, Anastasia Beverly Hills, perfume section, and Sephora Collection products. Knowing it's in Cherry Creek, I probably should have not come in here straight off a long morning shift looking kind of scraggly. I got straight up profiled when all I was trying to do was replenish a few items/ check out some new things. My boyfriend came in with me and when he got sick of makeup shopping (we were in there for a while) and went to go sit outside, I started to get followed, stared at, and baskets shoved at me with a salesperson coming up to me every few minutes. It made me nervous and honestly a little offended so after wandering around deciding what to do I put my stuff back. Immediately after I did that a salesperson came around the corner and asked why I decided not to get anything. It was incredibly rude. Then another one got really close to me on the way out to ask if I was sure I didn't need any more help. So yeah, I'm definitely not going back there. read more

So, I love Sephora; I drop A LOT of cash with their company. I usually shop online, but I decided I would stop in because I was at the mall doing a couple of other things. The last time I was in I had a great experience, but after yesterday I am considering taking my money elsewhere--I mean it is a convenient place, but not the only place where you can buy good beauty products. Unlike many of the other reviewers, I had to constantly tell people that, "I was doing fine" and "I'm just looking." I could not make it from one section to another without being asked if I needed anything. It got to the point where I literally felt like I was being followed through the store. I hope they were doing that to everyone, and I wasn't a target. When my masculine presenting partner came into the store and we began to sample colognes they had at least one employee next to us the entire time. At one point this one sales person looked at me and said, "You've just been all over, haven't you? You started on one side (women's perfumes/colognes) and now are on this side (masculine-cologne side.)" Um, isn't that how shopping works? You walk around and look at stuff often times on multiple sides of a store? I don't go to the mall a lot, but the few times I have been no one has commented on my movement patterns through a store. Then, as my partner is sampling masculine colognes, because we were going to buy one, and we were trying to find the right one, she was like, "You've sampled all of these and you don't know on any of them?" What do you usually wear?" "Lacoste-sport," I replied and pointed to the bottle. It was seriously like she didn't know what to do. A female-bodied person wearing masculine cologne...oh no! Call the Gender-police, this lady doesn't know how to handle androgyny or non-conformity. I thought after us telling what she usually wears, maybe she would offer some new and different suggestions. Instead, she goes, "Yeah sometimes it isn't the right day [for a girl to buy men's cologne]" Um...again, I am not super familiar with the whole mall/shopping process, but wouldn't a sales person, who has been tailing me around the store, feel like it was always the right day to buy/sell something? Because I believe this to be true, it was just plain rude and bad customer service. We were both like, "Ok." I was going to buy something and get my birthday gift, but I felt like we should just get out of the store. If Sephora is that worried about things getting stolen, maybe they need a new set up, instead of just tailing people through a store. This is why I shop online, but after that experience, Sephora you have left a bitter, bitter taste in my mouth. I'm thinking I will take my business back to MAC because I know there are guys working who wear makeup, so they are cool with the gender-bending. And we can by cologne at any department store. So, your loss, Sephora. I should probably file a formal complaint. read more

Sephora has great products and cool, generous sized samples. My sister scored and gave to me a Sugar lip treatment she received with her purchase - yay for me. Unfortunately I can stay in the store for about 60 seconds before breaking into hives and being unable to breathe - yes I am that girl. read more

OK, so I really like Sephora but this location isn't there best. When you have to hunt down someone to help you, it's not cool. But...they carry brands I can't get anywhere else, like Makeup For Ever and you can try multiple brands without having to hit up individual counters and feel bad when you turn down each one. read more

Went in to this store to purchase a product and it was out of stock so a sales associate said i could purchase the item and have it shipped to my home in 1 -2 businesses days. Sounds great right? She had trouble figuring out how to operate her computer so a second associate assisted her. A few days ago I tried to track the package online with no luck. Today I received a notice from UPS that they had my "packages" at their warehouse. The trip to the UPS warehouse took an hour out of my day. Sephora's staff charged me for two items, misspelled my first name and my last name, and didn't include my apartment number. I'm so bummed. read more

I've had such variable experiences at this Sephora, being that I have visited often 6+ times within the last nine months. My last experience is one for the books in that I had two very drastically different customer experiences; the first with a middle-aged woman working in the skincare department who was absolutely no help. I asked over 5 or 6 questions about specific products, whether she had tried them (hadn't) or knew which ones other customers liked best for dry-skin types. Literally could've spoken to a wall and gained more insight. It seemed she had no idea about any of the common-name products I inquired about. After hightailing it out of skincare, I asked a younger blonde about some products for drier skin types and she went above and beyond recommending skincare products and makeup as well. She was phenomenal and gave me multiple samples to try along with detailed poignant explanations for how and why to use each. After two days of using the samples she offered me, I know I'll be back to purchase at least 2 or 3. I can't remember this woman's name, but she was wonderful and mentioned she had worked at Sephora for 7+ years. read more

They recommend products without pressuring and I love the color IQ scan option they have. I always get matched to the perfect shade. I come here for everything. Poor customer service. Associate and manager are unprofessional and incompetent. I asked for a spot treatment moisturizer, they gave me glittery moisturizer, kept my receipt, and didn't add the purchase to my VIP rouge account. I asked if they can add the purchase to my history 2x they said it's done. It was never added. read more

Great selection of products and good customer service (with the exception of make-up application). Also, great return policy for a make-up store. My only complaint is that the staff make-up application and consultation skills offered seem amatuer. On occasion, I may get someone that actually seems like they no what they're talking about, but mostly not. Considering this is a national chain, I think Sephora could definitely market/brand itself better by ensuring fully trained staff who knows how to answer basic make-up questions and do make-up application. read more

I have lived in Denver for seven years and I have met only three women who are friendly, know their wares and have suggested the best products for me which I was more than happy to purchase. The rest of them either don't want to help you, have the worst attitude while doing it, or simply want to rush you to get to the next person. I love the brands that Sephora carries, but if I'm going to drop a butt lode of hard earned income and need some help while doing it I should be treated with respect. Go in knowing what you want. Don't go in for a makeover or for advice because nine times out of ten you won't get anything worth your time. read more

I frequent the Sephora store often and have been going many years. I buy makeup, hair and skin care products. After year's of spending money and offering my loyalty I have decided to shop Nordstroms and Ulta. I went there today to get some help as I have an event tonight. There was a great salesperson who was helping me (I do not recall his name) the manager kept interrupting him on his ear device. She finally came over in the middle of our consultation, asked if I made an appointment and stated that he would have to move on. Huh?? The store wasn't crowded and the longer he spent with me the more $$$ I was spending. Really poor experience.Awkward. Salesperson apologized and felt bad. I have been a VIB member for years and have 2700 points still to spend on gifts --- I have never experienced this kind of service and hopefully in the future others will have better luck. Attempted to return a $20 Christmas gift for which I had no receipt. Was told the return was declined. Was given a phone number to call to find out more, and they told me I could not return because sephora is trying to limit the number of returns, and they also told me my $20 product cost $170, which is incorrect. Katie suggested items in a way that made me trust her; she ended up helping me find the perfect match for a new concealer, while Kelly eased over the earlier altercation with poise, respect, and overall friendliness.
