This Sephora store located in the Kohls Store has horrible customer service . The ladies working behind the counters act as if they are bothered by you being there. I have reported the issue to customer service and they remain the same. Please don't waste your time going to that particular store inside Kohl's. I no longer will patronize their store. I came here to get my makeup done for a wedding. My appointment was @1. I booked it on the Sephora app and it strongly encouraged coming 10 minutes before the appt time in order to not lose your spot. When I arrived I sat at the make up station. An associate greeted me and told me someone would be with me shortly. Dee Dee came to help me. She was amazing! She asked what look I was going for and I showed her my pinterest screenshots. Dee Dee immediately went to work pulling products that would work for my skin type and achieve the desired look. Dee Dee was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions, without the condescending tone most MUA seem to lead with. It was a very enjoyable experience. I'll be back! read more

Went in during evening hours, not at a busy time,no customers waiting in line. Requested assistance with product retrieval (it's locked for security) and was told that someone would come help. I waited over 10 minutes and nobody assisted me. The individual who said that someone would be over just looked at me. I don't expect red carpets but I do expect that if you have a customer who wants to spend money with you, that you will provide the service necessary for them to do so. I won't be back. read more

Stopped in to pick up Daughters Christmas list items. Was immediately greeted by a lovely lady named Andrea and she had a big smile. I handed her my iPhone and the Notes App listing from the Daughter. Andrea proceeded to walk me around the store as she found each and every item on the list and added it to her basket. She provided small talk and, I think, included a little bit of flirting; or maybe it was me just being 'wishful thinking' ... About nine minutes later the list was complete and everything was in the basket. It was only a short nine minutes but to me it felt like an hour had gone by. Must have been the flirting business. Andrea walked me to the register and introduced me to the cashier. She then indicated that should I need anything else to come back and ask for her! :-) There's that flirting, again... A big 'Thank You' to Andrea as she made short work of the list and prevented a male from being hopelessly lost in a store full of makeup and women. read more

Bottom Line: A nicely organized store with a variety of brands and helpful staff. Sephora is a great place to splurge on beauty products. There are many brands and products packed into this store yet it is still well organized and easy to shop. Since I usually want to just grab what I need and get out of there, I typically ask for help finding my items. All of the staff is helpful but help ranges from pointing in a general direction to escorting you over to the products and providing additional information. I think the easiest way to access this Sephora is to park outside of Pottery Barn and then walk through Pottery Barn since the store is just a few doors down the mall. read more

Love the mall hate the ppl that work in this location. The manager is rude to the employees as well as the customers. I was in the midst of asking about a specific product and she butt right in rude and very entitled. Then questioned me a about a color match which I had no idea of what she was talking about nor who the person was that she claimed told her that I needed assistance. I had an appointment for my makeup at 2pm for a wedding. My appointment was supposed to be for an hour. Supposed to be out by 3 PM. I came in ON TIME and it took them about 30 mins get ready and pick out my makeup/ correct shades. Right before the girl was supposed to start my makeup, they came and told me there was a mix up and someone else was supposed to do my makeup. The new girl seems like she has no idea what she was doing. ( don't remember her name but she was Persian) She did EVERYTHING wrong. I even asked her if all the associates can do makeup and she say " no, only the qualified ones that take a class and pass." She was NOT qualified to do makeup. I could have some my own makeup better in half the time! She lines my lips like a 5 yr old, my eyebrows were 2 shades darker and I had pink eyeshadow!!! I literally wanted to die cause I was running late and I didn't know how to fix it!! I was supposed to be done at 3, she finished at 3:50!!! The other associates kept telling her she needs to finish up cause she's taking too long. The reason why she took so long was because she knew she messed up and didn't know how to fix it!! I looked like a fucking monster. I went back to my hotel took and took off half the damn make up and I MISSED THE WHOLE CHURCH CEREMONY!!!!! I never write reviews but this was the worst experience of my life and I PAID 90$!!!!! if someone is not qualified to do makeup, why TF would you let them?!?! Anywaysss DONT GET YOUR MAKEUP DONE HERE!! unless you have a whole day to prepare in case they f*** up and you can go somewhere else. Y'all suck. You're service suck. Never any complaints when I enter this Sephora. The MUAs seem like they love what they do and it shows in their service. They also love to help. Whenever you look lost, they are always asking if you need help and answer any questions you have. I admit, I just really started getting deeper into doing my make up and I was lost when it came to contouring. One of the MUAs told me to start with powder contour since its easier to blend and she made sure I was using the right brushes. So very helpful! read more

Ordinarily I wear very minimal make up but realized overtime I had racked up enough points to choose 2 free make overs so I decided to give it a try for my engagement photos. Tiffany was my make up artist and she was amazing. I gave the most vague description of what I wanted(mainly because I'm awful at understanding make up). Much to my surprise, she went with such little guidance and gave me a look I would not have made myself. It started with a nice quick face mask to prep the skin and she stopped along the way to make sure I was okay with everything. She was friendly and approachable so I didn't feel any pressure to say I liked something I didn't. She was also very patient when I couldn't decide on a lipstick. Every time I come into this location, very rarely do I get help. When I ask for help, I feel like I am bothering the associates. I actually prefer to go the one in JC Penny's. Great experience receiving a beauty makeover at this location in the Annapolis Mall. Mery was absolutely amazing in skill and personality. I loved that she started the session with skincare. She used amazing products to clean, hydrate and prep my skin for the makeup (I will be purchasing all of it). It made such an amazing difference in the final result. She is a whiz at eyebrows and overall makeup application. I felt so beautiful and "slayed" after it was done! Best experience and great benefit as a Rouge member to get it for free. Sephora is usually an overwhelming playground. This one feels a bit smaller but it's nice. You don't have anyone at the door to greet you at this particular store and while I normally feel like they are a tad overbearing, I actually had questions and needed help during the past two visits. Once I flagged someone down they were very helpful, made a few suggestions for facial products and even gave me samples to try out for a few days before I made a purchase. I usually DREAD going into Sephora. It's not the prices or the music or the product selection that gets me, it's the employees. I was not typically greeted, rarely helped, and never had an employee offer to try a product out on me. Honestly, going into Sephora used to just make me feel bad about myself so I stopped going altogether. Today I happened to stop by the stand alone Sephora in the Annapolis Mall for the first time because I knew EXACTLY what I wanted and was not concerned about receiving any help. As I entered the store I was immediately greeted by an associate who asked if I needed any help. I was pleasantly surprised but, declined and went to the skincare section to find the product I wanted. This is where things went from great to better than I could have imagined. A skincare associate named Logan greeted me and instantly began connecting with me over products. She offered suggestions, had great knowledge, insisted I try something before I bought it (I never do this) and complimented the product on my skin. She made me laugh and feel good about myself (something that usually NEVER happens in a Sephora). I ended up purchasing a product that she suggested and she invited me back to the store. I was honestly so touched by her kindness that I felt the need to tell her not only how amazing she was, but how discouraged I had been by Sephora before I met her (I grabbed her survey card to leave a review as well). The experience continued at check out as the associate that helped me at check out was amazing and helped me add my phone number to my account. To me, the products sold in the store aren't as important as the employees that work there. I can find what I need at any Sephora, I haven't found employees like I did in Annapolis anywhere. I can't say I'm a total Sephora convert. I've just had way too many bad experiences at other stores, but I will say that I will happily drive 50 minutes out of my way to visit this particular store only. I had read on line that a customer could return products without a sales slip for credit within the store... I was told today at Sephora in Annapolis that this no longer possible and has not been acceptable for some time. I did not have my receipt but I did have my credit card statement with this Sephora purchase listed... The manager refused to see that as proof that I had purchased anything at Sephora... Finally she allowed me to enter my credit card which enabled the store to search for the actual purchase I made. Then I was refunded for my returns.. I would not recommend shopping there to others because of this change in policy read more

Two words: edible make-up! They don't sell it per say...but most of the staff agreed the lipstick and foundation was nontoxic. I tried some "hazlenut lipstick". I got notes of parrafin wax and pumpkin. Staff was helpful-ish but a bit judgy. I will be eating makeup at walgreens (the gay bar) from now on. read more

I ordered the Alchemist palette from Kat Von D and it got damaged in the mail, so instead of mailing it back, I decided to go to a physical location. They were out of it, but offered to let me return the item there, order me a new one online and have it sent to my house. I received it the following day in tact. In the Annapolis mall, however, I did not have a good experience. Extremely rude employees. It's like they are bothered by you even coming in the store and don't want your business. I haven't been here in a while since I moved across the country but the sweet helpful employees that were there before aren't there anymore. Went to Sephora looking for a answer to covering my melasma. Skye, who works there, was knowledgeable regarding possible options and was so nice and helpful!! She started by using what looked like a little stud finder that actually tells you what foundation color matches your skin. She then went over a list of different products narrowing it down to Cover FX which she felt would meet all of my needs. She actually applied it for me, 2 different shades, one on each side to see which I liked best!! It made a huge difference and was exactly what I needed!! I Love this location. However, my last experience was disturbing. I witnessed several employees cursing out loud amongst themselves with no regards for customers. Thank goodness for the polite young lady with the blue hair (I should've gotten her name) for keeping conversation with me during check out to try and distract the foul language. I love Sephora, but my latest visit did upset me just a little so I'm brining it down to the four star level. We had made appointments for full makeup consultation weeks in advance. When checking in, we were told that it would be a few minutes. Well, 20 minutes later still no second artist. After requesting to speak to the manager, we learned that the second artist was a "no show." They asked if we could wait. We couldn't due to another appointment. I was really pi$$ed that they didn't tell us straight away about the "no show." But, the manager was really apologetic and gave us some free samples. They were very nice and helpful, but I had to take away a star due to the oversight. Next time I will call and confirm the day before to make sure our appointment is squared away. Clean store, pleasant staff, good inventory. A decent experience, but I wish they were more prepared and pro-active about appointments. read more

Let me tell you, this store is like a second home to me. I have been shopping here since I was a teenager, and never have I ever felt unwelcome by the staff or the products in this store! First things first, this store is managed at SUCH a professional level, that you can just FEEL it when you walk in. Everything is always so clean and organized, the staff are all very well made up and dressed, and you can very much tell they are all REAL people! There is no BS here! Second of all, this store has something that is SO important! Product ambassadors! I was at a VIB: Rouge event that was about skincare, and I was introduced to the most life-changing cosmetics of ALL TIME (for me at least!): Caudalie! The thing that is so important about having a representative from the company you sell is that every drop of product knowledge you could possibly desire is at your fingertips with no strings attached! (Samples too!) They carry some of the best brands, and have an amazing staff. This store gets an A from me! :) read more

I have shopped this location for a while now with no problems. All of the Beauty Consultants have been super attentive and helpful up until today. I visited the store in search of a complete new set of beauty products (foundation, powder, eye shadow, mascara, etc.). The individual I was placed with was extremely condescending and rude from the beginning. She stated several times during my consultation that she was busy, and I needed to focus on one product that was my priority because she didn't have time for a full makeover. She only tried one foundation on me and when I stated that the foundation did not provide the full coverage I was seeking, and that maybe I needed to also use a concealer in conjunction, her response was, "It sounds as if you don't really know what it is your are looking for, so perhaps you should back another day?" She also indicated that she suggested I learn more about their Beauty Services because consultations typical require a $50 purchase (keep in mind I had more than this in my basket before I asked for assistance) and were by appointment only. I've always been helped without an appointment, so I'm not sure why today was any different. She commented multiple times on my skin texture indicating that it appeared I did not follow a skin care routine. After she rushed me away from the Beauty Bar, I asked again about eye shadow recommendations for Fall, and she asked what other colors I use. I indicated that I had the Urban Decay palettes but was looking for something new. She stated that since I already had the Urban Decay palettes, that it didn't like I needed anymore. After being rushed and feeling super self conscious over her comments over my skin tone, I left looking like a ghost (her skinIQ matching skills were subpar) and immediately headed to Nordstrom's in tears. The employees working the MAC counter immediately greeted me and assisted me letting me vent and listening to my needs attentively. 90 minutes later I left their counter, with a complete makeover and new products looking and feeling like a million bucks. Upon leaving I returned to the same Sephora store to return the products that I purchased hastily earlier and did have a good experience with the Manager who happened to process my refund. I briefly explained the situation and she was receptive to hearing me out but I was so embarrassed over how I had been treated I didn't go into detail. read more
