Plus, lots of wonderful coffee houses, but yeah.. I'll stick to pie, when writing this report. Now, originally, I was giving LPC 4 stars, but customer service received by Mika (hopefully I spelled his name correctly), elevated this review to FIVE stars. One thing I love more than the food, in certain instances is - the customer service. Back to that, in a moment. Ahh... what to get, so many yummy pie choices (blueberry, mixed berries, key lime, chocolate chiffon.. small/large/sliced.. with or without icecream.. want a latte? coming right up! I've been eyeballing that peanut butter pie, for quite some time. Massive slices. Sweet tooth, satisfied and then, some. Peanut butter pie, reminded me of a peanut butter cup meets a 3 Musketeers bar; the filling was smooth, fluffy - loved the ganache topping. Too rich to eat all at once. About 15 minutes later, noticed my steamer wasn't made. Uh oh. Inquired up front. Turned out, it wasn't made. Even though someone dropped the ball, Mika picked it up and turned my frown, right side up, with his warm, can do personality. It was made, perfectly and served with a cheery smile.

We had a tough time finding a Macaron we liked and ventured to The Golden Whisk after trying 4 previous bakeries and were pleasantly surprised. The baker explained they make their Macarons with White Chocolate Ganache, but they would make a few samples with other filling if I could come back next week (I, the bride do not like chocolate). So we left this day with bellies full of other sweets (highly recommend the lemon bar and a Chai Tea Latte) and waited a week to return. We came back the following Saturday to pick-up a sample, to our surprise there was not one but multiple samples with non-chocolate ganache filling (amazing) AND the baker hand wrote on each to make sure we knew what we were trying. We were very happy with the the samples and moved forward with ordering a Macaron Tower for our Wedding with the Chai (cream colored) and Cookies & Cream flavors (black & white colored).... TO DIE FOR, these flavors were BETTER than the samples and we didn't event try either of these flavors previously! We highly recommend The Golden Whisk for your next event or just stop by to grab yourself a drink and a pastry (we are from southern York it's work the drive).

After receiving multiple "oh no" responses to my 5 star review from 8 months ago even as late as…read moretoday, I realized that something is up and I needed to investigate. I quickly found out that one month after my visit, the owner of this establishment was captured on video in an apparent road rage incident yelling expletives at another person and repeatedly saying "your 1/2 N word brother" as an insult. He then looked directly into the camera and said "I am a racist" when pressed about using such a derogatory word. He held a press conference to apologize afterward but it was only because he was caught and this revelation was affecting his business. As a woman of color I am deeply offended and will never patronize this restaurant again. Thank you to the yelpers that alerted me to this

Suffice it to say I wanted to have one great meal with hubs to close out our nay-cation. I haven't been to the Paddock for decades. This was a great place for an excellent seafood dinner. Best jumbo lump crab cakes - no filler here. The filet was butter soft - extremely delicious. The shrimp were large and juicy. And the scallops were great. Our waitress Connie was great. In fact all of the servers were - they took empty dishes / glasses when they were walking by. The price is what I'd expect for fresh seafood and delicious steaks. My filet / crab cake was a special that came with 2 sides for $58 - was worth every penny! I also had a bloody mart which was very good as well! Will bring hubs back again when we are in town next time.

Since it's been some time since I last shopped here, it was a treat browsing all the vendor stands and seeing what foods are available. As a garden/flower enthusiast, you know I had to check out the flower stands like Perfect Pots and Inspirational Blossoms, both with fresh blooms. For lunch, after a taste test, I opted for Soulcialze, which provided generous portions of mac n cheese, collards, beef brisket, and cornbread. Tables are provided for lunch or snacks, but we had to wait a few minutes because none were available. At Lancaster Central, you can expect a friendly atmosphere in this beautiful historic building, where the local community shops and supports. I usually secure parking via parking apps at the Hager lot or one of the two nearby parking garages.

That's because on our visit, three of the parking garages bordering the market were full, and by the time we found street parking (you'd better polish up your parallel parking skills) it was close to a 30-minute stroll to this historic landmark. The market goes way back--all the way to 1730--when local farmers rolled into town with whatever they'd harvested and sold it in what was then just an open field in the center of the growing community. Today, it is home to over 65 vendors selling fruits & vegetables, meats, poultry, fish & cheeses, fresh baked bread, pretzels, pierogis, handmade dishes, smoothies, flowers, hot coffee, sweet treats, and even pickles. We had a blast wandering through the crowded aisles and picking up a few odds and ends. If you love jerky and meat sticks (as I do), you will walk out with a ton of goodies (as I did).

The doubles? Exceptional. Soft, perfectly filled, and full of flavor. And the hot pepper sauce? Whew. It didn't just add heat, it elevated an already outstanding dish to another level. Everything tasted like true, authentic Trini food, the kind that makes you feel warm, satisfied, and already thinking about your next visit. I was literally craving it every single day for the rest of my Lancaster trip. The space itself is on the smaller side, but really cute and inviting. The service was great: friendly, welcoming, and made the whole experience complete. Whether you're new to Trini food or already know what's up, Calaloo will not disappoint.
