So was visiting the land down under and after a week of eating different types of cuisine, I was dying for some spicy Korean food. Sydney has its own Ktown which borders right into Chinatown and as part of Ktown there are a few different options. I was looking for a casual eats place and a lot of the joints seemed to focus on KBBQ with Seoul project being one of the few that seemed to focus on pocha style food. After walking around in darling harbor, I made my way over to this spot and immediately was a fan of the décor. Inside is a low key vibe with TVs set up, a view of the folks in the kitchen, and a bunch of random poster including a PSY poster. The service here is quick and they have a variety of dishes from bibimbap, KFC, Jjigae, and of course soju.
I was craving some jjige and you can customize your own or pick their pre-defined soups. The food here is good and definitely hits the spot. They do not skimp on the portions and I had the spicy rib stew which was sweet/spicy at the same time which boggled my mind. I of course was able to enjoy 2 bottles of soju to wash it all down and pretty much killed the entire bowl despite my waistline screaming stop. The place was getting packed also on a Friday which showed that it is definitely popular with the Asians in Sydney. The one draw is that the soup was a bit salty towards the end and I felt a little dehydrated but at least it got me to hydrate... with soju . Good spot and definitely a happy find during my 5 day stay in Sydney. read more
