When we arrive our party was told that it would be a 30 to 45 minute wait. After waiting 1 hour I went up and check on the status for being seated and was informed it would be at least 45 minutes before they would be able to seat us. I had purchased a drink while waiting. When I went to hand my finished drink to a staff member, I was told to "take it to bar/counter myself. Really? Left the facility feeling unappreciated and hence the poor review. Went here for dinner. Was a bit nervous because it mentioned s nothing at all about gluten free available. Most Mexican is gluten free but deep frying flour tortillas and other items introduces cross contamination. Our waitress was very kind and shared that her sister and mother have celiac. She made sure to check everything before placing the order. Their salsa was soooo good. The chips were great, a little Nervous eating them. We didn't get sick. A definite plus. Was headed into Port Huron for Mediterranean, but gor waylaid by a convo abt this place. Can you say, Chile rellenos/pablanos? Yes, they do! So rare to see true TexMex on menus north of the border. They have it all! The salsa was pretty spicy, the chips were amazing (I limit gluten and these did NOT bother me, and I had more than i should've). The poblano plate was incredible. A couple really good sized poblano stuffed with that incredible white cheese that make you go...mmmmmm! She had the taco salad, said it was deelish. We are not drinkers, but what the hey, it's the Holidays. They had a separate holiday drink menu, my friend ordered a snowy margarita or something similar and it was sooo pretty, coconut flavored, garnished with cranberries. Got here around 11:30. Found the atmosphere was very nice along with the decor. The seats were very comfortable. Service was really good along with the food. The salsa is good, which makes her breaks it for me. The staff was very courteous and nice we'll be going back soon. read more

Nice friendly staff and a great ambiance. There is a nice outdoor seating area behind the restaurant away from the main street. This is my second time here and the food is great. The food was just okay! Not the best Mexican restaurant by far! I asked the waitress is the crispy hard shells if they were made there. She said yes! It was lie! These hard shells are store bought! The rice and beans were not the greatest, pretty bland. The enchiladas were okay! The food overall wasn't something I would want to go back to if visiting the Port Huron again. The decorations such as the letters outside on the back was very cute and authentic. I did order a medium strawberry frozen margarita, it wasn't good at all! The chips and salsa at Senor Tequilla are really good! Everyone enjoyed their food and drinks. I had tacos...one steak and one ground beef. I preferred the steak. Service was great, very attentive. The ambiance was nice and the location was in an old storefront building in downtown Port Huron. The food here is very very good I got the enchiladas plate while my family got a different dish each it was all great also got chorizo cheese sauce for an app it was fantastic as well. The service was spectacular, the server was very polite and the food came out with a quickness. The ambiance is nice as well noisy but not too noisy you can definitely have a conversation here with ease but you also don't feel alone either. We went for lunch, very friendly server & the food came out quick. They have a great salsa they bring to you with chips when you first get seated that has (IMO) just the right amount of heat without being too zippy. I got the Burrito LP, which was HUGE. The beef & chicken wasn't dry, like sometimes it can be & the chorizo was yummy. My friend got the shrimp fajitas which came with about a dozen medium sized shrimp seasoned perfectly. The food was delicious here it's the best Mexican food you can get around here. I was very happy with my food and I didn't have leftovers.
