Less than pleasant cashier. Seemed bothered that I wanted to place an order - as I was the only one in the place & she & the cook had been hanging out in one of the booths . The " baklava " looks like it's been around for weeks - as seen in photo I regret spending money in this place with the attitude I received. I wasn't even asked how I wanted my wrap ( the cook filled it with everything) . Very dark interior - very depressing staff - no smiles i'm just hoping not to get food poisoning. read more

This is my go-to Mediterranean restaurant in Port Huron. Admittedly, I could eat a chicken shawarma wrap every day of the week and Cedar more than satisfies this craving. Cedar's chicken shawarma is one of the best in the area, hands down and is the size of a full-sized burrito. It is made with the "meat cone," spinning behind the counter as well. Everything I've had here is super fresh and flavorful. The restaurant itself isn't much to write home about, as it's a mostly unchanged former Subway. But, I'm here for the shawarma, not the ambiance. Good overall. read more

My son has not had shawarma before so we cane here to try. The place opens at 11am and is open 4-5 days a week (closed on Sat and Sun). They have shawarma and rice bowls and fresh cut fries along with baklava and side salads. I enjoyed my rice bowl a lot with the taboulleh. My son liked his shawarma overall, though the sauce has a unique taste that was pretty strong. I like that they turned the old subway into a sandwich shop with a traditional spit which gives it a neat look. The people were very friendly inside. The prices were reasonable. I would definitely order here again. And with the outside sesting, on a warmer day, I would likely enjoy my bowl outside. I do want to try the fattoush and lentil soup at some point. read more

Greatttttt chicken wrap! Hands down the best I've ever had, this place is great and deserves the support.

Ive known their former employee Lynzie for a while now. We arent friends, and we dont socialize (she probably dosent even know my name), but Ive interacted with her many times at Cedar, and other locations she has worked. She has always been incredibly kind, professional, and really seems to enjoy whatever she does. Business owners who treat their employees in the way they treated herare toxic. They act like they are entitled to have employees who are down for whatever uncomfortable situations they may be put in. Ive gotten the same vibe from the business owner that Lynzie talks about during my own interactions. Closed minded, pig headed and only caring about whatever is convinent for them. Every customer of this establishment should be furious that he had sick employees handling food, much less not letting them wear basic ppe. Is it only him and his wife working there now? (Is that his wife?) She seems miserable, like she wasnt expecting to work the shop with him every day like she has been. Do they ever stay away from the line when they are sick? Or do they just come in and infect everyone else like they expect of their employees? Lynzie says she could write a book about her experiences here, and honestly, I would be interested to read it. Free speech works both ways pal. You can say your hate speech, and spew your bigoted nonsense, but that dosent stop people from forming an opinion about you. read more

The food was pretty bad, my beef shawarma tasted like vinegar/worchestshire sauce, I couldn't even taste the beef or any flavor. The humus was gritty and bland. Very disappointing paying $15.00 for food I ended up throwing away. read more

If you have a food allergy, do not go here! When I asked staff about an ingredient in one of their sauces, they told me they did not know. I asked another worker about the ingredients in one of the sauces and he mouthed off to me saying it was full of peanuts (my food allergen). Then told me he was kidding. I got my food and the sauce was on my food. I am very cautious about my allergy as it is very serious. I asked them to make me a new one without the sauce and they told me that would mess them all up and they could not do it. Staff were VERY rude and very inconsiderate of my serious food allergy. 10/10 do not recommend this place to anyone with a food allergy! read more

Love this Lebanese sandwich shop! They are very nice, they take their time on the food and the wraps they give you are almost the size of burritos! Next time I'm trying their babaganoush. The bowls come with sides. The wraps do not. read more

Just WOW. This was DELICIOUS. Tried the chicken, falafel, and kafta shawarma wraps, all super good maybe especially the falafel! Crisp and fluffy, perfectly seasoned, not heavy or greasy like falafel can be at times. Also tried the tabouli which was maybe the best I've ever had, and the lentil soup which was again perfectly seasoned, savory and comforting. Will be eating here on the regular. read more

This was an unexpected surprise! We're from the Flint area, which has a LOT of Mediterranean restaurants, and the food at Cedar was comparable to our favorite place at home. We had a falafel sandwich, which was outstanding! He went really heavy on the garlic (which was ok with us!) but I'm sure he'd be willing to go lighter if requested. We also got a side of baba ghanoush, which I loved. :D...My hubby prefers hummus. We'll definitely come again next time we're in Port Huron! read more

Small place, staff serves you from cafeteria style counter, but they do not enforce any mask rule despite the sign on the door. 6 people were lined up over the food and 2 staff members, but NO MASKS! If you want to catch covid, this would be a good place to start. read more

WOW!! What a hidden GEM! If "$5 Falafel Fridays!" catches your eye, this is just the place for you. Middle eastern food is a tough find up here this side of the river. This little corner diner does a darn good job filling the void. In addition to falafel, the Cedar offers rice bowls, schwarma, taboulleh, kefta, hummus, baba ghoumage, and lentil soup. AND baklava for dessert! The chef also has a style of wrapping the schwarma that should be taught to every wrap/gyro/burrito preparer out there. When one unwraps one of his sandwiches, the wrap provides it's own 'catchall' between the sandwich and your mouth, AND does not unwrap the remaining sandwich - until you do! Was really curious on trying a shawarma. I didnt know what to expect. I went there and had good atmosphere. I seen a little al pastor device for the chicken and was amazed to see this in a mom and pop place. Got the chicken shawarma and it is huge. Like for $8 you can't beat it. It's great to finally have a Mediterranean restaurant in Port Huron. Since they make all food fresh the menu is limited but terrific. The ambiance is "no nonsense " since the space used to be occupied by a Subway restaurant. Try the chicken shawarma or for vegetarians- the falafel sandwich or shawarma. The food was good, but the service kind of awful. I arrived at early lunch time on a Monday and they didn't numerous menu items available so you couldn't order anything with beef. This place is absolutely authentic and delicious. We had the raw kibbee , which is only available on Mondays. Very red and fresh, seasoned perfectly, with 100% real extra virgin olive oil and raw onions. The chicken shawarma was huge, loaded with seasoned meat and garlic as well as all the fixings. Was so excited about this place but was so disappointed by the terrible customer service at ordering that it ruined the experience before even trying the food! The woman taking orders was very unpleasant and acted like she was angry that we were even there. Upon asking for a side of pita with our salads she told us like we should have known that it is served with it. (Um, it doesn't say anything on the menu to that effect, so sorry for asking!) They were out of Falafel which I can forgive since they're new. So we ordered the tabouleh and hummus. I was hoping for the best but when we opened it there was about a quarter inch of tabouleh lining the bottom of the container; what I would consider a garnish-worth and not much more hummus, plus cold pita. Yikes. Besides the seriously small amounts, the salads were tasty. I'm hoping this place works out the bugs and hires someone pleasant for the front counter otherwise they may not last too long, sadly. As a fan of Middle Eastern food I was excited to hear that this place was opening in Port Huron, and really hoped it would be good. I might be a tad spoiled having previously lived in Dearborn, but I can't come up with much positive to say about it. Firstly, the menu is extremely limited. If you're not in the mood for a chicken shawarma sandwich, falafel sandwich, hummus or tabbouli, then you're out of luck because that's pretty much all there is. Secondly, the ambience is that of a run down fast food joint. Probably because this used to be a Subway location, and the interior decor including the kitchen/prep area is completely unchanged. It's not a place to go for any type of sit-down dining, to say the least. Thirdly, the food itself is pretty meh. The hummus is downright terrible- The whole texture and flavor is totally wrong. It almost seemed like they forgot to add the tahini or something, it just tasted like ground chick peas with lemon juice. The chicken shawarma was ok, nothing special. The garlic sauce was very good (the reason I gave this place 2 stars instead of 1), but the chicken was pretty dry and the iceberg lettuce they put on the sandwich (the first time I've ever seen anyone put iceberg lettuce on a chicken shawarma sandwich, by the way), was brown and soggy. Overall, a pretty disappointing experience and I don't plan on going back. If you're in the Port Huron area and don't want to drive all the way to the outskirts of Detroit for good Middle Eastern food, Shawarma Yes on 26 Mile at I-94 is awesome, I'd highly recommend that instead. It blows this place out of the water in every way imaginable. It's well worth the 20 minute drive down I-94 if you have the time. read more
